14 9 You read this article about iced coffee. The history of iced coffee Όπου και να κοιτάξεις το καλοκαίρι, βλέπεις πάνω στα τραπέζια καφέ φραπέ! Αν όμως ρωτήσεις, αμφιβάλλω αν κανένας θα ξέρει την ιστορία του αγαπημένου μας καφέ. Σύμφωνα με την ελληνόγλωσση ιστοσελίδα γνωστής εταιρίας, ο φραπέ έχει ελληνικές ρίζες. Λένε πως ο «φραπές» πρωτοφτιάχτηκε το 1957 στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Το αστείο όμως είναι ότι έγινε κατά λάθος! Κάποιος ήθελε να φτιάξει καφέ, αλλά δεν είχε ζεστό νερό. Πήρε λοιπόν παγωμένο νερό, το ανακάτεψε με τον καφέ και έτσι γεννήθηκε ο φραπέ. Λένε μάλιστα ότι έπεσε επάνω στα ρούχα του ο καφές και τα λέρωσε! Ωραία η ιστορία (ιδιαίτερα επειδή μας αρέσει να λέμε πως ο καφές αυτός γεννήθηκε στην Ελλάδα) αλλά μάλλον είναι μύθος. Αν ο καφές πρωτοφτιάχτηκε το 1957, πώς σερβίρανε, από το 1948, «καφέ φραπέ» στο καφενείο «Πέτρογραδ» στην Αθήνα; Επιπλέον, σε εφημερίδα του 1894, στη Νέα Υόρκη, γράφτηκε πως σε μια μεγάλη γιορτή σερβίρανε τσάι και...καφέ φραπέ!
