The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. Bring to the Lord, O you sons of God, bring to the Lord glory and honor. The Second Letter of St. Paul to Corinthians 6:1-10 Brethren, working together with him, then, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, "At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. We put no obstacle in any one's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, tumults, labors, watching, hunger; by purity, knowledge, forbearance, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love, truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

5 ΤΟ ΕΥΑΓΓΕΛΙΟΝ - THE HOLY GOSPEL Ἐκ τοῦ κατὰ Λουκάν 7:11-16 Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, ἐπορεύετο ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς πόλιν καλουμένην Ναΐν καὶ συνεπορεύοντο αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἱκανοὶ καὶ ὄχλος πολύς. ὡς δὲ ἤγγισε τῇ πύλῃ τῆς πόλεως, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐξεκομίζετο τεθνηκὼς υἱὸς μονογενὴς τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ αὕτη ἦν χήρα, καὶ ὄχλος τῆς πόλεως ἱκανὸς ἦν σὺν αὐτῇ. καὶ ἰ δ ὼ ν α ὐ τ ὴ ν ὁ Κύ ρ ι ο ς ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ' αὐτῇ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Μὴ κλαῖε καὶ προσελθὼν ἥψατο τῆς σοροῦ, οἱ δὲ βαστάζοντες ἔστησαν, καὶ εἶπε Νεανίσκε, σοὶ λέγω, ἐγέρθητι. καὶ ἀνεκάθισεν ὁ νεκρὸς καὶ ἤρξατο λαλεῖν, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὸν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτοῦ. ἔλαβε δὲ φόβος πάντας, καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν Θεόν, λέγοντες ὅτι Προφήτης μέγας ἠγήγερται ἐν ἡμῖν, καὶ ὅτι ἐπεσκέψατο ὁ Θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ. According to Luke 7:11-16 At that time, Jesus went to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him. As he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her. And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." And he came and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." And the dead man sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. Holy Trinity provides a comprehensive rehabilitation program of Physical, Occupational and Speech/Language Therapies. Call for more information. DIVINE LITURGY is celebrated every Wednesday morning at 9:30am. And please always keep Holy Trinity Nursing Home, it s staff, directors, residents, and families in your prayers. CHOIR Your Cathedral Choir is looking for new members both male and female ages 14 and older. Rehearsals take place Sunday mornings at 9AM in the lower church hall. Come share in singing. Junior Choir rehearsals are after the Liturgy in the Tonna Room for children ages 8 and above. Everyone is welcome to participate. HOSPITAL VISITS Due to HIPPAA privacy rules, most hospitals no longer provide a list of Orthodox patients for us to see. Therefore, if you or a loves are, or will be, in the hospital, please contact the church office to arrange a pastoral visit. Also, please notify the office if a friend or family member is in a rehab center, nursing home, assisted living facility, or under hospice care. PHILOPTOCHOS Philoptochos is holding their annual bake sale on Sunday, October 27th following Divine Liturgy. New this year: Pre-Order a whole spanakopita or tiropita for only $35! Contact MaryAnna Koulisis by October 13th for this special offer. APPLE PICKING Everyone is invited to come apple picking at Tougas Farm after liturgy on Sunday, October 20th. The whole family is welcome to come. We will take a group picture at the entrance and then groups and families can go their ways. They also have pumpkins, cider donuts, and all kinds of Autumn treats. We hope you can join us! YOUTH EVENTS If your child is involved in youth sports or clubs and would like Fr Nicholas to come, please speak with him! He will always make time to support our kids. 8 2019 STEWARDSHIP REPORT *As of 10/4/19 WEEK 2019 TOTAL PLEDGES RECEIVED AVERAGE $ PER PLEDGE *GOAL STEWARDSHIP BUDGET 41 $ 218, $479 $300, Our operating budget would require that each family contribute $1,000 in Stewardship in order to meet our operating expenses. *Goal amount includes the 2019 Stewardship Budget Receipts of $300, Funds reflect all monies received in We suggest budgeting your Stewardship contribution as you would your monthly home expenses. Our Cathedral must meet the financial needs of its ministries and annual operating budget by way of our Christian Stewardship Program. It is everyone s responsibility to accept this honor and support our role as a Contributing Steward. We ask that you prayerfully pledge whatever you can give to support our community through Stewardship. May God continue to bless the work of your hands.
