Also, on this day, the second Sunday of Lent, we observe the memory of our Father among the Saints Gregory Palamas, Archbishop of Thessalonica. Way Upcoming, but Always Planning Ahead For a long time, our parish is deeply blessed by the donations of flowers to decorate our Epitafio and contributions towards their purchase. We need to ask ahead of time for your support in providing for our Church services and your spiritual enjoyment. Coffee Hour Today, our coffee hour is hosted by our ladies of Philoptochos. Philoptochos We will host the Philoptochos Regional meeting on Saturday, March 10 th from 10 am to 12 pm, all of our philoptochos members are welcomed to attend. March 17th at 9:00 AM, baking lesson on how to bake Proforo. The women who are interested in learning must bring two baking pans 8 or 9 inch pans, five lbs of flour, and a seal if they have one. Children (with parents) are also invited, if they wish to witness and learn. We are now accepting your order for the Easter Bread Tsourekia. Please contact Lola (845) or Mary (845) St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival Parents, would you like your children to explore a deeper knowledge of our faith while developing valuable experience in critical thinking and public speaking? If so, please encourage them to participate in this wonderful festival! The topics for 2018 are available. There are two divisions: The Junior Division which is open to children in grades 7-9 and the Senior Division for those in grades Participation begins at the parish level and finalists progress to district, metropolis and national levels of competition. We will also be participating in an Elementary Division, to introduce our youngsters, grades 4-6, to the process. They can write a one minute speech on their choice of topics and will present to our community only. No judges for this level! Hope Group The HOPE Group is planning some great events for the next couple of months! On March 10th, the kids are invited to attend a fun-filled activity at High Exposure where they can move, jump, and swing through obstacle courses! Kids of all ages are welcomed to attend. Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation? Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For if the message declared by angels was valid and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard him. St. Irene Ladies Philoptochos of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church is comprised of dedicated ladies of our community. Our mission is to promote philanthropic participation in the many activities in our community. Θα έχουµε επίσης διαγωνισµό Δηµοτικού τµήµατος, όπου µαθητές τάξεων 4-6 θα παρουσιάσουν την οµιλία τους µόνο στη κοινότητά µας, µε δική τους επιλογή θέµατος. 5 Φιλόπτωχος Η Εθνική (National) Φιλόπτωχος θα οργανώσει την τηλεφωνική υποστήριξη για τους Ορθοδόξους Χριστιανούς καρκινοπαθής που υποβάλονται θεραπεία, άνω των 21 ετών. Ἐκ τοῦ Κατὰ Μᾶρκον 2:1-12 Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, εἰσῆλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς εἰς Καπερναοὺµ δι ἡµερῶν καὶ ἠκούσθη ὅτι εἰς οἶκόν ἐστι. καὶ εὐθέως συνήχθησαν πολλοί, ὥστε µηκέτι χωρεῖν µηδὲ τὰ πρὸς τὴν θύραν καὶ ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον. καὶ ἔρχονται πρὸς αὐτὸν παραλυτικὸν φέροντες, αἰρόµενον ὑπὸ τεσσάρων καὶ µὴ δυνάµενοι προσεγγίσαι αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον, ἀπεστέγασαν τὴν στέγην ὅπου ἦν, καὶ ἐξορύξαντες χαλῶσι τὸν κράβαττον, ἐφ ᾧ ὁ παραλυτικὸς κατέκειτο. ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ιησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ τέκνον, ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁµαρτίαι σου. ἦσαν δέ τινες τῶν γραµµατέων ἐκεῖ καθήµενοι καὶ διαλογιζόµενοι ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις αὐτῶν τί οὗτος οὕτω λαλεῖ βλασφηµίας; τίς δύναται ἀφιέναι ἁµαρτίας εἰ µὴ εἷς ὁ Θεός; καὶ εὐθέως ἐπιγνοὺς ὁ Ιησοῦς τῷ πνεύµατι αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὕτως αὐτοὶ διαλογίζονται ἐν ἑαυτοῖς, εἶπεν αὐτοῖς τί ταῦτα διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑµῶν; τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν τῷ παραλυτικῷ, ἀφέωνταί σου αἱ ἁµαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν, ἔγειρε καὶ ἆρον τὸν κράβαττόν σου καὶ περιπάτει; ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀφιέναι ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἁµαρτίας - λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ σοὶ λέγω, ἔγειρε καὶ ἆρον τὸν κράβαττόν σου καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου. καὶ ἠγέρθη εὐθέως, καὶ ἄρας τὸν κράβαττον ἐξῆλθεν ἐναντίον πάντων, ὥστε ἐξίστασθαι πάντας καὶ δοξάζειν τὸν Θεὸν λέγοντας ὅτι οὐδέποτε οὕτως εἴδοµεν.
