The fundamental question, however, is how will we use all that we have for the glory of God? The 2014 Stewardship packets were mailed to your homes. Please take time to review the message conveyed in the enclosed material and consider donating your time, talent, and treasure to Holy Trinity Cathedral. To update Cathedral records, each steward, individual or family, is asked to complete a 2014 Commitment Card and return it to the office. Moreover, stewards are strongly encouraged to submit the completed forms by this Friday, January 24, 2014, to assist with upcoming budget planning. Your cooperation on this matter is greatly appreciated. CHILDREN S COOKIE WORKSHOP The directors of Greek School and HOPE & JOY are conducting an exciting joint venture today, Sunday, January 19, 2014, for the children of both groups. Fay Kalergi and Vicki McCallef invite these young people to attend a Greek Alphabet Cookie Workshop and Pizza Party in the Hellenic Cultural Center beginning at 12:00 pm. There will be NO Greek School. The event will be a wonderful hands on opportunity for the children to learn all of the Greek letters while preparing bake items that will be sold the following Sunday, January 26, for $10 per dozen. Proceeds will benefit HOPE & JOY. Parents are asked to bring their young bakers to this educational, fun activity.

PHILOPTOCHOS THANK YOU The Cross Dive Retrieval ceremony was a milestone that we shall always remember. Nick Chronis, thank you for all that you did to make your dream a reality. We appreciate the efforts of Barbara Wolf, Costa Vennis, and their committee members, who completed this huge task in just sixty days. Our thanks to Laila Zissis for the excellent job of publicizing the event. Many thanks to everyone, who helped with the luncheon. So many of you gathered to set up the luncheon, help with decorations, serve the buffet, welcome guests, as well as sell and collect tickets. Our sincere appreciation to Evangelia Bilalis, Vasili Funti, and their committee for preparing a delicious meal. Special thanks to Cathy Vial for making the table arrangements. SENIOR CITIZENS LUNCHEON Over fifty senior citizens enjoyed the luncheon on January 16. Our appreciation is extended to Carol and Steve Venturatos, who sponsored the luncheon in honor and memory of their parents Dita and George Venturatos and Lillian and Harold Amerland. We thank Fotini and George Tzavellas for preparing a delicious entree accompanied with salad and dessert. Our thanks again to Cathy Vial for organizing the bingo and table arrangements. Resurrection Apolytikion Plagal Tone 1 Let us worship the Word, O ye faithful, praising Him that with the Father and the Spirit is cobeginningless God, Who was born of a pure Virgin that we all be saved; for He was pleased to mount the Cross in the flesh that He assumed, accepting thus to endure death. And, by His glorious rising, He also willed to resurrect the dead. Apolytikion of St. Makarios Tone 1 You proved to be a citizen of the desert, an angel in the flesh, and a wonderworker, O Makarius, our God-bearing Father. By fasting, vigil, and prayer you obtain heavenly gifts, and you heal the sick and the souls of them that have recourse to you with faith. Glory to Him that has given you strength. Glory to Him that has crowned you. Glory to Him that works healings for all through you. Apolytikion of the Holy Trinity Plagal Tone 4 Blessed are You, O Christ our God, who made fishermen all-wise, sending upon them the Holy Spirit and, through them, netting the world. O Loving One, glory to You. Kontakion of Epiphany Tone 1 Your birth sanctified a Virgin's womb and properly blessed the hands of Symeon. Having now come and saved us O Christ our God, give peace to Your commonwealth in troubled times and strengthen those in authority, whom You love, as only the loving One.

THE EPISTLE Colossians 3:4-11 O Lord, how manifold are your works. You have made all things in wisdom. Verse: Bless the Lord, O my soul. BRETHREN, when Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. In these you once walked, when you lived in them. But now put them all away; anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all. THE GOSPEL Luke 17:12-19 At that time, as Jesus entered a village, He was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said: "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When He saw them He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus feet, giving Him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus: "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And He said to him: "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."
