Dr Maria (Costadopoulos) Hill Military Historian, raising awareness on Australia s Greek campaigns Dr Maria Hill is a military historian and an expert on the Greek and Crete campaigns. Maria is the first Australian historian of Greek descent to write about these campaigns, which has ensured that a Greek perspective has been included in a narrative that often ignores Australia s Greek allies. She has made a major contribution to the education in NSW with her creative teaching ideas and was awarded in 2001 the State Discovering Democracy Award by the Director General of Education as well as the National Discovering Democracy Award by Federal Minister of Education.
