Sunday of the 7th Ecumenical Council The Gospel of Luke 8:5-15 On Sunday, November 10, 2013 the St. Val s Men s Club will be sponsoring a memorial service in the church at the end of the Divine Liturgy in memory of all of their departed members. After the Divine Liturgy all members of the community are invited to go outside and join the Honor Guard honoring the memories of the veterans that have served our country and have entered into eternal rest. REMINDER We would like to remind you that on Sunday, October 27 th, we celebrate the feast of St. Cosmas and Damian, patrons of the Philoptochos. At the first liturgy that Sunday, the Philoptochos will sponsor a bread blessing service for the health of the members of our parish, At the second Liturgy it will sponsor a memorial service for its deceased members, at which all of the more than 350 members of blessed memory will be individually commemorated by name. If you would like a Trisagion at the graveside during the week you are kindly asked to make an appointment by calling the church WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS! Everyone is welcome in the Orthodox Church and may receive the blessed bread (antidoron) at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy. Sadly, the divisions in the church prompt us all to work towards reunited Christianity. The culmination of this reunion will be the ability of all Christians to receive the Eucharist together. Until that blessed day arrives, Orthodox Christians who are in good sacramental order are only permitted to receive Holy Communion in the Orthodox Church. If you have any questions or concerns please speak with Father Chris. HOSPITAL VISITS Salem Hospital is making a change in order to be in compliance with new privacy laws. This change will mean that we will no longer receive the list of Orthodox patients in the hospital. So, if you or a loved one will be in the hospital please call the church office so that we can pay you a pastoral visit. This change will also affect Beverly Hospital as well. Also, families of people in nursing home please call the church office so that their names will be included on the list of residents.
