Τα τελευταία 15 χρόνια η τέχνη φαίνεται πως έχει ξανανθίσει για τα καλά στο νησί, αφού πολλοί Μυκονιάτες, λάτρεις της τέχνης, που έμεναν μόνιμα στην Αθήνα επέστρεψαν και άνοιξαν γκαλερί, που φιλοξενούν εκτός από πίνακες και άλλα έργα μοντέρνας κυρίως τέχνης, δίνοντας μια άλλη αξία στην κατά τ άλλα «εκθαμβωτική» αγορά της Μυκόνου. Most of them are inspired from the island s beauty and tradition. In the art galleries of Chora you will find the works of great and famous painters as well as works of local artists such as paintings, and sculptures made of marble, wood and metal. Some painters paint unique wooden sings. Furthermore, you can find handmade jewellery made of gold or silver, having traditional as well as modern designs. There are also unique hand made jewellery and brooches made of simple material such as shells, stones and small glasses coming from the sea. There are still few weavers that weave scarves, bags, and rugs for sofas and bedspreads. You will find handmade bugs and wicker hats; unique dolls made of cloth or paper pulp representing characters from Mykonos legends. Craftsmen that know the sea construct little boats and large crafts made to order. In the rambling alleys of Chora you will see religious paintings, mosaic, and leather sandals workshops, while on the ring road there is a pottery workshop. Επίσης μοναδικές κούκλες από ύφασμα ή χαρτοπολτό που τα θέματά τους είναι παρμένα από τους μύθους του νησιού. Τεχνίτες που είχαν σχέση με τη θάλασσα φτιάχνουν καραβάκια και μεγάλα σκαριά κατά παραγγελία. Στα δαιδαλώδη δρομάκια της Χώρας ανακαλύπτει κανείς εργαστήρια αγιογραφίας, ψηφιδωτού και δερμάτινων σανδαλιών και στον Περιφερειακό εργαστήριο με κεραμικά.
