Behavioral problems, in total, are presented in a 10% of school aged children and have a strong impact on learning, cognitive and emotional development and social behavior. The most prevalent child behavioral problems at school, affecting school adjustment, are: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorders etc, whereas one of the most frequent and severe school behavior problems is bullying. Genetic, biological, developmental and psychosocial parameters influence the development of school-related behavioral problems, which frequently co-exist and are highly comorbid with a variety of several other emotional and learning problems, such as anxiety, depression, dyslexia etc Genetic, epigenetic and developmental parameters influence brain physiology, biology and anatomy, making the individual vulnerable to behavioral problems. Enviromental factors related to family and/or school may further affect these behaviors in a positive or negative manner. 14

There is a wide range of manisfastations and characteristics, that varies with age and developmental stage. Early recognition and intervention by teachers and clinicians is essential for prognosis of child and adolescent behavioral problems. Analytical description of the activity and photos «Neuro-mime: representing brain structure and function through educational drama» Students of the 1 st and 11 th Lyceum of the city of Patras The composite students team from both 1 st and 11 th Lyceum of Patras named Neurominions combined dramatization, dance and visual language to represent brain structure and function. In the performance called Neuro-mime the students pretend to be neurons and collectively represent higher structures such as a neural network, a kinetic and a sensory neural pathway, and functions like the synapse, signal transmission, information processing and intentionality. Students are symmetrically arranged (figure 1) and their hands are connected with colored ropes that they oscillate making simple or standing waves, depending on the music that is being played (observe the incoming and outcoming arrows in figure 1). Movements are made under black light so as the ropes glow, which in turn enhances the visual context and the aesthetics of the performance. Finally,. In detail, as seen in figure 1, neurons 1, 2 and 3 represent the sensory neural pathway of hearing, and accept sonic stimuli (the accompanying music theme). They transmit it to the central neural system where the information is processed. Neurons A to D represent a simple network where this process happens. Neurons E and F also accept signals but they act as regulating neurons by making special movements so as to highlight their special role. Finally, neurons 4 to 6 represent a kinetic neural pathway. After taking stimuli from the central neural system they give kinetic commands to the muscles. Macroscopic action is represented by two other students (X1 and X2) who dance in front of the whole arrangement (figure 2). During the slow part of the music the neurons moved the ropes in simple wave mode. By the moment the theme became more intense and quick the neurons changed the rope movements into a standing wave mode and so on. The patterns of the dancing movements also changed in accordance with the music. As a result, a relationship between macroscopic behavior and internal neural function can be seen. It is also clear to the viewer s eyes that perception, consciousness and intentionality emerge from just a group of (not anthropomorphic) neurons. 29

Figure 1 arrangement Figure 2 a moment at the end of the performance, the arrangement shown in real 30

Figure 3 theatrical play (frozen images, a tree) It is useful to report that during the development of our act students were also involved in lectures on neuroscience, brainstorming, theatrical playing, acquaintance and group enhancing games, hand painting on fabric (some students hand-painted neural patterns on their t-shirts) etc. We believe that a fruitful combination of art and science was achieved in our act and we are glad to say that its development took place in the spirit of collective creativity and emancipation of the students. Coordinator: Arlapanos Georgios, Biology teacher MΕd Directors Kritikos Stamos (1st Lyceum of Patras), Koutsodimas Georgios (11th Lyceum of Patras) Students: 1st Lyceum of Patras : Kefala Athanassia, Skiadas Georgios, Sodi Anna, Spiridonidi Elli, Tzouras Andreas, Tsakona Ioanna, Tsolkas Savvas, Psarros Vassilis. 11th Lyceum of Patras : Polizou Christina, Stravolaimou Dimitra, Tapinou Mirto, Tzouvali Maria, Tsaliki Eleni, Tsatsadaki Christina. http://learningaliveexperience.blogspot.gr/2014/02/blog-post.html When brain regions are self-evaluated. Students of the General Lyceum of the city of Akrata The team of Lyceum of Akrata, comprised from students of the first class, performed the internal of the brain of an exhausted student who has fallen asleep over her books after an intensive course. Particular brain regions, amongst them the lobes, the cerebellum, the thalamus and hypothalamus, are competing which one is more important for the human organism function. Looking in from outside is very difficult to decide which one is of outmost importance, until brain meninges pressed by this disorganization decide to put an end to this dispute using an undisputable, hence so simple and so real, argument that dare to make it happen Theatrical act on When brain regions are self-evaluated. prepared by the Students of the General Lyceum of the city of Akrata 32

«Aromatic Plant and brain» Students of the 4 th EPAL of the city of Patras The students of Agricultural Foods and Environment class, presented a theatrical event The little mouse with the aromatic flowers. The students decided to carry out such an action, after the instructive visit they had in the Laboratory of Human and Animal Physiology of Biological department of the University of Patras, where they participated in a behavioural test (thigmotaxis ) which is a stress measuring test. 33

Theatrical act on «Aromatic Plant and brain» prepared by the Students of the 4 th EPAL of the city of Patras «Sound trip» Students of the 9 th High School of the city of Patras Students studied the anatomy of the ear and the process of the sense of hearing. They discovered the phenomenon of sound and noise in order to sensitize them to improve the quality of the sense of hearing, for themselves and for others around them. The group presentation included an electronic and kinetic expression. 34

Theatrical act on «Sound trip» prepared by the Students of the 9 th High School of the city of Patras 35

«Hyper- activate the creativity» Students of the High School of the city of Antirrio This program was related to Hyperactivity and was called << Hyper- activate the creativity>>. In a first level the goal was, in cooperation with the students, to make a power point presentation, in order to reveal the features of Hyperactivity and inattention. The behavior of children with disturbances composes the structure of a class. The students of the program were interested in studying this behavior. The students in cooperation with their teacher created a theatre action and with their participation they have the target to display the features of a Hyper- activate children. The students made their suggestions. They suggested accepting the children with this behavior in class, to encourage their creativity. These children could be more supported in Fantasy and resourcefulness. 36

Theatrical act on «Hyper- activate the creativity» the Students of the High School of the city of Antirrio "Our miraculous vision!!!" Students of the Model Experimental High School of the University of Patras The goal of this study was to present the famous Stroop Test, to understand the way this effect works and to examine it s applications in brain s processing ability as well as it s uses during brain imaging studies to investigate regions of the brain that are involved in planning, decision-making, and managing real-world interference (e.g. texting and driving). Also presented the Greek version of the Stroop Test showing some first results of the students research, wich took place in the school in cooperation with the Laborataory Center of Physical Studies of Patras. 37
