Grave Mode. Psalm 28.11,1 The Lord will give strength to his people. Verse: Bring to the Lord, O sons of God, bring to the Lord honor and glory. The reading is from St. Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians 1:10-17 Brethren, I appeal to you by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me by Chloe's people that there is quarreling among you, my brethren. What I mean is that each one of you says, "I belong to Paul," or "I belong to Apollos," or "I belong to Cephas," or "I belong to Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispos and Gaius; lest any one should say that you were baptized in my name. (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.) For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

GOSPEL READING The Gospel According to Matthew 14:14-22 At that time, Jesus saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves." Jesus said, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." They said to him, "We have only five loaves here and two fish." And he said, "Bring them here to me." Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Then he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.

4 Announcements Church Bulletin Nicole Maverakis is now producing the weekly church bulletin. Please send any announcements to her at Articles should be submitted in text (*.txt) or Microsoft Word (*.docx) formats and pictures in JPEG (*.jpg *.jpeg *.jpe) format for inclusion in the bulletin. The deadline for submissions is on Friday 5:00 PM anything submitted after that time will not be included in the bulletin for the upcoming Sunday. General Assembly General Assembly Sunday July 29 after the Divine Liturgy. Bible Study Bible Study will meet Wednesday June 25th at the church at 6:30 pm. Please bring your favorite pot luck dish to share. We had awesome discussions relating the wonderful word of God to our personal lives. Our topic will be St. Paul to the Thessalonians. Hope you'll join us. Sanctuary Lights The two Sanctuary Lights on the Holy Altar are replaced every Sunday and burn for one week. You may offer one or both of them for a loved one. Please contact Fr. Andrew if you would like to donate towards one or both. The cost is $10.00 each. Festival Volunteers Festival Volunteers Needed. The Festival is the most important fundraiser for our parish. It cannot be successful without the support of all parishioners. Please consider how you can help. The festival is on October 13 and 14. Ill Parishioners Reminder: If you know of any parishioners who are ill or hospitalized, please provide Father Andrew with the information as soon as possible. Demetrion-Hodges Family is in crisis mode Christine and David Hodges need our help. They need someone to stay at the house with David on Fridays from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Home cooked meals would also be appreciated. Please contact Fr. Andrew if you can help. 5 Church Bookmobile St. Nicholas Bookmobile is adding many new items for sale. You may purchase items after Liturgy on Sunday or by talking to Elaine Manneh at cell or house at Church Library A church library is now available in the church office. You may borrow books for a period of three weeks. Please write your name and telephone number on the library card. Consider sharing your reading in the bulletin. Children's books are available for borrowing in the Sunday School trailer. St. Nicholas Cookbook Our St. Nicholas cookbook is now available for sale. Copies are in the church office. The cost is $12. each. Consider buying several to give out as gifts. Thanks to all who contributed recipes to make this project a success. AHEPA The DOP/Ahepa is sponsoring a summer luncheon on July 29th to continue to raise funds for the cost of a defibrillator for the church. The luncheon will be right after the Divine Liturgy and before the General Assembly which will be held on this Sunday. Greek Heritage Night at Petco Park Just a reminder that Greek night at Petco Park is right around the corner! We are up to about 200 tickets sold and are hoping to at least double that number by game time. Please feel free to invite your friends and family to join us on Saturday, 7/28 to come out and support our dancers and the Padres. We are happy to announce that this year Sts. Constantine and Helen have partnered with St. Spyridon to host Greek Heritage Night at Petco park! Our dancers will be joining together to perform on stage at the "Park at the Park" prior to the start of the game and we are hopeful that we will have an enormous showing of Greek pride as the Padres face the Diamondbacks on 7/28 at 5:40pm. This stage is actually inside the park, so you must purchase a ticket if you are simply going to watch the dancers perform. I am writing to you asking that you share this information with all of the participants in your ministries. The first 500 to purchase tickets will receive a free Padres Greek themed hat like the one shown on the attached flyer. In addition, all fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Trevor Hoffman bobblehead in celebration of his induction into the MLB Hall of Fame. We have a large section of seats reserved at varying price levels. You may view ticket options and purchase tickets by going to and scrolling down until you see Greek Heritage night. The evening/early morning closures are scheduled as follows: Wednesday, July 25th -Thursday, July 26th: What: Work on construction of the new bridge over Temecula Parkway for future southbound off-ramp. When: 9:00pm-4:00am Full closure of Temecula Parkway underneath the freeway bridges.
