The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 2:4-10 rethren, God who is rich in mercy, out of the great B love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God: not because of works, lest any man should boast. Mobile Loaves and Fishes (MLF) Volunteer Opportunity On the first Saturday of every month, Transfiguration forms a team of parishioners to prepare lunches at the MLF site, as well as drive out to homeless shelters in Austin to distribute these lunches. We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact John Esper at john.esper@gmail.com to be on the MLF distribution list. For those on the MLF distribution list, an is sent out about 3-4 days prior to the event asking for volunteers. Typically 4-5 volunteers are needed to prepare the lunches, and 3-4 volunteers are needed to deliver the lunches. If you have any questions, please contact John Esper, and he will be glad to help. Vasiliki at After the tragic fall in the Garden of Eden passions of the soul can be contrary to our nature as άνθρωπος, male and female, in the image of God. Maximos calls these passions gentiles of the soul.

But Abraham said, 'They have Moses, and the prophets; let them hear them.' And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if some one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' He said to them, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be convinced if some one should rise from the dead.'" 6 Bringing Your Brokenness Open to individuals and couples, meetings will be held bi-monthly on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm. We are studying book Defeating Sin by Fr. Joseph Huneycutt which is available in our bookstore. Our goal is to provide a loving Orthodox Christian atmosphere for support, accountability, study, and discussion, with the ultimate goal of restoring our souls and bodies to the image and likeness of God. 8 Potluck Patristics BOOK STUDY Our Potluck Patristics Book Study is meeting on Monday, November 5, with a new book, The Divine Liturgy: A Commentary in the Light of the Fathers.
