3 Epistle - St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 11:31-33; 12:1-9 Prokeimenon. Mode 2. Psalm ,18 The Lord is my strength and my song. Verse: The Lord has chastened me sorely. The reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 11:31-33; 12:1-9 rethren, the God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he B who is blessed for ever, knows that I do not lie. At Damascus, the governor under King Aretas guarded the city of Damascus in order to seize me, but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped his hands. I must boast; there is nothing to be gained by it, but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven -- whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows. And I know that this man was caught up into Paradise --whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows -- and he heard things that cannot be told, which man may not utter. On behalf of this man I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except of my weaknesses. Though if I wish to boast, I shall not be a fool, for I shall be speaking the truth. 6 TGOC Young Professionals Austin Please join us twice each month for the TGOC Young Professionals Bible Study! Starting in October, there will be a more regular schedule for Bible Study in the hopes that this consistency will be more convenient for everyone. We are thrilled to be joined by Fr. Vasileios for our gathering and will plan to meet monthly on the first Wednesday evening at 6:30pm, and third Saturday morning at 9:00am. 8 TRANSFIGURATION CHOIR The first two rehearsals of the Transfiguration Choir were a great success and everyone in attendance was very excited. We had a beautiful, balanced sound and Father was very complimentary. The next one will be on Saturday, October 20 from 10am until 12pm in Mt. Tabor Hall. The Orthodox Church is not in sacramental communion with any other church outside the Orthodox Christian Faith. It is a day set aside across our entire Archdiocese to commemorate the dedicated and talented women and men in our parish whose stewardship provides music for our liturgical services throughout the year. Orthodox Christian Fellowship continues to provide students with opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ and grow in their Orthodox faith through a growing network of on campus OCF chapters led by talented students, clergy, and lay advisors as well as through programs such as Regional Retreats, College Conference, Real Break, and the Summer Leadership Institute. May our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ who calls all of us to contribute to the ministry of His Church guide and strengthen all of our cherished and blessed Orthodox college students.
