5 Introduction POWERFIX PDM 250 A1 Thank you for purchasing a POWERFIX product. The POWERFIX Digital Multimeter PDM 250 A1, referred to below as multimeter, is used to measure AC/DC voltages and AC/DC currents. The multimeter also has a battery test, a resistance measurement, a diode test and a continuity test. Intended use This multimeter is not designed for commercial use or installation and operation in a company. This multimeter may only be used for private purposes, and any other use is not as intended. This multimeter meets all relevant norms and standards in conjunction with CE conformity. In the event of any modification to the multimeter that was not approved by the manufacturer, compliance with these standards is no longer guaranteed. The manufacturer does not accept any liability for any resulting damage or faults in such cases. Please observe the regulations and laws in the country of use. English - 3

10 Electrical devices do not belong in the hands of children. Persons with disabilities should also only use electrical devices within the scope of their abilities. Never allow children or persons with disabilities to use electrical devices unsupervised. They may not recognise potential risks. Batteries and small parts may cause choking resulting in death or serious injury. Store the battery in a safe place. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical help immediately. Also always keep plastic packaging out of reach as it poses a suffocation risk! If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual sounds or smells, stop measuring immediately. In these cases, the multimeter should not be used until it has been inspected by authorised service personnel. Never inhale smoke from a potential device fire. If you have inhaled smoke, however, consult a doctor. The inhalation of smoke can be harmful. The test probes may be handled only behind the finger protection as otherwise there is a risk of an electric shock when measuring! If the multimeter or the test probes are damaged (including test lead), they must not be used. It poses an electric shock risk! Pay particular attention to your safety when dealing with AC voltages over 30V or DC voltages over 60V. It poses an electric shock risk! Never operate the multimeter when the housing is open. It poses an electric shock risk! Ensure that you do not touch the test probes and the jacks to be measured during a measurement in order to avoid an electric shock. Do not use the multimeter in wet or damp environments. Also ensure that your hands and shoes are dry as there is a risk of an electric shock otherwise! Do not use the multimeter in the vicinity of explosive gases or vapours or in a dusty environment. It poses a risk of explosion! Ensure that no fire sources (e.g. burning candles) are placed on or near the multimeter. It poses a fire hazard! Do not exceed the maximum specified input values for the individual measuring ranges. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. The multimeter must be disconnected from the test object before changing the measuring range as the multimeter could be damaged otherwise. 8 - English

11 When working with the test probes, first connect the black test lead to the COM jack before you connect the red test lead. When disconnecting the test probes, first remove the red test probe. Never connect a voltage source to the test probes if the areas continuity test, resistance measurement, diode test and current measurement are selected. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. The multimeter may not be exposed to any direct heat sources (e.g. heating) or any direct sunlight or artificial light. Also avoid contact with dripping water and splashes and corrosive liquids. Never operate the multimeter near water. In particular, the multimeter should never be submerged in liquid (do not place any items filled with liquid, e.g. vases or drinks on the multimeter). Also ensure that the multimeter is not exposed to any excessive shocks or vibrations. Furthermore, no foreign objects may penetrate the multimeter. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. 12 Inserting/changing the battery The multimeter is powered by a 9V battery. To insert or replace the battery, proceed as follows: Switch off the multimeter and remove all test leads before opening the multimeter! If the battery is exhausted, the icon appears on the display [1]. The battery should be replaced as soon as possible to ensure that the multimeter continues to work properly. Remove the holster [2]. Remove the two screws on the back of the multimeter and remove the back panel. Connect the 9V battery with the correct polarity (note + and ) to the battery clip and place the 9V battery in the battery compartment. Replace the back panel and screw it tight with the two screws. Re-insert the multimeter in the holster [2] English

13 First use POWERFIX PDM 250 A1 Never exceed the maximum permissible input values. Before measuring, remove the cover of the test probes [7] and the test lead and switch on the multimeter by pressing the on/off button [10]. The multimeter has an auto power OFF function and switches itself off automatically after longer periods of non-use. However, you can also switch off the multimeter directly with the on/off button [10]. You obtain a more accurate measurement result if you use the smallest possible measuring range. Overflow indicator The multimeter has an overflow indicator. If a measured value exceeds the range limit of the selected measuring range, "1" is indicated on the display [1]. In this case, switch to a higher measuring range immediately if possible, or remove the test probes [7] from the test object. DC voltage measurement Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the V/Ω jack [6]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the desired range in the DC voltage measuring range V. If you do not know the voltage, first set the highest possible measuring range and then reduce it gradually to the lower ranges until you obtain a satisfactory measurement result. Connect the test probes [7] to the test object. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. A negative sign is indicated in front of the measured value for a negative measurement result. AC voltage measurement Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the V/Ω jack [6]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the desired range in the AC voltage measuring range V~. If you do not know the voltage, first set the highest possible measuring range and then reduce it gradually to the lower ranges until you obtain a satisfactory measurement result. Connect the test probes [7] to the test object. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. English - 11

14 AC current measurement Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the 10A jack [8] (for currents > 200mA) or to the ma/batt jack [9] (for currents < 200mA). Set the range selector switch [4] to the desired range in the AC current measuring range A~. If you do not know the current, first set the highest possible measuring range and then reduce it gradually to the lower ranges until you obtain a satisfactory measurement result. Connect the test probes [7] in series to the test object. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. DC current measurement Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the 10A jack [8] (for currents > 200mA) or to the ma/batt jack [9] (for currents < 200mA). Set the range selector switch [4] to the desired range in the DC current measuring range A. If you do not know the current, first set the highest possible measuring range and then reduce it gradually to the lower ranges until you obtain a satisfactory measurement result. Connect the test probes [7] in series to the test object. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. A negative sign is indicated in front of the measured value for a negative measurement result. Battery test Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the ma/batt jack [9]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the corresponding battery voltage range 1.5V or 9V in the BATT range. Connect the red test probe [7] to the positive pole and the black test probe [7] to the negative pole of the battery. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. In the measuring ranges BATT 1.5V and BATT 9V, the battery to be measured is charged by an internal resistance, thus you obtain practical information on the condition and functionality of the tested battery English

15 Resistance measurement POWERFIX PDM 250 A1 Ensure that all circuit elements, circuits and components to be measured and other test objects are completely switched off and discharged. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the V/Ω jack [6]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the desired range in the Ω measuring range. Connect the test probes [7] to the test object. The measurement result is then indicated on the display [1]. For resistances > 1MΩ, the measurement may take a few seconds. In this case, wait until the measured value has stabilised. The test probes [7] should be handled only behind the finger protection to avoid a distorted measurement result. For measurements of low resistances (200Ω range), the internal resistance of the test leads can lead to a distorted result. To avoid such an error, note the value of the measurement for short-circuited test probes and deduct this from the value of the actual measurement. Continuity test Ensure that all circuit elements, circuits and components to be measured and other test objects are completely switched off and discharged. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the V/Ω jack [6]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the position in the Ω measuring range. Connect the test probes [7] to the test object. If the resistance is less than approximately 60Ω, the buzzer sounds and the measurement result is indicated on the display [1]. English - 13

16 Diode test Ensure that all circuit elements, circuits and components to be measured and other test objects are completely switched off and discharged. Otherwise, the multimeter could be damaged. Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [5] and the red test lead to the V/Ω jack [6]. Set the range selector switch [4] to the position in the Ω measuring range. Connect the red test probe [7] to the anode and the black test probe [7] to the cathode of the diode to be tested. The forward voltage is indicated in volts on the display [1]. If "1" is displayed on the display [1], the diode is measured in the reverse biased-direction or the diode is defective. Perform an opposite pole measurement for check purposes. HOLD function A measured value on the display [1] can be saved by pressing the HOLD button [3]. Press the HOLD button [3] again to return to the measuring mode English

17 One-hand operation POWERFIX PDM 250 A1 You can also use the multimeter with one hand. To do so, insert a test probe [7] in one of the slots on the back of the holster [2]. You can then perform your measurements as usual without having to put down the multimeter. Setting up/hanging up the multimeter You can set up or hang up the multimeter using the holster [2]. Open out the stand at the back of the holster [2] to set up the multimeter. There is also a slot above the stand to facilitate hanging up the multimeter. Cleaning / maintenance Maintenance Maintenance work is necessary if the multimeter has been damaged or if liquid or objects have penetrated inside the housing, the multimeter has been exposed to rain or moisture or if it does not work correctly or has been dropped. In these cases, the multimeter should not be used until it has been inspected by authorised service personnel. Only have qualified personnel carry out the maintenance work on the device. 18 Replacing the fuse To replace the fuse, proceed as follows: Switch off the multimeter and remove all test leads before opening the multimeter! Remove the holster [2]. Remove the two screws on the back of the multimeter and remove the back panel. Replace the fuse with another of the same type. Replace the back panel and screw it tight with the two screws. Re-insert the multimeter in the holster [2] English

19 Cleaning POWERFIX PDM 250 A1 Switch off the multimeter and remove all test leads before cleaning the multimeter! Use a dry cloth for cleaning and never use any solvent or cleaner that would corrode the plastic materials. Ensure that no liquid enters the housing. Use a slightly damp cloth for more stubborn dirt. Environmental and disposal information When this symbol appears on a product, this indicates that the product is subject to the European Directive 2002/96/EC. All old electrical and electronic devices must be separated from normal household waste and disposed of at designated state facilities. The correct disposal of old devices in this manner will prevent environmental pollution and human health hazards. For further information about proper disposal, contact your local authorities, waste disposal office or the shop where you bought the device. Remember to protect the environment. Used batteries should not be disposed of in domestic waste. They must be taken to a collection point for old batteries. Please note that only discharged batteries may be deposited in collection bins for portable batteries. Care must be taken to ensure that batteries that are not fully discharged do not short circuit. Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally compatible manner. Cardboard can be put out for municipal paper collections or brought to public collection points for recycling. Films and plastic used for packaging the device are collected by your local disposal services and disposed of in an environmentally compatible manner. POWERFIX digitalni multimetar PDM 250 A1, niže u tekstu pod nazivom multimetar, omogućit će Vam mjerenje istosmjernih/izmjeničnih napona i istosmjernih/izmjeničnih struja. Multimetar osim toga posjeduje funkcije kao što su test baterije, mjerenje otpora, test dioda i provjeru provodljivosti. Namjenska uporaba Ovaj multimetar nije predviđen za korištenje u poduzeću tj. za komercijalnu uporabu. Koristite ovaj multimetar isključivo za privatnu uporabu jer svako drugo korištenje nije u skladu s namjenom. Ovaj multimetar ispunjava sve norme i standarde vezane uz CE sukladnost. 27 Električne uređaje držite podalje od djece. I osobe s ograničenjima trebaju koristiti električne uređaje samo u okviru njihovih mogućnosti. U tim slučajevima ne smijete dalje koristiti multimetar prije nego ga pregleda stručna osoba. Nikada ne udišite dim nastao iz eventualnog požara uređaja. Ako ste ipak udahnuli dim, odmah potražite liječničku pomoć. Udisanje dima može biti štetno za zdravlje. Mjerni vrhovi smiju se uhvatiti tek iza zaštitnog izbočenja za prste jer u suprotnom tijekom mjerenja postoji opasnost od udara struje! U slučaju oštećenja multimetra ili mjernih vrhova (uklj. mjerni vod) potonji se ne smiju više koristiti. Postoji opasnost od udara struje! Na svoju sigurnost pazite posebno kod izmjeničnih napona većih od 30V tj. istosmjernih napona većih od 60V. Postoji opasnost od udara struje! Nikada ne koristite multimetar dok je kućište otvoreno. Ne koristite multimetar u mokroj tj. vlažnoj okolini. Nadalje obratite pozornost na to da su Vaše ruke i cipele suhi, inače postoji opasnost od udara struje! Ne koristite multimetar u blizini eksplozivnih plinova, para ili u prašnoj okolini. Postoji opasnost od eksplozija! Pazite na to da na ili pored multimetra ne stoje nikakvi otvoreni izvori požara (npr. svijeće koje gore). Postoji opasnost od požara! 28 Pri promjeni mjernog područja multimetar treba odvojiti od predmeta koji se mjeri jer bi ga u suprotnom mogli oštetiti. Kod radova s mjernim vrhovima spojite crni mjerni vod na COM priključak prije nego spojite crveni mjerni vod. Kada odvajate mjerne vrhove, najprije skinite crveni mjerni vrh. Nikada ne spajajte izvor napona s mjernim vrhovima kada su odabrana područja provjera provodljivosti, mjerenje otpora, test dioda ili mjerenje struje. U suprotnom možete oštetiti multimetar. Multimetar se ne smije izlagati izravnim izvorima topline (npr. grijanja), izravnoj sunčevoj svjetlosti ili umjetnom svjetlu. Izbjegavajte dodir s vodom koja prska ili kaplje te agresivnim tekućinama. Ne koristite multimetar u blizini vode. Multimetar se osobito ne smije nikada uranjati (ne postavljajte na njega nikakve predmete punjene tekućinama npr. vaze ili pića). Nadalje, obratite pozornost na to da multimetar ne izlažete pretjeranoj trešnji ni vibracijama. U multimetar ne smiju prodrijeti strane čestice jer se u suprotnom može oštetiti. 29 Umetanje/zamjena baterije Multimetar se koristi s jednom 9V blok baterijom. Da biste umetnuli tj. zamijenili bateriju, postupite na sljedeći način: Prije otvaranja multimetra isključite ga i skinite sve mjerne vodove! Kod istrošene baterije pojavljuje se simbol na zaslonu [1]. Za propisno funkcioniranje trebali biste sljedećom prilikom zamijeniti bateriju. Skinite zaštitno kućište [2]. Otpustite dva vijka na stražnjoj strani multimetra i skinite stražnju stijenku. Spojite 9V blok bateriju s ispravnim polovima (obratite pozornost na + i ) pomoću kopče baterije i umetnite 9V blok bateriju u pretinac baterije. Prije mjerenja skinite poklopac mjernih vrhova [7] i mjernog voda i uključite multimetar pritiskom tipke za uključivanje/isključivanje [10]. Multimetar posjeduje funkciju Auto Power-OFF i automatski se isključuje nakon dužeg nekorištenja. Međutim, multimetar možete ipak isključiti izravno pomoću tipke za uključivanje/isključivanje [10]. Dobit ćete precizniji rezultat mjerenje ako upotrijebite najmanje moguće mjerno područje. Prikaz prekoračenja Uređaj ima prikaz prekoračenja. U mjernim područjima BATT 1,5V i BATT 9V baterija koja se mjeri opterećena je internim otpornikom te ćete na taj način dobiti informaciju o stanju u skladu s praksom te informaciju o funkcionalnosti ispitane baterije. Mjerenje otpora Uvjerite se da svi uklopni dijelovi, sklopovi i komponente koje želite izmjeriti te drugi mjerni objekte sigurno nisu pod naponom i da su ispražnjeni. Multimetar se u suprotnom može oštetiti. Spojite crni mjerni vod s COM priključkom [5], a crveni mjerni vod s V/Ω priključkom [6]. Okrenite prekidač za odabir područja [4] u Ω mjernom području na željeno područje. Spojite mjerne vrhove [7] s mjernim objektom. Rezultat mjerenja prikazuje se na zaslonu [1]. Kod otpora > 1MΩ mjerenje po potrebi može trajati nekoliko sekundi. U tom slučaju pričekajte da se mjerna vrijednost stabilizira. Ako je otpor ispod oko 60Ω, oglašava se zujalo, a rezultat mjerenja prikazuje se na zaslonu [1]. Test dioda Uvjerite se da svi uklopni dijelovi, sklopovi i komponente koje želite izmjeriti te drugi mjerni objekte sigurno nisu pod naponom i da su ispražnjeni. Na zaslonu [1] se prikazuje propusni napon u voltima. Ako se na zaslonu [1] prikaže 1, dioda se mjeri u smjeru nevođenja ili je dioda neispravna. Radi kontrole izvedite mjerenje suprotnih polova. Funkcija HOLD Pritiskom na tipku HOLD [3], mjerna vrijednost može se pohraniti u zaslonu [1]. Da biste se vratili u mjerno područje, ponovo pritisnite tipku HOLD [3]. Hrvatski - 31

34 Jednoručni pogon Multimetar možete koristiti i u jednoručnom pogonu. U tu svrhu utaknite mjerni vrh [7] u neki od prihvata na stražnjoj strani zaštitnog kućišta [2]. Sada mjerenja možete uobičajeno provoditi, a da multimetar ne morate odložiti. Postavljanje/vješanje multimetra Multimetar možete postaviti tj. objesiti pomoću zaštitnog kućišta [2]. Za postavljanje multimetra rasklopite nosač na stražnjoj strani zaštitnog kućišta [2]. Iznad nosača nalazi se otvor u koji možete objesiti multimetar. Održavanje / čišćenje Održavanje Radovi održavanja potrebni su ako je multimetar oštećen, ako je u unutrašnjost kućišta prodrla voda ili predmeti, ako je bio izložen kiši ili vlazi, ako ne radi besprijekorno ili je pao. 35 Zamjena osigurača Da biste zamijenili osigurač, postupite na sljedeći način: Prije otvaranja multimetra isključite ga i skinite sve mjerne vodove! Skinite zaštitno kućište [2]. Otpustite dva vijka na stražnjoj strani multimetra i skinite stražnju stijenku. Zamijenite osigurač novim osiguračem istog tipa. Ponovo vratite stražnju stijenku i zavijte je pomoću dva vijka. 36 Čišćenje Prije čišćenja multimetra isključite ga i skinite sve mjerne vodove! Za čišćenje koristite suhu krpu, ne otapala ili sredstva za čišćenje poda koji nagrizaju plastiku. Osigurajte da u kućište ne može prodrijeti nikakva tekućina. U slučaju veće prljavštine upotrijebite samo lagano navlaženu krpu. Upute u vezi zaštite okoliša i mjere zbrinjavanja Uređaji označeni ovim simbolom podliježu europskoj direktivi 2002/96/EC. Svi električni i elektronički uređaji trebaju se zbrinuti odvojeno od kućnog otpada na službeno predviđenim mjestima. Zahvaljujući propisnom zbrinjavanju starih uređaja izbjegavate štete po okoliš i ne ugrožavate osobno zdravlje. Daljnje informacije o zbrinjavanju starih uređaja dobit ćete kod gradske uprave, u službi za zbrinjavanje ili u trgovini u kojoj ste kupili uređaj. Brinite se o zaštiti okoliša. Prazne baterije se ne bacaju u kućanski otpad. Trebate ih predati na sabirno mjesto za stare baterije. Uzmite u obzir da se baterije samo u ispražnjenom stanju smiju predati u sabirni spremnik za stare baterije uređaja, odnosno kod baterija koje nisu u potpunosti ispražnjene treba poduzeti mjere predostrožnosti od kratkih spojeva. I ambalažu zbrinite neškodljivo za okoliš. Karton se može predati na mjestima za skupljanje starog papira ili na javnim sabiralištima za recikliranje. Folije i plastika, koji se isporučuju, predaju se lokalnom komunalnom poduzeća i zbrinjavaju neškodljivo za okoliš. Multimetrul digital POWERFIX PDM 250 A1, denumit în continuare "multimetru" vă permite măsurarea tensiunilor şi intensităţilor curentului continuu/alternativ. În plus multimetrul este dotat şi cu un test pentru baterii, cu un modul de măsurare a rezistenţei, cu un tester pentru diode şi verificator de continuitate. Utilizare conform destinaţiei Acest multimetru nu este destinat funcţionării într-o întreprindere, respectiv pentru utilizare profesională. Utilizaţi aparatul exclusiv în domeniul privat, orice altă utilizare nu este conformă cu destinaţia. 44 Aparatele electrice nu trebuie să ajungă la îndemâna copiilor! De asemenea, persoanele cu dizabilităţi ar trebui să folosească aparatele electrice numai în limita posibilităţilor. Nu lăsaţi niciodată copiii şi persoanele cu dizabilităţi să utilizeze aparatele electrice, fără supraveghere. Aceste grupe de persoane nu pot recunoaşte întotdeauna în mod corect pericolele potenţiale. Bateriile şi piesele mici pot prezenta pericol de moarte dacă sunt înghiţite. Păstraţi bateriile într-un loc inaccesibil. Dacă a fost înghiţită o baterie, trebuie să apelaţi imediat la ajutor medical. Nu păstraţi aproape nici folia de ambalaj. Există pericol de asfixiere! În cazul în care observaţi fum, zgomote sau mirosuri neobişnuite, opriţi imediat măsurarea. În astfel de situaţii aparatul nu mai poate fi utilizat în continuare, înainte să fie verificat de către un specialist. În niciun caz nu inhalaţi fumul dintr-un posibil aparat ars. Dacă totuşi aţi inhalat fum, consultaţi imediat un medic. Inhalarea fumului poate dăuna sănătăţii. Vârfurile de măsurare trebuie apucate numai din spatele gulerului de protecţie pentru degete, deoarece în timpul măsurării există pericol de electrocutare. În cazul deteriorărilor multimetrului sau vârfurilor de măsurare (inclusiv cablului de măsurare) nu mai este permisă utilizarea acestora. Există pericol de electrocutare! Aveţi în vedere în mod special siguranţa dumneavoastră la tensiuni ale curentului alternativ ce depăşesc 30V, respectiv la tensiuni ale curentului continuu ce depăşesc 60V. Există pericol de electrocutare! Nu utilizaţi niciodată multimetrul cu carcasa deschisă. Există pericol de electrocutare! Fiţi atenţi să nu atingeţi vârfurile de măsurare şi racordurile care trebuie măsurate în timpul măsurării, pentru a preveni electrocutarea. Nu utilizaţi multimetrul în medii cu o umiditate relativă a aerului. Fiţi atenţi în continuare ca mâinile şi încălţămintea dumneavoastră să fie uscate, deoarece în caz contrar există pericol de electrocutare! Nu utilizaţi multimetrul în apropierea gazelor, vaporilor explozibili sau în medii cu praf. Există pericol de explozie! Înainte de schimbarea domeniului de măsurare, multimetrul trebuie separat de obiectul de măsurat, deoarece în caz contrar multimetrul se poate deteriora. La lucrul cu vârfurile de măsurare, se conectează mai întâi cablul de măsurare negru la conexiunea COM, înainte de a conecta cablul de măsurare roşu. Când se decuplează vârfurile de măsurare, se îndepărtează mai întâi vârful de măsurare roşu. Nu legaţi niciodată o sursă de tensiune la vârfurile de măsurare, dacă sunt selectate domeniile de verificare a continuităţii, de măsurare a rezistenţei sau de măsurare a curentului În caz contrar, multimetrul ar putea fi deteriorat. Este interzis ca multimetrul să fie expus surselor directe de căldură (de exemplu, radiatoare) sau luminii directe, solare sau artificiale. Evitaţi şi contactul cu apa care picură şi stropeşte şi cu lichidele agresive. Nu utilizaţi multimetrul în apropierea apei. În special, multimetrul nu trebuie să fie niciodată scufundat în apă (nu aşezaţi obiecte pline cu lichid în apropierea multimetrului, de exemplu, vaze sau băuturi). Asiguraţi-vă că multimetrul să nu este expus oscilaţiilor şi vibraţiilor excesive. În plus, nu este permisă pătrunderea impurităţilor în interiorul aparatului. În caz contrar, multimetrul ar putea fi deteriorat.
