They contain important information on safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all handling and safety guidelines. This appliance may only be used as described and for the purposes indicated. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner(s). Intended use This appliance is intended exclusively for deep-frying foods in domestic households. This appliance is intended solely for use in private homes. Do not use it for commercial purposes. Use the appliance only in dry places, and never use it outdoors. WARNING Danger if not used for the intended purpose! The appliance may pose a hazard if it is not used for its intended purpose and/or if it is used for any other purpose. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. GB NOTE Check the consignment for completeness and for signs of visible damage. If the consignment is incomplete or damaged due to defective packaging or carriage, contact the Service hotline (see the chapter Service). Disposal of packaging materials The packaging protects the device from damage during carriage. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable. Returning the packaging to the materials cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials which are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations. 8 Safety guidelines RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp when the appliance is in use. Route the cable so that it cannot be trapped or damaged in any way. Connect the appliance to a mains socket with a mains voltage of 230 V ~, 50 Hz. To prevent accidents, have defective plugs and/or power cables replaced immediately by a qualifi ed specialist technician or our Customer Service department. Never submerge the operating/heating element and the housing with the power cable in water, and do not clean these components under running water. GB WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! This appliance must not to be used by children under the age of 8. This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and above if they are under constant supervision. This appliance may be used by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks. The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from children younger than 8 years old. Cleaning and maintenance may not be carried out by children. Provide a stable location for the appliance. Do not operate the appliance if it has fallen down or is damaged in any way. 9 GB WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Hot steam is generated during the deep-frying process, especially when the lid is open. Keep a safe distance away from the steam. Ensure that all parts are completely dry before pouring oil or liquid fat into the deep fat fryer. Otherwise, hot oil or fat could splatter out. Carefully pat all foodstuff s dry before placing them in the deep fat fryer. Otherwise, hot oil or fat could splatter out. Be especially careful with frozen foodstuff s. Remove any ice that may have formed on them. The more ice there is on the foodstuff, the more the hot oil or fat will splatter. Some parts of the appliance become very hot during operation. Touching these may cause serious burns. The appliance should be set up in a stable position using the handles to avoid spillage of hot liquids. WARNING! RISK OF FIRE! Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance. Never melt solid fat (fat in blocks) in the deep fat fryer. Due to the high temperatures that are generated before the fat covers the heating element, the heating element can be damaged or there could be a fi re! Melt the fat beforehand in a saucepan or similar. 6 SEF A1

10 WARNING! RISK OF FIRE! Do not use the appliance near hot surfaces. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is being used. GB Caution! Hot surface! Never use water to extinguish a fire in the deep fat fryer! Old or dirty fats and oils can spontaneously ignite if overheated. Change the oils or fats regularly. In the case of a fi re, remove the plug from the mains power socket and smother the burning fat or oil with a blanket. CAUTION APPLIANCE DAMAGE! When fi lling the frying container with fat, never fi ll it to above the MAX marking or to below the MIN marking. Whenever you intend to switch the appliance on, fi rst ensure that there is suffi cient oil or fat in the deep fat fryer. Never switch the appliance on if there is no oil or liquid fat in it. Otherwise the appliance may overheat. This deep fat fryer is suitable only for frying foodstuff s. It is not designed for cooking liquids. Before initial use 1) Before you use the deep fat fryer for the fi rst time, please clean all individual components thoroughly and carefully dry them (see chapter "Cleaning"). Low-acrylamide cooking Acrylamide is a possibly carcinogenic substance formed from a reaction with amino acids when frying foodstuff s with a high starch content. The formation of acrylamide increases dramatically at temperatures of more than 175 C. You should therefore avoid frying foodstuff s with a high starch content, for example chips, at temperatures above 170 C. The foodstuff s should only be fried to golden-yellow, instead of dark or brown. This is the only way to achieve low-acrylamide cooking. SEF A1 7

11 GB Deep frying We recommend cooking oil or liquid cooking fat for use in this deep fat fryer. You can also use solid cooking fats. Read the chapter "Solid cooking fats" for more information. Preparation 1) Place the appliance on a horizontal, level, stable and heat-resistant surface. NOTE If you wish to place the deep fat fryer below the cooker extraction hood, ensure that the cooker is switched off. 2) Unwind the entire length of the power cable from the cable spool 6. 3) Press the lid release button 5. The appliance lid fl ips open. 4) Remove the frying baskets 3/w and attach the handles q either to the two small frying baskets w or the large frying basket 3: Press the rods of the handle q together so that the holding pins can be inserted into the eyelets on the frying basket 3/w: 8 SEF A1

12 Loosen your grip on the compressed rods on the handle q so that the holding pins project into the holes: GB TIPS The handle q now sits securely on the frying basket 3/w. Proceed in the same way with the second handle. Only use oils or fats which are specifi cally labelled as non-foaming and are suitable for deep frying. This information is to be found on the packaging or the label. Never mix diff erent types of oil or fat! The deep fat fryer could froth over. 5) Fill the dry and empty frying container 4 with cooking oil, liquid or molten fat (about 4 litres of oil or about 3.5 kg of solid fat). NOTE When fi lling the frying container 4 with oil or fat, never fi ll it to above the MAX marking or to below the MIN marking. 6) Insert the mains plug into the mains power socket. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK The power cable must not come into contact with the hot parts of the deep fat fryer. Risk of electric shock! 7) Replace the frying basket 3 (or the small frying baskets w). 8) Now close the lid. SEF A1 9

13 GB Frying foods CAUTION PROPERTY DAMAGE! Never operate the deep fat fryer without oil/fat! NOTE You can either suspend the large basket 3, both small frying baskets w or just one of the small frying baskets w in the appliance to fry food. In the example described here, only the large frying basket 3 is used. Proceed in exactly the same way when using the small frying baskets w. 1) Switch on the deep fat fryer using the On/Off switch 8. The Power control lamp 0 lights up. 2) Turn the temperature control 7 to the desired temperature. The cooking oil or the fat is now heated up to the required temperature. When the required temperature has been reached, the Ready control lamp 9 lights up. NOTE The correct frying temperature is to be found either on the packaging of the food to be deep-fried or in the frying times table in these operating instructions. A rough guide as to which foods should be fried at which temperature is provided by the fi gures on the front of the deep fat fryer: Symbol Food Temperature Prawns 130 C Chicken 150 C Chips (fresh) 170 C Fish 190 C The values given are only for guidance. The temperature can vary depending on the properties of the foods and personal taste! 10 SEF A1

14 WARNING RISK OF INJURY! The lid and the deep fat fryer become extremely hot during the deep-frying process. Therefore, do not touch anything except the handles during deepfrying! Risk of burns! We recommend the use of oven gloves. 3) Press the lid release button 5. GB WARNING RISK OF INJURY! Take care when fi lling the frying basket 3! It will be extremely hot! 4) Lift the frying basket 3 out of the deep fat fryer. Add the food to be fried. The frying basket 3 can be fi lled up to the MAX. fi ll level marked on the inside of the frying basket 3 or with up to 1 kg of food for frying. However, always take note of the frying quantity indicated on the packaging of the food to be deep-fried! 5) Carefully lower the frying basket 3 into the hot oil or fat. 6) Close the lid of the appliance. NOTE The frying process can be monitored through the viewing window 1 in the lid of the appliance. Solid cooking fats To prevent fat from spraying and the appliance from becoming too hot, please take the following precautions when using solid frying fat: When using fresh fat, start by melting the blocks of fat slowly, under low heat, in a separate pan. Then carefully pour the molten fat into the deep fat fryer. Only when this has been done, insert the plug into a mains power socket and switch the deep fat fryer on. After use, store the deep fat fryer with the solidifi ed fat at room temperature. If the fat gets too cold, it could splatter out upon re-melting! To avoid this, pierce a few holes into the solidifi ed fat with a wooden or plastic skewer. Ensure that you do not damage the coating of the frying container 4. To melt the fat, switch on the appliance using the On/Off switch 8 and set the temperature control 7 to 130 C. The Power control lamp 0 lights up. Wait until all of the fat has melted. The Ready control lamp 9 may come on and go out several times during this process. Do not set the desired frying temperature until all of the fat has melted. SEF A1 11

15 GB After deep-frying WARNING RISK OF INJURY! Never touch the frying basket 3 directly after frying. It will be extremely hot! Lift the frying basket 3 out of the deep fat fryer only by the handles q! 1) When the fried food is ready, press the lid release button 5 so that the lid pops open. 2) Lift the frying basket 3 and hook it onto the rim of the appliance so that excess fat can drip off. 3) Press the On/Off switch 8. The deep fat fryer is now switched off. Remove the plug from the mains power socket. 4) Once the fried food has dripped dry, carefully lift the frying basket 3 out of the deep fat fryer. 5) Tip the fried food into a bowl or a sieve (lined with absorbent kitchen paper!). If you do not use the deep fat fryer regularly, it is advisable to store the cooled oil in well-sealed bottles or other frying containers preferably in the refrigerator or a similar cool storage location. Fill the bottles through a fi ne sieve in order to remove any food particles from the oil. Changing the cooking oil or fat Do not change the oil until it has completely cooled down. Solid fats must still be in a slightly liquid state so that they can be poured. 1) Press the lid release button 5 and remove the lid (see chapter "Cleaning and care"). 2) Remove the frying basket 3. 3) Hold the appliance by the side handles and pour out the oil or fat via one of the corners into suitable containers, e.g. bottles. Preferably use a small funnel to do this. NOTE The disposal of cooking oils and fats is regulated diff erently in every community or town. Disposal of such oils or fats in the normal household refuse is often prohibited. Make enquiries at your local community or town administration offi ce about suitable disposal methods. 12 SEF A1

16 4) Thoroughly clean all parts of the deep fat fryer as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care". 5) Refi ll the deep fat fryer with fresh oil or fat as described in the chapter "Deep frying". GB Cleaning and care WARNING RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before cleaning the appliance. Under no circumstances may the appliance or parts of it be submersed in liquids! This could result in a potentially fatal electric shock, and the appliance could be damaged. WARNING RISK OF BURNS! Allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it. CAUTION PROPERTY DAMAGE! When cleaning the components, do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or materials such as scouring milk or steel wool. These could damage the upper surface of the appliance! To simplify cleaning, dismantle the deep fat fryer: 1) Open the appliance lid as far as possible, push it backwards a little and then pull it upwards and off its hinge supports. 2) Remove the frying basket 3 (or the small frying baskets w). The frying baskets 3/w can be cleaned in the dishwasher. They are suitable for dishwashers. However, remove the handles q beforehand. Clean the handles q in warm water using a mild detergent. Then rinse off with clear water. Clean the housing and the frying container 4 with a damp cloth. If required, use a mild detergent on the cloth. Afterwards, wipe clean with a cloth moistened only with water to ensure that no detergent remains in the frying container 4. Dry the housing and the frying container 4 thoroughly. SEF A1 13

17 GB Clean the appliance lid in warm water using a mild detergent. Rinse the appliance lid off with clear water. Dry the appliance lid well and then place it upright on its side so that any excess water still inside the lid can drain away. Be aware that the lid must be completely dry before re-use! 3) Dry all parts well before reassembly. Storage Tips 1) Lift or carry the appliance using the side handles on the housing. 2) Wind the cable around the cable spool 6 on the rear of the appliance and fasten it with the cable clip. 3) Store the appliance with the appliance lid closed. This will keep the inside of the deep fat fryer clean and free of dust. Home-made chips Potatoes intended for frying should be in good condition and not germinating. Use potato varieties that are suitable for frying, such as those that are "fl oury" or "primarily waxy". After peeling, cut the potatoes according to the intended preparation (chips or wedges). Soak the potatoes for about one hour prior to use. This will help remove part of the sugar content, which is one of the constituent products for the formation of acrylamide. Carefully dry the potatoes. Always fry home-made potatoes twice: fi rst for minutes at 150 C then for 3 4 minutes at 170 C, depending on the desired degree of browning. Deep-frozen chips are pre-cooked and thus only need to be fried once. Comply with the instructions on the packaging. 14 SEF A1

18 Deep-frozen foods Deep-frozen foodstuff s (-16 C to -18 C) cool the oil or fat to a considerable extent, because of this they do not cook fast enough and may also soak up too much oil or fat. To avoid this, proceed as follows: Do not attempt to deep-fry large amounts all at once. Do not fi ll the frying basket 3 (or the small frying baskets w) to more than the Max. fi ll level marked on the inside of the frying basket. Heat the oil for at least 15 minutes before adding the frozen foods. Adjust the temperature control 7 to the temperature specifi ed in these operating instructions or on the packaging of the food to be deep-fried. Preferably, allow the deep-frozen food to thaw at room temperature prior to deep-frying. Remove as much ice and water as possible before adding the food into the deep fat fryer. Always add foods as slowly and carefully as possible into the deep fat fryer, as deep-frozen foods can cause the oil or fat to bubble violently and abruptly. How to prevent unwanted after-taste Some foodstuff s, especially fi sh, release fl uids when being deep-fried. These fl uids collect in the oil or fat and can impair the smell and taste of foods that are later deep-fried in the same oil or fat. Proceed as follows to obtain neutral-tasting oil or fat: Heat the fat or oil to 150 C and place two thin slices of bread or a couple of small sprigs of parsley in the frying basket 3. Lower the frying basket 3 (or the small frying baskets w into the fat and close the lid. Wait until the oil or fat is no longer bubbling and remove the bread or parsley with a skimmer. The oil or fat now has a neutral taste once again. GB SEF A1 15

19 GB Healthy nutrition Nutrition experts recommend the use of vegetable oils and fats containing unsaturated fatty acids (e.g. linoleic acid). However, these oils and fats lose their benefi cial properties faster than other oils and must therefore be exchanged more frequently. Orient yourself on the following guidelines: Exchange the oil or fat regularly. If you use the deep fat fryer mainly to prepare chips, and strain the oil or fat after every use, it can be used 10 to 12 times. However, do not use the oil or fat for longer than six months. Always follow the instructions provided on the packaging. As a general rule, oils and fats cannot be used so often if you mainly deep-fry protein-rich foods, such as meat or fi sh. Do not mix fresh oil with used oil. Change the oil or fat if it foams on being heated, if it develops a strong taste or odour, if it becomes dark and/or if it develops a syrupy consistency. 16 SEF A1

Should these details diff er from those shown on the packaging of the food to be deep-fried, please observe the instructions provided on the packaging. GB Food Temperature (approx.) 21 GB Troubleshooting PROBLEM The appliance is not working. or The Power control lamp 0 does not light up. The Ready control lamp 9 does not light up. POSSIBLE CAUSE The appliance is not connected to a mains power socket. The appliance is damaged. The On/Off switch 8 has not been activated. The thermal cut-out has been triggered. The selected temperature for the cooking oil/fat has not been reached. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS Connect the appliance to a mains power socket. Contact the Customer Service department. Press the On/Off switch 8. Switch the device off at the On/Off switch 8 and disconnect the mains power plug from the mains power socket. Wait until the appliance has cooled down. Wait a few minutes until the required temperature has been reached. If the malfunction cannot be corrected with the above suggestions, or if you have found some other kind of malfunction, please contact our Customer Service department. Appendix Disposal of the appliance Under no circumstances should you dispose of the appliance in normal household waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU. Dispose of the appliance via an approved waste disposal company or your municipal waste disposal facility. Please observe applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal facility if you are in any doubt. Notes on the EC Declaration of Conformity With regard to conformity with essential requirements and other relevant provisions, this appliance complies with the guidelines of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC, the Directive for Low Voltage Appliances 2006/95/EC and the ERP Directive 2009/125/EC. Aparatul poate genera pericole în cazul în care nu este utilizat conform destinaţiei şi/sau dacă este utilizat în alt mod decât cel descris. Utilizaţi aparatul numai în conformitate cu destinaţia. 26 Furnitura În mod standard, aparatul este livrat cu următoarele componente: Friteuză din oţel inoxidabil 3 Coşuri de prăjire 2 mânere de susţinere instrucţiuni de utilizare 1) Scoateţi toate componentele aparatului şi instrucţiunile de utilizare din cutie. 2) Îndepărtaţi de pe aparat toate ambalajele şi eventualele folii de protecţie. RO INDICAŢIE Verifi caţi dacă furnitura este completă şi dacă prezintă deteriorări vizibile. În cazul în care furnitura este incompletă sau dacă componentele sunt deteriorate din cauza ambalajului precar sau a transportului, apelaţi linia telefonică directă de service (a se vedea capitolul Service). Eliminarea ambalajului Ambalajul protejează aparatul împotriva deteriorărilor în timpul transportului. Materialele de ambalat sunt alese conform compatibilităţii acestora cu mediul şi aspectelor tehnice privind eliminarea, fi ind astfel reciclabile. Reintroducerea ambalajelor în circuitul de materiale contribuie la economia de materie primă şi reduce cantitatea de deşeuri. Eliminaţi ambalajul de care nu mai aveţi nevoie conform prevederilor locale în vigoare. INDICAŢIE Dacă este posibil, păstraţi ambalajul original al aparatului pe perioada garanţiei pentru a putea ambala aparatul corespunzător în caz de utilizare a garanţiei. SEF A1 23

28 Indicaţii de siguranţă PERICOL DE ELECTROCUTARE Nu permiteţi contactul cablului cu lichide sau umezirea acestuia atâta timp cât aparatul este în funcţiune. Ghidaţi cablul astfel încât să nu se blocheze sau să se deterioreze într-un alt mod. Conectaţi aparatul la o priză cu tensiunea de 230 V ~, 50 Hz. Pentru a evita pericolele, solicitaţi imediat înlocuirea de către personalul de specialitate autorizat sau de către serviciul tehnic al acestuia a ştecherelor sau a cablurilor de alimentare deteriorate. Nu introduceţi niciodată în apă elementul de operare / încălzire şi carcasa cu cablul de reţea şi nu le curăţaţi sub jet de apă. RO AVERTIZARE! PERICOL DE RĂNIRE! Nu este permisă utilizarea acestui aparat de către copii cu vârsta între 0 şi 8 ani. Acest aparat poate fi utilizat de copii începând cu vârsta de 8 ani cu condiţia ca aceştia să fi e supravegheaţi permanent. Acest aparat poate fi utilizat de persoane cu abilităţi fi zice, senzoriale sau mintale reduse sau fără experienţă şi/sau fără cunoştinţe necesare, dacă sunt supravegheate sau dacă au fost instruite cu privire la utilizarea sigură a acestui aparat şi au înţeles pericolele legate de acesta. Nu lăsaţi aparatul şi cablul de conexiune la îndemâna copiilor cu vârste sub 8 ani. Curăţarea şi acţiunile de întreţinere la nivel de utilizator nu pot fi efectuate de către copii. Asiguraţi stabilitatea aparatului. Nu mai utilizaţi aparatul dacă a căzut sau dacă este deteriorat. În aceste cazuri, aparatul trebuie verifi cat, respectiv reparat de către un specialist califi cat. 29 RO AVERTIZARE! PERICOL DE RĂNIRE! În timpul procesului de prăjire sunt emanaţi aburi fi erbinţi, în special când deschideţi capacul. Păstraţi o distanţă de siguranţă faţă de aburi. Înainte de a turna ulei sau grăsime lichidă în friteuză asiguraţi-vă că toate părţile componente sunt complet uscate. În caz contrar, uleiul cald sau grăsimea caldă vă pot stropi. Ştergeţi de apă toate alimentele înainte de a le introduce în friteuză. În caz contrar, uleiul cald sau grăsimea caldă vă pot stropi. Procedaţi cu atenţie în special cu alimentele îngheţate. Îndepărtaţi toate bucăţile de gheaţă. Cu cât mai multă gheaţă se afl ă pe alimente, cu atât cantitatea de ulei sau grăsime împroşcată este mai mare. Componentele aparatului se încălzesc în timpul utilizării. Nu atingeţi aceste componente pentru a evita arderea pielii. Aparatul trebuie aşezat într-un loc stabil, cu ajutorul mânerelor, pentru a evita vărsarea lichidului fi erbinte. AVERTIZARE! PERICOL DE INCENDIU! Nu utilizaţi temporizatoare externe sau sisteme separate de telecomandă pentru operarea aparatului. Nu topiţi niciodată în friteuză bucăţi de grăsime. Din cauza temperaturii ridicate, elementul de încălzire se poate deteriora atâta timp cât încă nu este acoperit de grăsime sau se poate produce un incendiu. Înainte de a o utiliza, topiţi grăsimea într-o oală. 26 SEF A1

30 AVERTIZARE! PERICOL DE INCENDIU! Nu utilizaţi aparatul în apropierea suprafeţelor fi erbinţi. Nu lăsaţi aparatul nesupravegheat în timpul funcţionării. RO Atenţie! Suprafeţe fi erbinţi! Nu utilizaţi niciodată apă pentru stingerea friteuzei! Grăsimea sau uleiul vechi / cu impurităţi se aprind de la sine în caz de supraîncălzire. Înlocuiţi la timp uleiul sau grăsimea. În caz de incendiu scoateţi ştecherul din priză şi înăbuşiţi fl ăcările cu un capac. ATENŢIE! DAUNE ALE APARATULUI! Nu turnaţi niciodată mai multă grăsime în recipientul friteuzei decât până la marcajul MAX şi nici mai puţină decât până la marcajul MIN. Înainte de fi ecare pornire asiguraţi-vă că în aparat există o cantitate sufi cientă de grăsime sau ulei. Nu porniţi aparatul dacă în recipient nu se afl ă destul ulei sau grăsime lichidă. Altfel, aparatul se poate supraîncălzi. Friteuza poate fi utilizată numai pentru prăjirea alimentelor. Nu a fost concepută pentru fi erberea lichidelor. Înainte de prima utilizare 1) Înainte de prima utilizare a friteuzei curăţaţi temeinic părţile componente şi uscaţi-le bine (vezi capitolul Curăţare şi îngrijire ). Prepararea cu puţine acrilamide Acrilamida este o substanţă potenţial cancerigenă formată la prăjirea alimentelor cu conţinut ridicat de amidon, prin reacţia chimică cu aminoacizi. La temperaturi mai mari de 175 C formarea de acrilamidă creşte puternic. De aceea, nu prăjiţi alimentele care conţin mult amidon, de exemplu cartofi, la o temperatură mai mare de 170 C. Produsul ar trebui să aibă culoare auriu-gălbuie şi nu maroniu închis. Numai astfel veţi obţine preparate fără multe acrilamide. SEF A1 27

31 RO Prăjirea Pregătiri Pentru acest aparat vă recomandăm ulei special pentru friteuză sau grăsime lichidă pentru friteuză. Puteţi utiliza, de asemenea, şi grăsime solidă pentru prăjit. Pentru aceasta, citiţi mai întâi capitolul Grăsime solită de prăjit. 1) Aşezaţi aparatul pe o suprafaţă orizontală, plană, stabilă şi rezistentă la încălzire. INDICAŢIE Dacă doriţi să aşezaţi friteuza pe aragaz, sub hotă, asiguraţi-vă că aragazul este oprit. 2) Desfăşuraţi complet cablul de alimentare de pe tambur 6. 3) Apăsaţi butonul de deblocare a capacului 5. Capacul se deschide. 4) Scoateţi coşurile de prăjire 3/w şi fi xaţi mânerele, q fi e la cele două coşuri mai mici, w fi e la coşul mai mare 3: Apăsaţi pe tijele mânerului q pentru a le apropia una de alta, astfel încât bolţurile de fi xare să poată fi împinse din interior 3/w în urechile coşului: 28 SEF A1

32 Eliberaţi apoi tijele mânerului q, astfel încât bolţurile să pătrundă prin urechi: RO Mânerul q este acum fi xat rigid pe coşul de prăjire 3/w. Procedaţi la fel cu al doilea mâner. INDICAŢII Utilizaţi numai uleiuri sau grăsimi care nu produc spumă şi care sunt adecvate pentru prăjit. Aceste informaţii le găsiţi pe ambalaj sau pe etichetă. Nu amestecaţi niciodată sortimente diferite de ulei sau grăsimi! Friteuza ar putea produce spumă care curge din aparat. 5) Umpleţi cu ulei sau grăsime lichidă/topită (aprox. 4 l de ulei sau aprox. 3,5 kg de grăsime solidă) recipientul de prăjire 4 gol și uscat în prealabil. INDICAŢIE Nu depăşiţi niciodată marcajul MAX şi nu utilizaţi o cantitate mai mică de grăsime sau ulei care să nu atingă marcajul MIN din recipientul de prăjire 4 al friteuzei. 6) Introduceţi ștecărul în priză. PERICOL DE ELECTROCUTARE Cablul de alimentare nu trebuie să atingă componentele fi erbinţi ale friteuzei. Pericol de electrocutare! 7) Puneţi coşul de prăjire 3 (sau cele două coşuri mai mici w) înapoi. 8) Închideţi capacul. SEF A1 29

33 Prăjirea alimentelor RO ATENŢIE - PAGUBE MATERIALE! Nu folosiţi niciodată friteuza fără ulei/grăsime! INDICAŢIE Puteţi folosi fi e coşul de prăjire mare 3, ambele coşuri de prăjire mici w sau numai unul dintre cele două coşuri mici w atunci când prăjiţi alimente. Pentru exemplifi care, în cele ce urmează va fi descris numai coşul mare 3. Procedaţi la fel şi cu coşurile mici w. 1) Porniţi friteuza de la butonul de pornire 8. Becul de control alimentare 0 se aprinde. 2) Rotiţi regulatorul de temperatură 7 la temperatura dorită. Uleiul sau grăsimea este încălzită la temperatura dorită. Atunci când s-a atins temperatura dorită, se aprinde becul de control Aparat pregătit 9. INDICAŢIE Temperatura corectă de prăjire este indicată pe ambalajul produsului pe care doriţi să-l preparaţi sau în capitolul Tabel cu durate de prăjire din aceste instrucţiuni. Valori orientative pentru temperatura de prăjire a produselor se găsesc în imaginile de pe partea din spate a aparatului: Simbol Aliment Temperatură Creveţi 130 C Pui 150 C Cartofi prăjiţi (proaspeţi) 170 C Peşte 190 C Aceste valori sunt orientative. Temperatura poate varia în funcţie de caracteristicile produsului şi de preferinţele personale! 30 SEF A1

34 AVERTIZARE - PERICOL DE RĂNIRE! Capacul şi friteuza se înfi erbântă foarte tare în timpul prăjirii. Din acest motiv, pe durata prăjirii se va apuca numai mânerul capacului! Pericol de arsuri! Se recomandă utilizarea mănuşilor de bucătărie. 3) Apăsaţi butonul de deblocare a capacului 5. RO AVERTIZARE - PERICOL DE RĂNIRE! Fiţi atenţi la umplerea coşului 3! Coşul este extrem de fi erbinte! 4) Scoateţi coşul de prăjire 3 din friteuză. Adăugaţi produsul de preparat. Coşul de prăjire 3 se va umple cel mult până la marcajul MAX afl at în interiorul coşului 3 sau până când s-a încărcat în friteuză max. 1 kg de alimente pentru prăjit. Respectaţi întotdeauna cantităţile de prăjire specifi cate pe ambalajul produsului de preparat! 5) Coborâţi cu atenţie coşul de prăjire 3 în uleiul sau grăsimea fi erbinte. 6) Închideţi capacul aparatului. INDICAŢIE Prin fereastra de control 1 din capacul aparatului puteţi supraveghea prăjirea. Grăsime de prăjit solidă Pentru a evita împroşcarea grăsimii şi supraîncălzirea aparatului, luaţi următoarele măsuri atunci când utilizaţi grăsime de prăjit solidă: Înainte de utilizarea de grăsime proaspătă, topiţi bucata de grăsime într-o oală, la foc mic. Turnaţi în friteuză grăsimea topită. Introduceţi apoi ștecărul în priză şi porniţi friteuza. După utilizare, păstraţi friteuza cu grăsimea solidifi cată la temperatura camerei. Dacă grăsimea este prea rece, aceasta poate fi împroşcată la o nouă folosire! Pentru a evita acest lucru, înţepaţi grăsimea solidifi cată cu un beţișor de lemn sau plastic. Atenţie să nu deterioraţi stratul de acoperire al recipientului de prăjire 4! Pentru a topi grăsimea, porniţi aparatul de la butonul pornit / oprit 8 şi rotiţi regulatorul de temperatură 7 la 130 C. Becul de control Alimentare cu energie 0 se aprinde. Aşteptaţi până când toată grăsimea s-a topit. Becul de control Aparat pregătit 9 se poate aprinde şi stinge de mai multe ori. Setaţi temperatura de prăjire dorită abia după topirea întregii cantităţi de grăsime. SEF A1 31

35 După prăjire RO AVERTIZARE - PERICOL DE RĂNIRE! Nu puneţi niciodată mâna pe coşul de prăjire 3 imediat după prăjire. Coşul este extrem de fi erbinte! Ridicaţi coşul 3 din friteuză numai ţinându-l de mâner q! 1) După prăjire, apăsaţi butonul de deblocare a capacului 5 şi scoateţi capacul. 2) Ridicaţi coşul de prăjire 3 şi fi xaţi-l de marginea aparatului astfel încât surplusul de grăsime să se poată scurge în acesta. 3) Apăsaţi butonul pornit/oprit 8. Friteuza este acum oprită. Scoateţi ștecărul din priză. 4) După ce produsul s-a scurs, scoateţi cu atenţie coşul de prăjire 3 din friteuză. 5) Aşezaţi produsul prăjit într-un castron sau într-o strecurătoare / sită (aşezaţi hârtie absorbantă de bucătărie!). Dacă nu utilizaţi friteuza în mod regulat, se recomandă ca după răcire să păstraţi uleiul în sticle bine închise sau în alte recipiente, de preferinţă în frigider sau într-un alt loc răcoros. Umpleţi sticlele folosind o sită fi nă, pentru a separa uleiul sau grăsimea de resturile de mâncare. Înlocuirea grăsimii de prăjit Înlocuiţi uleiul numai după ce s-a răcit complet. Grăsimea solidă trebuie să fi e încă lichidă pentru a o putea turna. 1) Apăsaţi butonul de deblocare a capacului 5 îndepărtând concomitent capacul (a se vedea capitolul Curăţire şi îngrijire ). 2) Scoateţi coşul de prăjire 3. 3) Apucaţi aparatul de mânerele laterale şi turnaţi uleiul sau grăsimea printrunul dintre colţuri în recipiente adecvate, de exemplu în sticle. În acest scop folosiţi o pâlnie. INDICAŢIE În fi ecare regiune sau oraş, modul de eliminare a uleiurilor alimentare este reglementat diferit. Este interzisă aruncarea uleiurilor sau grăsimilor în gunoiul menajer. Vă rugăm cereţi informaţii despre posibilităţile de eliminare de la administraţia locală. 32 SEF A1

36 4) Curăţaţi temeinic toate componentele friteuzei în modul descris în capitolul Curăţare şi îngrijire. 5) Turnaţi ulei sau grăsime proaspătă în friteuză în modul descris în capitolul Prăjire. Curăţare şi îngrijire RO AVERTIZARE - PERICOL DE ELECTROCUTARE! Înainte de a curăţa aparatul, scoateţi întotdeauna ștecărul din priză. Aparatul sau componentele acestuia nu trebuie introduse în apă sub nicio formă! Pericol de moarte prin electrocutare şi deteriorarea aparatului. AVERTIZARE - PERICOL DE ARSURI! Înainte de a-l curăţa, lăsaţi aparatul să se răcească. ATENŢIE - PAGUBE MATERIALE! Pentru curăţarea componentelor nu utilizaţi materiale / soluţii de curăţat acide sau abrazive precum pastă abrazivă sau bureţi de inox. Acestea pot deteriora suprafaţa aparatului! Pentru o curăţare simplă, demontaţi friteuza: 1) Deschideti la maximum capacul aparatului, apăsati-l uşor în spate şi scoateti-l astfel din suporţii şarnierelor. 2) Îndepărtaţi coşul de prăjire 3 (sau cele două coşuri mici w). Coşurile de prăjire 3/w pot fi spălate în maşina de spălat vase. Pentru aceasta, detaşaţi mânerele q. Curăţaţi mânerele q în apă caldă, folosind un detergent blând. Apoi clătiţi-le cu apă limpede. Curăţaţi carcasa şi recipientul de prăjire 4 al friteuzei, folosind o cârpă umedă. Dacă este necesar, turnaţi un detergent blând pe lavetă. Ştergeţi apoi temeinic doar cu o cârpă umezită în apă, astfel încât să nu mai rămână resturi de detergent în recipientul de prăjire 4. Uscaţi bine carcasa şi recipientul de prăjire 4 al friteuzei. 37 RO Curăţaţi capacul aparatului în apă caldă cu detergent blând. Apoi clătiţi-le cu apă limpede. Uscaţi capacul aparatului şi poziţionaţi-l vertical pentru a se scurge toată apa rămasă în interiorul său. Înainte de o nouă utilizare, capacul trebuie să fi e complet uscat! 3) Înainte de montare uscaţi bine toate componetele. Depozitare Sugestii Cartofi prăjiţi 1) Ridicaţi sau transportaţi aparatul cu ajutorul mânerelor laterale de pe carcasă. 2) Înfășuraţi cablul de alimentare pe tamburul 6 din partea din spate a aparatului şi fi xaţi-l cu agrafa de cablu. 3) Depozitaţi aparatul numai cu capacul închis. Astfel interiorul friteuzei rămâne curat şi fără praf. Cartofi i pe care doriţi să-i prăjiţi trebuie să fi e sănătoşi şi neîncolţiţi. Pentru prăjire se recomandă utilizarea de cartofi făinoşi sau mai duri. După curăţarea cartofi lor, tăiaţi-i în funcţie de modul de preparare dorit (rondele sau pai). Înainte de a continua prepararea, lăsaţi cartofi i în apă cca o oră. Astfel este eliberat o parte din zahărul conţinut, una din substanţele care contribuie la formarea acrilamidelor. Lăsaţi apoi cartofi i să se usuce. Prăjiţi întotdeauna de două ori cartofi i tăiaţi acasă: întâi minute la aprox. 150 C, apoi 3-4 minute la 170 C, în funcţie de gradul de rumenire dorit. Cartofi i congelaţi sunt preprăjiţi şi trebuie prăjiţi o singură dată. Respectaţi indicaţiile de pe ambalaj. 34 SEF A1

38 Semipreparate congelate Produsele congelate (-16 până la -18 C) răcesc excesiv de mult uleiul sau grăsimea din friteuză, nu se prăjesc destul de repede şi absorb o cantitate mare de ulei sau grăsime. Pentru a evita aceste lucruri, procedaţi astfel: Nu prăjiţi o cantitate prea mare dintr-o dată. Produsul de preparat poate fi adăugat până cel mult la marcajul MAX din interiorul coşului de prăjire 3 (sau din coşurile mici w). Încălziţi uleiul cel puţin 15 minute înainte de a introduce produsul pe care doriţi să-l prăjiţi. Rotiţi regulatorul de temperatură 7 la valoarea specifi cată în aceste instrucţiuni sau pe ambalajul produsului. De preferinţă lăsaţi produsele congelate să se dezgheţe la temperatura camerei înainte de a le prăji. Îndepărtaţi cât mai multă apă sau gheaţă înainte de a introduce produsul în friteuză. Introduceţi produsul încet şi atent în friteuză, deoarece alimentele congelate provoacă clocotirea abruptă şi intensă a uleiului sau grăsimii încinse. Cum puteţi scăpa de gusturile neplăcute Anumite alimente, în special peştele, eliberează lichid când sunt prăjite. Aceste lichide se acumulează în ulei sau grăsime şi infl uenţează gustul sau mirosul produselor pe care le veţi prăji ulterior în acelaşi ulei. Procedaţi în modul următor pentru a obţine ulei sau grăsime fără gust: Încălziţi uleiul sau grăsimea la aprox. 150 C şi introduceţi două felii subţiri de pâine sau câteva fi re de pătrunjel în coşul de prăjire 3. Introduceţi coşul de prăjire 3 (sau coşurile mici w) în grăsime şi închideţi capacul. Aşteptaţi până când uleiul nu mai clocoteşte apoi scoateţi pâinea, resp. pătrunjelul cu o lingură perforată. Uleiul sau grăsimea sunt acum neutre. RO SEF A1 35

39 RO Alimentaţie sănătoasă Nutriţioniştii recomandă utilizarea de uleiuri şi grăsimi vegetale care conţin acizi graşi nesaturaţi (de ex. acid linoleic). Totuşi, aceste uleiuri şi grăsimi îşi pierd proprietăţile benefi ce mai repede decât alte sortimente și de aceea trebuie înlocuite mai des. Ghidaţi-vă după următoarele directive: Înlocuiţi la timp uleiul sau grăsimea. Dacă pregătiţi în principal cartofi prăjiţi şi strecuraţi de fi ecare dată uleiul, acesta poate fi folosit de până la ori. Totuși, nu utilizaţi uleiul sau grăsimea mai mult de şase luni. Respectaţi de asemenea și indicaţiile de pe ambalaj. În general, uleiul sau grăsimea se pot utiliza un timp mult mai scurt dacă în ele s-au prăjit alimente cu proteine, precum carne sau peşte. Nu amestecaţi ulei proaspăt cu ulei folosit. Înlocuiţi uleiul sau grăsimea dacă face spumă atunci când îl încălziţi, dacă dezvoltă un gust sau miros puternic sau dacă devine închis la culoare şi/sau capătă consistenţa unui sirop. 36 SEF A1
