NICHOLAS CHURCH OF THE WTC ΝΑΟΣ ΑΓΙΟΥ ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΥ ΤΟΥ WTC Ήχος Γ Εωθινόν Α THE MOST VENERABLE and full of grace Belt of our Blessed Virgin Mary, which is found at the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi in Agios Oros (Holy Mt. Athos), is the only precious souvenir that survives from her earthly life.according to the Sacred Tradition and the history of our Church, the Most Holy Theotokos three days after she fell asleep she rose from the dead and ascended in body to the heavens. During her ascension, she gave her Holy Belt to the Apostle Thomas. Thomas, a long with the rest of the holy Apostles, opened up her grave and didn't find the body of the Theotokos. In this way the Holy Belt is proof for our Church of her Resurrection and bodily ascension to the heavens, and, in a word, at her metastasis.monastery of Vateopedi,Holy Mt. Athos The Holy Belt, according to the tradition, was made by the Blessed Virgin Mary herself with camel hair. The Empress Zoi, wife of Leo 6th the Wise, out of gratitude for her miraculous cure, embroidered the Belt with gold thread, as it is found today, but divided in three pieces. Originally it was being kept in Jerusalem and later in Constantinople. There during the 12th century under Manuel A' Komninos (1143-1180) an official holiday for the Belt was established on August 31st. In the end, Emperor John the 6th Katakouzinos (1347-1355), who had a special love toward the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, as is evidence by many related accounts, donated the Belt to the Monastery. Since then the Holy Belt is kept at the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi, in a silver case of newer manufacture which depicts the Monastery. On the bottom right border of the depiction the artist made the drawing of the donor Emperor Katakouzinos along in the a sign which refers to his donation to the Monastery.Numerous are the miracles, that have taken place up to today with the Holy Belt. Its value is priceless because it's associated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She has the grace and to her the miraculous power is attributed, which with many ways she transmits to the faithful.the Holy Belt maintains unaltered the grace of the Most Holy Theotokos, because it became connected with her person and her life and because saints are spirit carriers during not their life, but also after their death. The same phenomenon is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures when objects that the Prophet Elias and the holy Apostles wore actually performed miracles, because they had the grace of the saints. For this reason the Church attributes it honorary worship, as it does to the Holy Wood of the Cross of the Lord.The Holy Belt has the unique grace to cure women's sterility as well as cancer patients, with a ribbon that has firstly been blessed on the Belt and is subsequently worn by the sterile women and patients.

Verse: For he has regarded the humility of his servant. St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 9:1-7 BRETHREN, the first covenant had regulations for worship and an earthly sanctuary. For a tent was prepared, the outer one, in which were the lampstand and the table and the bread of the Presence; it is called the Holy Place. Behind the second curtain stood a tent called the Holy of Holies, having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, which contained a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail. These preparations having thus been made, the priests go continually into the outer tent, performing their ritual duties; but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the errors of the people. The Gospel of Matthew 19:16-26 At that time, a young man came up to Jesus, kneeling and saying, "Good Teacher, what good deed must I do, to have eternal life?" And he said to him, "Why do you call me good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments." He said to him, "Which?" And Jesus said, "You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and You shall love your neighbor as yourself." The young man said to him, "All these I have observed; what do I still lack?" Jesus said to him, "If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful; for he had great possessions. And Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly, I say to you, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Η Τίμια Ζώνη της Θεοτόκου Η ανακομιδή της τίμιας Ζώνης της Θεοτόκου, άλλοι λένε ότι έγινε από το βασιλιά Αρκάδιο και άλλοι από το γιο του Θεοδόσιο τον Β'. Η μεταφορά έγινε από την Ιερουσαλήμ στην Κωνσταντινούπολη και την τοποθέτησαν σε μια χρυσή θήκη, που ονομάσθηκε αγία Σωρός. Όταν πέρασαν 410 χρόνια, ο βασιλιάς Λέων ο Σοφός άνοιξε την αγία αυτή Σωρό για τη βασίλισσα σύζυγο του Ζωή, που την διακατείχε πνεύμα ακάθαρτο. Όταν λοιπόν άνοιξε την αγία Σωρό, βρήκε την τίμια Ζώνη της Θεοτόκου να ακτινοβολεί υπερφυσικά. Και είχε μια χρυσή βούλα, που φανέρωνε το χρόνο και την ήμερα που μεταφέρθηκε στην Κωνσταντινούπολη. Αφού λοιπόν την προσκύνησαν, ο Πατριάρχης άπλωσε την τιμία Ζώνη επάνω στη βασίλισσα, και αμέσως αυτή ελευθερώθηκε από το δαιμόνιο. Όποτε όλοι δόξασαν το Σωτήρα Χριστό και ευχαρίστησαν την πανάχραντη Μητέρα Του, η οποία είναι για τους πιστούς φρουρός, φύλαξ, προστάτις, καταφυγή, βοηθός, σκέπη, σε κάθε καιρό και τόπο, ήμερα και νύκτα.στη συνέχεια η Αγία Ζώνη τεμαχίστηκε και τεμάχιά της μεταφέρθηκαν σε διάφορους ναούς της Κωνσταντινούπολης. Μετά την άλωση της Πόλης από τούς Σταυροφόρους το 1204 μ.χ., κάποια τεμάχια αρπάχτηκαν από τους βάρβαρους και απολίτιστους κατακτητές και μεταφέρθηκαν στη Δύση. Ένα μέρος όμως διασώθηκε και παρέμεινε στην Κωνσταντινούπολη και μετά την απελευθέρωση της Πόλης από τον Μιχαήλ Η' Παλαιολόγο. Φυλασσόταν στον ιερό ναό της Θεοτόκου των Βλαχερνών. Η τελευταία αναφορά για το άγιο λείψανο είναι ενός ανώνυμου Ρώσου προσκυνητή στην Κωνσταντινούπολη μεταξύ του 1424 και 1453 μ.χ.μετά την άλωση της Κωνσταντινούπολης από τούς Τούρκους το 1453 μ.χ., είναι άγνωστο τι απέγινε το υπόλοιπο μέρος της Αγίας Ζώνης στη συνέχεια. Έτσι το μοναδικό σωζόμενο τμήμα είναι αυτό που φυλάσσεται στην Ιερά Μονή Βατοπαιδίου με εξαιρετικά περιπετειώδη τρόπο έφτασε εκεί. Ο Άγιος Κωνσταντίνος είχε κατασκευάσει έναν χρυσό σταυρό για να τον προστατεύει στις εκστρατείες. Στη μέση του σταυρού είχε τοποθετηθεί τεμάχιο Τιμίου Ξύλου ο σταυρός έφερε επίσης θήκες με άγια λείψανα Μαρτύρων, και ένα τεμάχιο της Τιμίας Ζώνης. Όλοι οι βυζαντινοί αυτοκράτορες έπαιρναν αυτόν τον σταυρό στις εκστρατείες. Το ίδιο έπραξε και ο αυτοκράτορας Ισαάκιος Β Ἄγγελος (1185-1195) σε μία εκστρατεία εναντίον του ηγεμόνα των Βουλγάρων Ασάν. Νικήθηκε όμως και μέσα στον πανικό ένας ιερέας τον πέταξε στο ποτάμι για να μην τον βεβηλώσουν οι εχθροί. Μετά από μερικές μέρες όμως οι Βούλγαροι τον βρήκαν έτσι πέρασε στα χέρια του Ασάν.Οι Βούλγαροι ηγεμόνες μιμούμενοι τούς Βυζαντινούς αυτοκράτορες έπαιρναν μαζί τους στις εκστρατείες το σταυρό. Σε μία μάχη όμως εναντίον των Σέρβων ο βουλγαρικός στρατός νικήθηκε από τον Σέρβο ηγεμόνα Λάζαρο (1371-1389). Ο Λάζαρος αργότερα δώρισε το σταυρό του Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου στην Ιερά Μονή Βατοπαιδίου μαζί με το τεμάχιο της Τιμίας Ζώνης.Οι Άγιοι Πατέρες της Ιεράς Μονής διασώζουν και μία παράδοση σύμφωνα με την οποία η Τιμία Ζώνη της Θεοτόκου αφιερώθηκε στην Ιερά Μονή Βατοπαιδίου από τον αυτοκράτορα Ιωάννη ΣΤ Καντακουζηνό (1341-1354), ο οποίος στη συνέχεια παραιτήθηκε από το αξίωμα, εκάρη μοναχός με το όνομα Ιωάσαφ και μόνασε στην Ιερά Μονή Βατοπαιδίου.Τα θαύματα που πραγματοποίησε και πραγματοποιεί η Τιμία Ζώνη είναι πολλά.
