The applicants shall be reputed and experienced firms with proven technical and financial capabilities, possessing the required equipments with necessary expertise in the execution of prescribed work. Manufacturers/authorized dealers interested to prequalify themselves for this work are requested to ascertain their eligibility criteria furnished at the website of MPEDA (www.mpeda.com) and download Pre-Qualification forms. Filled in application in the prescribed form is to be submitted by the 02.01.2012 to the above address along with a non-refundable fee of Rs 1,000/- in the form of DD drawn in favour of Project Director, RGCA, payable at SBI, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu. The total estimated cost of the entire work is around Rs 100 Lakhs. 1

OF INDIA) TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER TRAINING & ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX 3/197, POOMPUHAR ROAD, KARAIMEDU, SATTANATHAPURAM SIRKALI TALUK, NAGAPATTINAM DIST., TAMIL NADU - 609109 Phone +91 4364 265200 E mail rgcaho@gmail.com, engg.rgca@gmail.com PRODUCT CRITERIA Name of the work Supply & Application of FOOD GRADE Epoxy Paint for the various installations that are used for rearing AQUATIC LIVE ORGANISMS IN SEA WATER, located at various places including Andaman & Nicobar islands RGCA proposes to select two FOOD GRADE products viz. a) For application on sea water holding tanks (glossy finish) b) For application on working surfaces i.e floors (anti skid), walls (glossy) etc The FOOD GRADE epoxy should possess the following qualities in order to rear the living aquatic organisms 1. Leach proof The epoxy coat should not leach out of the product over time. The proposed product should act as an integral part to the structure and the paint shall not peel off nor emit any carcinogenic/harmful liquids, gases or odours into the stored sea water & air. 2. Non-toxic to living organisms The proposed epoxy paint shall be non-toxic to the organisms proposed to be reared in the sea water medium. 3. No toxic components The proposed epoxy paint shall not have any toxic or banned chemicals. 4. Sea Water Resistant The culture medium for our organisms being sea water, they shall be reared in the designated tanks which shall be coated with the proposed epoxy paint which shall be resistant to the saline medium and shall protect the substrate. 5. Chemical / Acid / UV resistant During the operation the surface shall be upon requirement disinfected with chemicals within permissible limits or other equipments, which the proposed epoxy paint shall be resistant to. 6. Curing period of 24 hrs or less The curing period for the proposed epoxy paint shall be a maximum of 24 hrs & shall be ready to be operated within 24 hrs of application. 7. Anti skid & Smooth/even surface The proposed epoxy paint to be coated on operational areas may be anti skid but shall have a smooth/even surface to maintain the biosecurity of the areas of application. 2

8. Direct application on moist surfaces The surface to be epoxy coated may not be necessarily dry during the execution of the project owing to the climatic condition at Andamans and also due to the trials/tests being conducted, if any. The proposed epoxy paint shall be suitable to be applied on moist surfaces. 9. Abrasion resistant During the operation the surface shall be upon requirement scrubbed or equipments used thereupon, which the proposed epoxy paint shall be resistant to. 10. Self levelling screed The proposed epoxy paint shall be preferably self-leveled on flat surfaces. On walls it must give an even finish 11. Protection against algae & fungus The surface proposed to be epoxy coated should deter the growth of algae or fungus.
