LENTEN SERVICES Start Great Lent with us TODAY with Forgiveness Vespers, immediately following Divine Liturgy. This service allows us to come to one another and ask forgiveness and begin Great Lent on the right note. Tomorrow, Monday March 11th, we will as also have Great Compline, which is a beautiful service that perfectly captures the penitential and prayerful tone of Lent. That service will begin at 7:00pm Saturday, March 16th we have the 3rd and last Saturday of Souls. ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM ORATORICAL FESTIVAL Last Sunday, eight students, grades 7-12, prepared and delivered speeches on a range of religious topics as part of the St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival 2019. Below are the results of this year's festival at St. Spyridon's Orthodox Cathedral. The first place winner from each division will move on to the Metropolis Festival on May 11. Our teams finished their seasons strong, but ultimately fell in the playoffs. Congratulations to all our players for the hard work you put in this year, and Thank You to our coaches for dedicating so much time and teaching to this important ministry. Both teams showed a lot of promise for the years to come and we are excited to see what happens next season! Congratulations to our students!

LENTEN PRAYER OF ST. EPHRAIM This prayer is said during Great Lent at nearly every service. It captures the intended focus of repentance: our own sins temptations. We are called not to look for personal gain, not to judge our brothers and sisters, but to seek a spirit of humility and love. O Lord and Master of my life! Take from me the laziness, curiosity, lust of power, and idle talk. But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Your servant. Yes, Lord and King! Grant me to see my own sins and not to judge my brothers and sisters, for You are blessed unto ages of ages. Amen.
