Eternal with the Father and the Spirit is the Word, Who of a Virgin was begotten for our salvation. As the faithful we both praise and worship Him, for in the flesh did He consent to ascend unto the Cross, and death did He endure and He raised unto life the dead through His all glorious resurrection. Thy Martyr, O Lord, in his courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since he possessed Thy strength, he cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by his prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful. Metemorfothis en to ori, Christe o Theos, dixas tis mathites Sou tin doxan Sou, kathos idynando Lampson ke imin tis amartolis to fos Sou to aidion, presvies tis Theotokou Fotodota doxa Si. When O Christ our God Thou wast Transfigured on the mountain Thou didst reveal Thy glory to Thy disciples in proportion as they could bear it. Let Thine everlasting light also enlighten us sinners. Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, O Thou Bestower of light, glory to Thee Kontakion Joachim and Anna were freed from the reproach of childlessness, and Adam and Eve from the corruption of death, O immaculate one, by thy holy Nativity, which thy people, redeemed from the guilt of offences, celebrate by crying to thee: The barren woman giveth birth to the Theotokos, the nourisher of our life. Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia

Epistle - St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 1:21-24; 2:1-4 Prokeimenon. Mode Plagal 1. Psalm 11.7,1 You, O Lord, shall keep us and preserve us. Verse: Save me, O Lord, for the godly man has failed. The reading is from St. Paul's Second Letter to the Corinthians 1:21-24; 2:1-4 B rethren, it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has commissioned us; he has put his seal upon us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. But I call God to witness against me - it was to spare you that I refrained from coming to Corinth. Not that we lord it over your faith; we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith. For I made up my mind not to make you another painful visit. For if I cause you pain, who is there to make me glad but the one whom I have pained? And I wrote as I did, so that when I came I might not suffer pain from those who should have made me rejoice, for I felt sure of all of you, that my joy would be the joy of you all. For I wrote you out of much affliction and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to cause you pain but to let you know the abundant love that I have for you. α'. G o s p e l - Mat t h e w 2 2 : 2-14 T he Lord said this parable, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a marriage feast for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast; but they would not come. Again he sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, Behold, I have made ready my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves are killed, and everything is ready; come to the marriage feast.' But they made light of it and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the marriage feast as many as you find.' And those servants went out into the streets and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment; and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth.' For many are called, but few are chosen." 33rd Anniversary Gala Silent Auction **please consider donating** Orthodox Christian Fellowship My name is Grace Dye, president of my local Orthodox Christian Fellowship here at Texas A&M University. I am reaching out to all the young college students of Transfiguration to introduce them to OCF chapter. As a new academic year approaches, we want to guide potential incoming freshmen to a home away from home, so to speak, as they leave their familiar parishes and enter a secular environment. As members of an OCF chapter, they can continue to maintain an Orthodox way of life along with like-minded students. However, at this university, it is extremely difficult to come into contact with the few Orthodox Christians among 70,000 students. If you are a student at Texas A&M, please contact me at the email address below. If you are not coming here, God willing you will find another OCF chapter to join at your own school, so that no matter where we all are, we may encourage and strengthen each other in the faith. Grace Dye gracedye@tamu.edu We welcome donations to help make this year's Silent Auction a success! Items that generate the most interest include gift certificates to local merchants, wine and spirits, destination lodging stays, airline miles, non-costume jewelry, etc Please ask businesses you frequent if they'd be willing to provide a gift certificate for their services. If you have contributions, please contact Eleni Ackerman 512.560.2063 or Sonia Phocas 512.698.8745. The Choir Director at Holy Protection, Andrew Longway, teaches chess classes for anyone who is interested during the school year.

Welcome Visitors! If you are new to Transfiguration, we would love to get to know you. Please reach out to Eleni Ackerman (eleni_ackerman@yahoo.com) or Pat Gatlin (pgatlin@austin.rr.com) We welcome all new visitors who worshipped with us this morning. We are pleased to have you with us! Please join us next door after service for coffee and fellowship. There is material in the entrance of the Hall regarding ministries and events of Transfiguration. We hope that you will return often to worship with us and grow in Christ! R e c e i v i n g H o l y C o m m u n i o n The sacrament of Holy Communion is reserved for only baptized and/or Chrismated Orthodox Christians who have properly prepared by fasting, prayer and confession.
