6. Strategy Goals & Outlook CORINTH PIPEWORKS, having undergone a radical overhaul in the period 2003 2006, began implementing its strategic growth planning in 2007. More specifically, within the year the Company consolidated its commercial presence in the exceedingly demanding, yet also highly important North American market, whilst at the same time gaining a foothold in the Russian market, which presents especially attractive characteristics in terms of size and growth rates. In particular, the first production line of the ZAO TMK - CPW plant was inaugurated within the third quarter of 2007, which also marked the delivery of the first orders to the Joint Venture customers. Within this framework, the Company is called upon to further expand its activities within a complex international business environment, characterised by two divergent tendencies. More specifically, while the fundamental financial indexes of the international energy market indicate a favourable environment, which significantly affects anticipated demand for company products, developments such as the general slow down of the economy, the 12 CORINTH PIPEWORKS S.A. In line with the above, the main pillars of the Company s strategic business planning have been formulated as follows: Reinforcement and utilisation of the Company s competitive advantages, both regarding productive operation, as well as commercial presence. CORINTH PIPEWORKS, together with parent company SIDENOR, offers the most comprehensive product range, both from the point of view of its features, as well as its quality. At the same time, the geographical distribution of its plants entails an array of advantages, such as a competitive transportation cost, as well as significantly reduced end-product delivery and raw materials receiving times. Commitment to the continuous upgrading of production facilities, with the aim of developing new, high value added products. Development of collaborations for the creation of new products, based on the long-established and close ties that the Company has developed with raw materials suppliers. Further penetration into the Russian market, within the framework of the successful entrance into the local market, with the launch of operation of the ZAO TMK - CPW production unit. Maintenance of flexibility in the production process, in order to meet the diversified needs of its customers internationally. Utilisation of the synergies developed with parent company SIDENOR. ANNUAL REPORT DECEMBER 2007 13

7. Facilities Production Process The main production unit of CORINTH PIPEWORKS is located in the Industrial Area of Thisvi, in the Prefecture of Viotia, while operation of its Joint Venture plant with TMK, located in Polevskoy in Russia, has commenced since July 2007. Thisvi Plant (Greece) The Company s facilities in Thisvi are one of the most modern and efficient production plants of its kind worldwide. They were commissioned in 2002 and investments for upgrading and expanding its production capacity are ongoing. They have a total surface of 497 thousand square metres (49.7 hectares), of which 83 are covered, while their mechanical equipment were supplied by leading foreign manufacturers, such as SMS-MEER and MEG. Five production units operate at the plant, which include two pipe production units, two units for coating and one unit for lining. High productivity and flexibility in the production process are among the main competitive advantages of the plant, allowing it to meet its customers' diversified requirements. Another advantage of CORINTH PIPEWORKS is its exclusive use of the port facilities of the Thisvi Industrial Area, which are located 2 km from the plant. Since 2004, the said port operates based on the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS code) and is equipped with the necessary pier and harbour equipment such as cranes, fork-lift trucks and other special lifting equipment. The main advantages the harbour s operation offers the Company are a significant competitive advantage in 14 CORINTH PIPEWORKS S.A. PIPE INDUSTRY AND REAL ESTATE

Polevskoy Plant (Russia) The first production unit of CORINTH PIPEWORKS beyond Greek borders was established in 2007 in Russia, within the framework of its Joint Venture with TMK, which is the largest pipe manufacturer in Russia and one of the three leading manufacturers internationally. The plant is located in the town of Polevskoy in the Seversky region. It produces line electric resistance welded pipes (ERW) from its facilities located at a production unit of STW (Seversky Tube Works), a subsidiary of TMK. Its equipment is designed for the production of pipes measuring 168-530 mm in diameter, 4.8-12.7 mm in wall thickness and 18 m in length, as well as hollow sections (following completion of the relevant investment), in accordance with International Standards of quality. The production process began in July 2007 and the nominal annual production capacity is 200,000 tons. Thisvi Plant Production Process The steel pipes used in the energy industry are manufactured according to four alternative production processes, depending on the application, as well as the technical requirements of each project. More specifically: 1. Seamless Pipes Used at oil or gas wells 2. UOE Pipes Used for off-shore pipelines 3. ERW Pipes Medium diameter pipes for the transmission of oil and gas 4. HSAW Pipes Large diameter pipes for the transmission of oil and gas At its Thisvi plant, CORINTH PIPEWORKS produces ERW and HSAW pipes, the production process of which is described below: 1) ERW/HFI Unit (Electric Resistance Welded / High Frequency Induction) In the electric resistance welded/high frequency induction method (ERW/HFI), the raw material is steel coil of high quality (API Hot Rolled Coil). The ends to be welded are mechanically pressed together, while the required welding temperature is provided by the resistance heating of the edges from the electrical current flowing through them. annually, while the diameter of the said pipes is from 8 5/8 up to 24. The large diameter hollow sections (from 180x180 up to 500x500 and 600x400), widely used in metal constructions, are also produced in the same unit,. 2) HSAW Unit (Helical Submerged Arc Welded) This unit produces steel pipes of large diameter (26-100 ), while the raw material is also high quality steel coil (API HRC). The welding is achieved with the joining of the edges, which are heated with one or more electrical arcs that are formed between one or more bare metal electrodes and the edges to be joined. Following completion of the relative investment, within the third quarter of 2008, the annual production capacity of the unit amounts to 375,000 tons,. 3) External Coating Units Depending on the technical requirements of the project, as determined by the environment in which the pipeline will operate (e.g. extreme weather conditions), as well as the content of corrosive substances in the oil or gas transmitted, the pipes may require anticorrosive protection. The latter is achieved with external and/or internal coating of the pipes, a process carried out by CORINTH PIPEWORKS in the following three units: TCP 40 Unit External coating of the pipes takes place in the said division with a triple layer of PE (polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene) or with FBE (epoxy paint) of one or more layers. TCP 40 can coat pipes of external diameter up to 40. TCP 100 Unit In this unit, external coating with the abovementioned materials is also carried out; it can process pipes of external diameter up to 100. The total capacity of the TCP 40 and TCP 100 units is approximately 6.3 million square meters per year. Lining Unit - TLP 56 The internal coating of the pipe with epoxy material takes place in the TLP 56 unit. It can accept pipes of external diameter of up to 56, while its annual capacity is approximately 2 million square meters. ANNUAL REPORT DECEMBER 2007 17
