EPISTLE - 1 TIMOTHY 2:1-7 ΠΡῸΣ ΤΙΜΟΘΕΟΝ Α' 2:1-7 Reader- Great is our Lord, and great is his power. Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good. The reading is from St. Paul's First Letter to Timothy 2:1-7. Timothy, my son, first of all, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony to which was borne at the proper time. For this I was appointed a preacher and apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Παρακαλῶ λοιπόν, πρῶτα ἀπ ὅλα, νὰ κάνετε δεήσεις, προσευχάς, παρακλήσεις, εὐχαριστίας δι ὅλους τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, διὰ τοὺς βασιλεῖς καὶ ὅλους ἐκείνους ποὺ εἶναι εἰς ὑψηλὰς θέσεις, διὰ νὰ ζοῦμε βίον ἤρεμον καὶ ἥσυχον μὲ πᾶσαν εὐσέβειαν καὶ σεμνότητα. GOSPEL - LUKE 4:16-22 ΚΑΤᾺ ΛΟΥΚᾶΝ 4:16-22 At that time, Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and he went to the synagogue, as his custom was, on the sabbath day. And he stood up to read; and there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened the book and found the place where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." And all spoke well of him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. Καὶ ἦλθε εἰς τὴν Ναζαρέτ, ὅπου εἶχε ἀνατραφῆ καὶ κατὰ τὴν συνήθειάν του ἐμπῆκε εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν κατὰ τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ Σαββάτου καὶ ἐσηκώθηκε διὰ νὰ διαβάσῃ. Καὶ ἀφοῦ ἐτύλιξε τὸ βιβλίον καὶ τὸ ἔδωκε εἰς τὸν ὑπηρέτην, ἐκάθησε καὶ τὰ μάτια ὅλων εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν ἦσαν προσηλωμένα ἐπάνω του. Ἄρχισε δὲ νὰ τοὺς λέγῃ, «Σήμερα ἔχει ἐκπληρωθῆ εἰς τὰ αὐτιά σας ἡ γ ρ α φ ὴ αὐ τή». Καὶ ὅ λ ο ι συγκατένευαν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ἐθαύμαζαν διὰ τὴν χάριν τῶν λόγων ποὺ ἔβγαιναν ἀπὸ τὸ στόμα του καὶ ἔλεγαν, «Δὲν εἶναι αὐτὸς ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ Ἰωσήφ;». 4
GOSPEL - LUKA 4:16-22 Jezui shkoi në Nazaret, atje ku ishte rritur. Ditën e shtunë, sipas zakonit, shkoi në sinagogë. U ngrit për të lexuar dhe i dhanë librin e profetit Isaia. Ai e hapi librin dhe gjeti vendin ku ishte shkruar: «Shpirti i Zotit është mbi mua, sepse ai më ka vajosur për t'u shpallur ungjillin të varfërve Më ka dërguar për t'u shpallur robërve lirinë dhe për t'u kthyer të verbërve shikimin, për të çliruar të shtypurit dhe për të shpallur vitin e hirit të Zotit». E mbylli librin, ia dha shërbestarit dhe u ul. Sytë e të gjithëve në sinagogë ishin drejtuar tek ai. Jezui filloi t'u thoshte: «Sot u përmbush kjo pjesë e Shkrimit të shenjtë që e dëgjuat me veshët tuaj». Të gjithë flisnin mirë për të dhe mrekulloheshin nga fjalët plot hir që dilnin nga goja e tij dhe thoshin: «A nuk është ky i biri i Jozefit?». There will be Coffee Hour today. Participating in our Stewardship Program is how individuals/ families become active stewards of our church. Your contributions give the church the resources needed to fulfill its mission. Names for the Proskomedi (preparation service): Please submit names of the living or deceased to the church office to be commemorated during the preparation of the holy gifts before Divine Liturgy.
