2 ΕΝΗΜΕΡΩΤΙΚΟ ΕΛΤΙΟ ΓΡΑΦΕΙΟΥ ΣΤΑ ΙΟ ΡΟΜΙΑΣ Μεταπτυχιακά Προγράµµατα Master Courses in VIsion & robotics Erasmus Mundus since 2006 The master course aims to provide qualifications for entry into the professions in the area of robotics, computer vision, image processing and medical imaging either in public laboratory or private research company. Over 4 semesters (120 ECTS), the students attend three universities, where all the classes will be taught in English. An introduction to Scottish, Spanish and French culture and language will be proposed to the students. The student population will be between 30 and 40 per year. The average ratio professor/student relation is approximately 1:5. VIBOT students are required to cover the areas of studies below, over the total of 120 ECTS: basis of signal and image processing: software, hardware; tools and methods of computer vision: compression, segmentation, real-time, shape recognition, 3D vision, etc; robotics: fundamentals, control and programming for robot autonomy and intelligence; medical imaging: biologic basis, infrared imagery, X-Ray and ultrasound imagery; research training period or a vocational training period. Each university articulates its offer of courses on the basis of its own approach, in such a way that the students can benefit from different cultural and scholarly flavours. The first three semesters will successively occur in: FRANCE: University of Burgundy (antenna of Le Creusot) [UB] SPAIN: University of Girona [UdG] UNITED KINGDOM: Heriot-Watt University [HW] Classes will be taught by eminent researchers from the three laboratories: VISP/OSL at Heriot- Watt, VICOROB at Girona, Le2i at Le Creusot. The last semester which can be a practical experience to research will take place in one of the laboratories of the university members of the consortium for the non- European students and in laboratories of a Third-country university partner for the European students. An another choice for the four semester is to do a vocational training period in an European company for the non- European students and in a company in the country of the Third-country university partner for the European students. The European Master is awarded by Burgundy, HW and Girona Universities, and countersigned by the Consortium's director. A joint degree and a diploma supplement are delivered to the students.

Europe Past Forward ετήσιος διαγωνισµός βίντεο της Ευρωπαϊκής Οικονοµικής και Κοινωνικής Επιτροπής (EESC) 2013 Απευθύνεται σε νέους 18-30 χρονών, από τα 28 κράτη- µέλη της ΕΕ (συµπεριλαµβανοµένης Κροατίας που θα γίνει µέλος το 2013). Οι συµµετέχοντες θα πρέπει να ανεβάσουν ένα βίντεο µε θέµα τι σηµαίνει η Ευρώπη γι αυτούς. Τα βίντεο πρέπει να είναι αυθεντικά, διάρκειας 30 δευτερολέπτων- 1 λεπτού, σε οποιαδήποτε επίσηµη γλώσσα της ΕΕ και να έχουν Αγγλικούς υποτίτλους. With over 1,200 opportunities listed, and some 15.6 billion of scholarships available annually in Europe, the portal is well on its way to providing a one stop shop for those looking to spend an academic period abroad. Like the MEDEA:EU project, ScholarshipPortal.eu also used a mix of communication tools to promote its website. Press releases played a key role. Joran van Aart, Director of Student Value at the project, credits much of this success to the multilingual approach used. Ensuring press material was available in 11 languages resulted in '' coverage in national and regional newspapers, magazines and university newspapers, hundreds of blogs and online articles around the world, radio interviews and prime-time national television exposure''. Coverage in social and online media, along with search engine optimisation activities, is having a lasting effect....the resulting increase of incoming links to the Portal is generating a long-term impact as these websites continue to direct visitors to ScholarshipPortal.eu". The training also aims to provide an understanding of the objectives and goals of the EU integration processes and policies; to give trainees an opportunity to acquire practical experience and knowledge of the dayto-day work of the Commission Departments and Services. They will have an opportunity to work in a multicultural, multilingual and multiethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance. European integration will be promoted within the spirit of new governance and through active participation - creating an awareness of true European citizenship; to give young university graduates the opportunity to put into practice knowledge acquired during their studies, particularly in their specific areas of competence. To introduce these graduates to the professional world and its constraints, duties and opportunities. The European Commission, through its official traineeships scheme: benefits from the input of young enthusiastic graduates, who can give a fresh point of view and up-to-date academic knowledge, enriching the everyday work of the European Commission; creates a pool of young people with first-hand experience of and trained in European Commission procedures, who will be better prepared to collaborate and co-operate with the European Commission in the future; creates long-term "goodwill ambassadors" for European ideas and values, both within the European Union and outside. To acquire specialised knowledge and practical experience of EU policies and the mission, rules, procedures and activities of the Commission, especially within the field of the DG/Service assigned. To participate in meetings at different levels and assist with organisational, information, documentation and logistic tasks of value to the Service and to the trainee. General tasks Assisting with high-level administrative and logistical tasks, such as organising working groups, forums, public hearings and meetings, compiling information and documentation, preparing reports and answering queries, etc. (excluding any responsibility for financial management, official negotiations and representation). Carrying out tasks similar to those which any "Administrator"-category official performs as part of his/her daily office work in order to deliver results, such as participating in unit or team meetings, document handling, word processing, data searching, filing, following up tenders, checking texts, etc. Additional tasks specific to the assigned Service/Department A draft description of additional tasks specific to the assigned Service/Department will be given to the trainees either with the placement offer or at the beginning of the traineeship.
