Αείμνηστος Γιώργος Χατζηκώστας Τηρήθηκε μονόλεπτος σιγή στη μνήμη του εκλιπόντος μέλους του Ομίλου μας αείμνηστου π.π. Γιώργου Χατζηκώστα ο οποίος S M O K E F R E E M E E T I N G Ανοίχθηκε ειδική μερίδα στο Ταμείο Κοινωνικών Παροχών του Ομίλου όπου γίνονται δεκτές εισφορές εις μνήμην του. Μετά από εισήγηση της Προέδρου αποφασίστηκε όπως : Διοργανωθεί εκδήλωση αφιερωμένη στο αείμνηστο π.π. Γιώργο εντός Ιουνίου Στην εν λόγω εκδήλωση να ανακηρυχθεί επίτιμο μέλος του Ομίλου μας η κα Κλειώ Χατζηκώστα Καθιερωθεί ετήσιο βραβείο εις μνήμη του εκλιπόντος σε εκπαιδευτικό ίδρυμα το οποίο θα αποφασιστεί. Προσευχή Την προσευχή ανέπεμψε η ρ. Θεοδώρα Ταουσιάνη. Παρόντες 15 μέλη. Συνεστίαση 02/05/2011 Σελίδα 2 Απολογίες Απολογίες είχαμε από τους π.π. Θέμη Θεμιστοκλέους, Μενέλαο Μαρκίδη, τους ρ. Αντώνη Τουμαζή και Πέτρο Ξενοφώντος καθώς και την ρ. Έλενα Νικολα δου. Πρόποση Η τελετάρχης Αναστασία Ορφανού ήγειρε πρόποση υπέρ της υγείας όλων των μελών που γιόρταζαν τον προηγούμενο μήνα και δεν μας δόθηκε η ευκαιρία να τους ευχηθούμε (Τάσος Παρτζίλης, Έλενα Νικολαίδου, Γιώργος Μιχαηλίδης, Γιώργος Πασιαλής, Λίνα Στιβαδώρου και Αναστασία Ορφανού). ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΕΙΣ 1. Απουσία ρ. Αγγέλας Εργατούδη Το Δ.Σ. του Ομίλου ενέκρινε το αίτημα της ρ. Αγγέλας Εργατούδη για απαλλαγή παρουσίας στον Όμιλο για τους επόμενους τρεις μήνες λόγω απουσίας της στο εξωτερικό. 2. 75ο Συνέδριο Περιφέρειας 2450 γ. District Assembly προϋπολογισμός 2450 2011-12 συνδρομή ($3 ανά μέλος) γι το Περιοδικό 2011-12 - - Redistricting 2014-15 Council of Legislation o.... δ. Βραβεία Περιφέρειας 2450 Ο Όμιλος μας πήρε τρία βραβεία για 1. Community Service, 2. Club Administration & 3. Public Relations & Rotary Image ένα Certificate of Appreciation για 1. Membership Development & Rotary Awareness. Η Πρόεδρος ευχαριστεί θερμά όλα τα μέλη που συνέβαλαν στην επίτευξη των στόχων του Ομίλου, με αποτέλεσμα να του αποδοθούν τα πιο πάνω τέσσερα βραβεία. Ιδιαίτερες ευχαριστίες προς : α. Συμμετοχή μελών και συζύγων του Ομίλου μας,,..,..,... την π.π. Λίτσα Αρέστη, την Επικεφαλής του Community Service ρ. Θεοδώρα Ταουσιάνη, και την Επικεφαλής του Club Administration ρ. Αντιγόνη Κοιλιάρη για την βοήθεια στην προετοιμασία και υποβολή των αιτήσεων για τα βραβεία. β. Παρουσίαση Έργου του Ομίλου μας στο 75ο Συνέδριο - παρουσίασε το πιο πετυχημένο έργο του Ομίλου το οποίο αποφασίστηκε ότι ήταν η δωρεά του Λεωφορείου στο Ειδικό Σχολείο «Απόστολος Βαρνάβας». 4-6 τον Επικεφαλής του District Awards Cyprus Committee π.π. Χριστόδουλο Αχιλλεούδη και τα μέλη της ομάδας του Β.Κ. Έλενα Τάνου, Β.Κ. Γιώργο Πέτρου, AG Coordinator Γιώργο Κωνσταντίνου και τον π.β.κ. Φαίδωνα Στυλιανίδη District Awards. -

Παρουσίαση του πιο πετυχημένου έργου του Ομίλου Η Πρόεδρος πρόβαλε στα μέλη την παρουσίαση που έκανε στο Συνέδριο της περιφέρειας για το πιο πετυχημένο έργο του Ομίλου. Γενέθλια Προέδρου Τα μέλη ευχήθηκαν στην Πρόεδρο Χρόνια Πολλά για τα γενέθλια της και έσβυσε μόνο ένα κεράκι α- φήνοντας πίσω τα υπόλοιπα Κλήρωση Το δώρο της κλήρωσης κέρδισε η Πρόεδρος. ΕΠΟΜΕΝΕΣ ΣΥΝΕΣΤΙΑΣΕΙΣ & ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΙΣ ΟΜΙΛΟΥ Σάββατο, 07/05/2011 Δεντροφύτευση στο πάρκο Περνέρα του Δήμου Λευκωσίας, 9 το πρωΐ. Θα παραδοθούν επίσης δύο παγκάκια. For the members of the Rotary Club of Nicosia-salamis, the Famagusta Gate is a symbol of their unshakable determination to return to their hometown. The Elements of a Successful Project 1. Recognition Our Club s Successful Project The donation of a Mini-Bus to a School for children with special needs is considered one of our Club s Bigger, Better & Bolder project 1. Community Assessment We carried out a Community assessment in the Famagusta area relevant to the community needs by contacting Community Leaders. We focused in Famagusta area because of the origin of the majority of our Club members.

Selection of Project We selected a SMART project appropriate to the size and resources of our Club from a list prepared during the Community Assessment. The project concerned the donation of a specially modified Mini- Bus to «St Barnabas School» for children with special needs aged between 12-21 years old which serves the entire free Famagusta area. Our target was to facilitate the children of the school to be inducted in the society and the Mini-Bus was the «means» of their transportation to various places such as government offices, business organisations, supermarkets etc. It was also the «means» of their transportation for physiotherapy treatment as well as for recreational purposes such as excursions, swimming, social events etc 3. Planning the Implementation We obtained the necessary authorisation from the Ministry of Education, We planned the implementation of the project, We involved as many members as possible by delegating tasks (quotations, purchasing, modification, printing, donation ceremony, publicity) 4. Financing We decided of the means of financing the project which was made through fund raising events (dinners and cocktail parties, clothes and Christmas bazaars, avant Cinema premier etc) and sponsorships. 5. Implementation and Finalization We implemented and finalized the project by organizing an official donation ceremony at the School premises in the presence of the Minister of Education, Community Leaders and members, the teachers of the School, the parents, the children, members of media and Club members. 6. Promotion We promoted our project, our Club and Rotary in general through coverage by the media (TV and Local press) publication in the District Magazine There is a continuous publicity of Rotary and our Club through the Rotary Logo and wording on the Mini-Bus 7. Continuity We ensured the continuity of the Project by supporting the mechanical maintenance and offering the Yearly Car Insurance. In addition to the Mini-Bus project, our Club supports the specific School by yearly miniprojects such as the donation of a freezer, the donation of a washing machine, the installation of a purifying water system, the donation of a bookcase etc

Evaluation We evaluated the Project and our findings were: It met the Community needs as planned It involved a significant number of members and promoted team work within the Club The Club managed its financial commitments It attracted media attention Rotary and our Club was promoted in the Community 9. Recognition Our Club has been recognized not only by the School but by the entire Community of the free Famagusta area during a special Ceremony organised for this purpose. Ever since the donation, the Club is invited to all events of the School and the Community. Our Club recognized the sponsors, volunteers and Club members during a special Club meeting at which they were awarded Plaquettes and Certificates of Appreciation.
