Β. Course Description: There is no any possibility to organize a feast or a ritual without directing. Much stronger is the directing elements in rituals that require strict sequence of actions and events. The direction is absolutely necessary, not only to enforce the correct sequence of ritual acts, but also to achieve the desired aesthetic result. The interest in the aesthetic aspect of the religious celebration is associated primarily with the fact that the festival is the institutionalized mass communication with the divine. The above practice characterizes the religiosity of its people as well as ancient Greco-Roman antiquity. Innovation practices (religious and daily) performed during the Greco-Roman era also move between tradition and modernity. The most novel from the very beginning of this "transition period" is the deification of rulers. The feasts and rituals of these new cults of this era were serving civil cities and rulers of the Hellenistic kingdoms, highlight the wealth, prosperity and ideology, while entertaining citizens and nationals. In this way people are addicted to their new passive role, while creating them the illusion of participation. The concept of "authority" and "tradition" become the ideal environment for the environment of politico-religious ideas and happenings of the time. At the same time, however, the pompous ceremonies and directed the commanding further enhance the feeling of
9 people about the excessive power of the representatives of political power and the divine world.
