Altar Boy Captains Alexi Baron, Jimmy Contakis, Panos Davayios, Charlie Henry, Kosta Kalvakis, Corey Khan, Yianni Patitsas, Chris Sfikas, and Peter Stathulis WELCOME TO THE ANNUNCIATION GREEK ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL! We are so happy that you are worshipping with us today! If you are visiting, please fill out a "Visitor Information Card," located in the Narthex, and give it to a Parish Council member at the candle stand in the Narthex. If you are an Orthodox Christian new to the Columbus area, or if you would like to know more about becoming an Orthodox Christian, please introduce yourself to one of the priests who would be most happy to meet with you and discuss membership in our Cathedral. It is our desire that you make the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral your spiritual home! May God richly bless you and your family! FOR THE RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNION We welcome all Christians not fully united with us. It is a consequence of the sad divisions of Christianity that we cannot extend to all a general invitation to receive Holy Communion. Orthodox Christians believe that the Eucharist is an action of the celebrating community signifying an oneness in faith, life, and worship. Reception of the Eucharist by Christians not fully united with us would imply a oneness which does not yet exist and for which we must all pray. TODAY WE COMMEMORATE Paul of Thebes, John the Hut-Dweller, Pansophios the Martyr of Alexandria
WE REMEMBER IN OUR PRAYERS Please pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ at today s Divine Liturgy and throughout the week. Let us worship the Word who is unoriginate with the Father and the Spirit, and from a Virgin was born for our salvation, O believers, and let us sing His praise. For in His goodness He was pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, and to undergo death, and to raise up those who had died, by His glorious Resurrection. Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ. Save us, O Son of God, risen from the dead, We sing to You, Alleluia. From infancy fervently you loved and longed for the Lord; you therefore renounced the world and every worldly delight, and excelled in ascetic feats. You set the hut you dwelt in before the gates of your parents. Therein, all-blessed struggler, you crushed the snares of the demons. And therefore, O John, Christ has glorified you worthily. Today is the Summary of Our Salvation, Mode 4 Σήµερον τῆς σωτηρίας ἡµῶν τὸ Κεφάλαιον, καὶ τοῦ ἀπ' αἰῶνος Μυστηρίου ἡ φανέρωσις, ὁ Υἱὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ, Υἱὸς τῆς Παρθένου γίνεται, καὶ Γαβριὴλ τὴν χάριν εὐαγγελίζεται. Today is the summary of our salvation, and the manifestation of the age-old mystery. For the Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, and the good news of grace does Gabriel Annunciate. Therefore, together with him, to the Theotokos let us cry aloud: ʺRejoice, O Maiden full of grace, the Lord is with you.ʺ Kontakion, Mode 4 Ὁ µήτραν παρθενικὴν ἁγιάσας τῷ τόκῳ σου, καὶ χεῖρας τοῦ Συµεὼν εὐλογήσας ὡς ἔπρεπε, προφθάσας καὶ νῦν ἔσωσας ἡµᾶς Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός. You sanctified the virginal womb by Your birth, O Lord, and blessed the hands of Symeon fittingly, O Christ God; and even now You came and saved us. Now, give peace to our Nation in time of war, and empower our Leaders, so loved by You, the only one who loves humanity.
PROKEIMENON Psalm 11.7,1 You, O Lord, shall keep us and preserve us. Verse: Save me, O Lord, for the godly man has failed. St. Paul's Letter to the Colossians 3:4-11 BRETHREN, when Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience. In these you once walked, when you lived in them. But now put them all away; anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old nature with its practices and have put on the new nature, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all. THE PROCLAMATION OF THE HOLY GOSPEL The Gospel According to Luke 17:12-19 At that time, as Jesus entered a village, He was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices and said: "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us." When He saw them He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus's feet, giving Him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then said Jesus: "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" And He said to him: "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."

STAR HOUSE serves youths ages 14-24, one of the most vulnerable populations worldwide. It is estimated that 1,200 to 1,500 homeless youths and youths in transition exist in Central Ohio. These youths live directly on the streets or in abandoned buildings, or couch surf among friends homes. Most are disconnected from their families, and all are underserved by communities, left to fend for themselves on the fringes of our society. With limited rights and privacy, they have little access to services and supports needed to survive independently. These youths are at high risk for human trafficking, HIV and Hepatitis C infections, and victimization. In 2014, STAR HOUSE served 724 homeless youth that visited the shelter more than 17,000 times. Star House is a 24/7 drop-in shelter where youth can get food, hygiene items, tents, and other items to help them survive on the streets. We are NOT able to accept items for babies or children with the exception of diapers, wipes, and formula. Please check that clothing donations are in clean condition.
