The Hellenic American Experience Fifty-seven years ago a group of prominent cultural, educational, political, and business leaders, including Angelos Katakouzinos, Nikos Hatzikyriakos-Gkikas, Ilias Venezis, Xenophon Zolotas, and Prodoromos Athanasiadis-Bodosakis, founded the Hellenic American Union. Their aim in doing so was to help post-war Greece benefit from American innovations in education, culture, science, and business, and to promote cross-cultural awareness. The American education model is seen as a benchmark for efficiency, quality, and technological innovation and a pillar of entrepreneurship. These values have also informed the cultural and educational programs of our institution since its founding, but not on their own. The development of our institution has been equally shaped by a deep respect for the ingenuity, resourcefulness and versatility in problem-solving that have been part of Greek society and culture since Antiquity. This amalgamation of values, the Hellenic American Experience, as we call it, is expressed in our courses, cultural events, and community outreach. It has enabled us to accumulate a record of service to education and culture in Greece that was honored 2012 by the Academy of Athens, the pre-eminent learned society in the country. The Hellenic American Experience is reflected in our professional development seminars as well, and this Catalogue is filled with examples of the approach. The certification programs we offer in Information Security and Audit are organized in cooperation with both the US parent organization (ISACA-USA) and the local Greek ISACA chapter American knowledge as deployed in the Greek business environment. Our seminars in Digital Marketing transfer expertise gained in American enterprises to meet new and emerging needs of Greek businesses. And you ll find certifications and courses here that cannot be found elsewhere in Greece, such as the Certified Exporter designation. We invite you to share in the Hellenic American Experience. We are confident you will understand why 3,000,000 persons over the last half-century have placed their trust in the cultural, educational and certification services of the Hellenic American Union.
