With the help of generous donors we have been able to provide a hot nourishing meal the first Wednesday of each month at Union Station Homeless Services, 412 S. Raymond Avenue, Pasadena (not be be confused with Union Station in Los Angeles) for more than twenty years. USHS started on Union Street in Pasadena. The donations help to offset the cost of food preparation and makes it a fulfilling,stress free opportunity to educate ourselves and introduce our children "to let their light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven." Available dates: January 6 (an excellent day for those named John to serve), February 3, March 3(GOYA is signed up), April 6, May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3. The figure determined to be necessary to achieve this goal was $425,000.00. Our Spiritual Leader Father Peter has been praying about this and would like to ask us all to consider the following: "(I/We) pledge to give, at least, $1.00 or more a day to Christ and His Church!" This would mean only $365.00 more per year. If most of us could do this then, we as a "community" would achieve our desired goal together.

The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Hebrews 13:17-21. Brethren, obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you. Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things.
