1 Vol 16 No 5 JOURNAL OF HARBIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Oct TQ317 A Progress in Thermally Conductive Polymer Based Composites HAN Zhi-dong XU Da School of Materials Science and Engineering Harbin University of Science and Technology Harbin China Abstract According to the applications of several thermally conductive fillers in thermally conductive polymer based composites some recent progresses in thermally conductive composites were described in the paper Several factors influencing the thermal conductivities of the composites were briefly discussed Conclusively the composites with functional properties can be obtained by adding different kinds of thermally conductive fillers The use of nanofillers makes it possible to achieve excellent thermally conductive composites However the researches on constructing effective heat-transfer path in the composites are of some limitations leading to an insufficient thermal conductivity of the composites to meet the requirements of many applications Significant breakthroughs are still needed to obtain thermally conductive composites Key words composites polymer thermal conductivity zhidong han@ hrbust edu cn 1987
