GENERAL ASSEMBLY A GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the stewards of the Holy Taxiarhai and St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church will take place on Sunday, October 17 after church services, to choose a Board of Elections for this year. If there is no quorum that day, the General Assembly will take place on Sunday, October 24. Any number attending on October 24 will comprise a quorum for the purpose of conducting the business of this agenda. Plan to come to the General Assembly! SACRAMENTS AND BLESSINGS BLESSINGS OF INFANTS Forty days after birth, a child and its mother come to church to receive a 40 Day Blessing, imitating Christ who was presented in the Temple 40 days after He was born. Please call the church office to arrange this blessing. BAPTISMS Please call the church office to schedule Baptisms. Plan ahead! there are some days when Baptisms are not performed. Keep in mind that there should be only one Godparent and that a child is supposed to be given but one name when he or she is baptized. WEDDINGS Please arrange an appointment with Fr. Dean at least eight months before the proposed wedding date to allow time for all necessary marriage preparation. CONFESSION Confessions are arranged by appointment. Please call the church office to schedule Confession. MINISTRY TO PERSONS WHO ARE SICK Orthodox Christians who would like to receive Holy Sacraments but are unable to attend church (hospitalized or at home) should contact the church office so Holy Sacraments can be administered to them. Please inform the church office if your loved one is hospitalized! Most hospitals no longer inform us when they receive patients from our parish. MEMORIAL SERVICES Memorial Services are offered for the eternal rest of persons who have fallen asleep in the Lord. Customarily, these services are offered at 40 days, at 6 months, at 1 year and at 3 years. When three years have passed, the departed are more properly remembered on the Saturdays of the Souls. ABOUT MARRIAGE Marriage is one of the Holy Sacraments of our Church, and its ultimate purpose is the sanctification of the husband and wife in God s Kingdom. For an Orthodox Christian to remain in good standing, the wedding must take place in the Orthodox Church. Choosing a mate is an exciting and beautiful process. In addition to all our personal concerns in finding a loving and caring spouse, we should also consider other factors. Is there any impediment? Is there a relationship by blood or marriage with other relatives? Since Marriage is a Sacrament and takes place in the Name of Christ, both spouses must believe in Him. One of the spouses must be an Orthodox Christian, and the other spouse must also be Christian. If either person has been previously married, they must have a legal divorce. If they were married in the Orthodox Church, an ecclesiastical divorce is required. Care should be exercised in choosing a sponsor (κουμπάρος). Customarily, this person also baptizes the first child and, therefore, should be a conscientious Orthodox Christian in good standing. There should only be ONE sponsor. (A married couple can sponsor the wedding, since the two have become one by marriage.) Finally, keep in mind that there are some dates on which marriages are not permitted. Check with the church office! Marriage is perhaps the most wonderful gift that God has given. When two people find each and give themselves to each other selflessly, accepting each other s blessings and their faults, there can be no greater gift! Asking God to bless their loving relationship through the Sacrament of Holy Marriage is the ideal sanctification of their loving commitment! 2

3 HOLY TAXIARHAI AND SAINT HARALAMBOS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH 7373 CALDWELL AVENUE, NILES, ILLINOIS PHONE: 847/ From Father Dean October 2010 Dear Stewards and Friends of St. Haralambos, As a church family, we have been very blessed to have the guidance of our Father and Spiritual Leader, Metropolitan Iakovos, for over 30 years. They have been 30 years of wise leadership, stability and progress, without turmoil or division. We may take this for granted, but we shouldn t. In other places, there have been leadership changes accompanied by an absence of compassion, understanding or tactfulness, and periods of confusion and transition. We have been fortunate, indeed, with the leadership of our Metropolitan. Personally, I have known Metropolitan Iakovos for many years. In 1971 he became the President of our seminary, while I was a student. During that period of time, he also was in charge of the Boston Diocesan District and the Detroit Diocesan District unbelievable! In 1977, he invited me to become youth director for the Detroit District, and I worked closely with him in Detroit; when he was elected Bishop of Chicago in 1979, I came to the Diocese of Chicago and was responsible for the Registry Department. I was also his deacon for over 2 years and, after he assigned me to St. Haralambos, I continue to have responsibilities in the offices of the Metropolis. I have great fondness and respect for His Eminence as my bishop and as my mentor-teacher. I believe we are all indebted to him for his leadership of the Church in Chicago. This year, we all celebrate the 40th anniversary of his Consecration as Bishop, and the 30th anniversary as the spiritual leader of the Metropolis of Chicago, and there will be a Banquet to honor his anniversary on Thursday evening, October 28, at the Drury Lane in Oak Brook. The Banquet will be for the benefit of the St. Iakovos Camp/Retreat Center in Wisconsin. This year s Banquet is different. It is not just another year. It is a special anniversary! I hope that you will join me in showing appreciation to His Eminence for the love and concern he has shown our parish of St. Haralambos, as well as the whole Metropolis, by attending this year s Banquet. I believe this is a special occasion, a BIG DEAL, that deserves special consideration and sacrifice. Will you please join me? It is the greatest desire of Metropolitan Iakovos to see the Camp/ Retreat Center grow and develop. Let us show our support of his hopes and dreams by attending this year s Banquet. 4 Sunday, October 17 Right after church services!! Stewardship and Tithing for 2010 FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF OUR FAITH Stewardship is the greatest source of our church s support base, accounting for almost half of our church s income. Ideally, we all know that our Stewardship should provide 100% of our Church s needs and so we have introduced tithing as the foundation for determining our Stewardship. In the Old Testament, the People of God were expected to tithe, that is to give 10% of their income to support the Temple. As today s People of God, we should do the same! In 2009, this was a new idea to us, but now that it has been explained, we are asking everyone to start at 1% or more this year in calculating your level of giving. We strongly urge everyone to think of their stewardship commitment as a MONTHLY contribution, and every year, we can gradually increase our giving level. We are especially grateful to those many stewards who have increased their level of giving for 2010!! ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN TOY DRIVE FOR FOSTER CHILDREN Again this year, the Orthodox Christian parishes of Chicago are collecting new toys to be given to foster children, under the direction of OCCA. St. Haralambos has volunteered to provide for 150 children this year! Visit the church office for more information; toys must be collected between November 29 and December 3. PHILOPTOCHOS HOLIDAY BAZAAR NOVEMBER The St. Haralambos Philoptochos will be hosting its annual Holiday Bazaar this fall, on November Help is needed! Take some time, if you can, to sew an apron, make some Christmas decorations, knit a baby blanket or do some needlepoint or crocheting. These are the kinds of things that are needed for our Bazaar! Lots of help will be needed! Please call the church office to offer your help. By working together, we can have a most successful Bazaar! It's only one month away! ORTHODOXY 101 Plan to attend our Bible Study, which meets on Tuesday evening at 7:30 in our Community Center. We are beginning the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament! BYOB--Bring your own Bible! All are welcome, young and young at heart! HELLENIC AMERICAN VETERANS MEMORIAL The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Hellenic American Veterans Memorial took place on September 11 at Elmwood Cemetery, and the Memorial is scheduled for dedication on November 11. The Memorial honors the memory of the men and women of Hellenic heritage who have served the United States in times of war and peace. Names are still being accepted to be included on this Memorial! Donations are tax deductible. For info, contact or BASKETBALL REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN! Basketball Season begins soon, and it's time to register. This year, we will have a Jr. Boys Team, a Girls Team and a Sr. Boys Team! All interested players should get a registration form from the church office and complete it right away. The families of all players must be 2010 Stewards of St. Haralambos before registration, and players over age 12 must be active GOYA members in order to play. Registration for Basketball ends October 17! 4 BASKETBALL SEASON There will be a Jr. Boys Team, Girls Team and Sr. Boys Team! DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS OCTOBER 17th! 5 ΑΝΑΚΟΙΝΩΣΕΙΣ 2010 STEWARDSHIP AND TITHING: ΤΟΝ ΑΓΩΝΑ ΤΟΝ ΚΑΛΟΝ Το Stewardship είναι η μεγαλύτερη πηγή υποστήριξης της εκκλησίας μας και αντιστοιχεί στο ήμισυ του εισοδήματος της εκκλησίας μας. Όλοι μας γνωρίζουμε ότι το ιδανικό θα ήτανε το Stewardship να καλύπτει το 100% των αναγκών της εκκλησίας μας και έτσι εφέτος παρουσιάσαμε το δέκατον ( tithe ) ως την βάσιν του προσδιορισμού του Stewardship μας. Tην εποχή της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης, ο Λαός του Θεού έπρεπε να δίνει το 10% του εισοδήματός τους δια να υποστηρίξουν τον Ναό. Έτσι κι εμείς, ο σημερινός Λαός του Θεού, θα πρέπει να κάνουμε το ίδιο! Αλλά η ιδέα αυτή είναι καινούργια και πολύ λίγοι από εμάς διατίθενται να δώσουν το 10% κατά το έτος του Δια τον λόγο αυτό ζητούμε από όλους να αρχίσουμε να δίνουμε το ελάχιστο 1% εφέτος, και ενθαρρύνουμε όλους να θεωρούν το Stewardship ως ΜΗΝΙΑΙΑ συνεισφορά. Μπορούμε να αυξάνουμε την συνεισφορά μας βαθμιαία κάθε χρόνο! Είμεθα ευγνώμονες εις όλους αυτούς τους stewards του Αγ. Χαραλάμπους που αύξησαν εφέτος το ποσόν της συνεισφοράς τους! ΔΩΡΑ ΓΙΑ ΘΕΤΑ ΠΑΙΔΙΑ-Οι Ορθόδοξες Χριστιανικές ενορίες της περιφέρειας Σικάγο, υπό την αιγίδα του OCCA, συγκεντρώνουν και πάλιν εφέτος Χριστουγεννιάτικα καινούργια δώρα για θετά παιδιά. Η ενορία του Αγίου Χαραλάμπους ανέλαβε να δώση δώρα σε 150 παιδιά. Για περισσότερες πληροφορίες επικοινωνείτε με το γραφείο της εκκλησίας. Τα δώρα πρέπει να συγκεντρωθούν από 29 Νοεμβρίου - 3 Δεκεμβρίου! ΠΕΡΙ ΕΚΚΛΗΣΙΑΤΙΚΩΝ ΕΥΧΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΜΥΣΤΗΡΙΩΝ ΕΥΧΕΣ ΝΕΟΓΕΝΝΗΤΩΝ ΤΕΚΝΩΝ--Κάθε μάνα και το παιδί της, σαράντα ημέρες μετά την γέννησή του προσέρχονται στην εκκλησία για να λάβουν την Ευλογία των 40 Ημερών, κατά μίμησην του Ιησού Χριστού ο οποίος παρουσιάσθηκε στον Ιερόν Ναόν σαράντα ημέρες μετά την γέννησή του. Παρακαλούμε τηλεφωνείτε στο γραφείο της εκκλησίας για να κανονίσετε την ευλογία αυτή. ΒΑΠΤΙΣΕΙΣ Παρακαλούμε όπως τηλεφωνείτε στο γραφείο της εκκλησίας δια να προγραμματίσετε Βαπτίσεις. Σχεδιάστε πολύ ενωρίτερα!-υπάρχουν μερικές μέρες που δεν γίνονται βαπτίσεις. ΓΑΜΟΙ-Παρακαλούμε όπως κανονίζετε συνάντηση με τον π. Κωνσταντίνο τουλάχιστον οκτώ μήνες πριν την προτεινόμενη ημερομηνία του γάμου δια τις απαιτούμενες προετοιμασίες. ΕΞΟΜΟΛΟΓΗΣΗ Οι Εξομολογήσεις κανονίζονται κατόπιν ραντεβού. Δια να προγραμματίσετε εξομολογήσεις, παρακαλούμε τηλεφωνείτε στο γραφείο της εκκλησίας. ΜΕΡΙΜΝΑ ΑΡΡΩΣΤΩΝ Ορθόδοξοι Χριστιανοί που θα ήθελαν να λάβουν τα Άγια Μυστήρια και δεν μπορούν να έλθουν στην εκκλησία (βρίσκονται εις νοσοκομεία ή ανήμποροι εις τα σπίτια τους) παρακαλούνται να επικοινωνούν με το γραφείο της εκκλησίας δια να μπορέσουν να τα λάβουν. Παρακαλούμε να επικοινωνείτε με το γραφείο της εκκλησίας εαν κάποιος συγγενής σας είναι στο νοσοκομείο! Τα νοσοκομεία πλέον δεν μας πληροφορούν όταν έχουν αρρώστους από την ενορία μας. ΜΝΗΜΟΣΥΝΑ Επιμνημόσυνες δεήσεις γίνονται για την αιώνιον ανάπαυση των τεθνεώντων. Συνήθως, αυτές οι δεήσεις γίνονται κατά τις 40 ημέρες, τους 6 μήνες, τον 1 ον χρόνο και τον 3 ον χρόνο. Όταν έχουν περάσει τρία χρόνια, είναι πιο αρμόζον να ενθυμούμεθα τους αποθανόντας κατά τα Ψυχοσάββατα. ΠΕΡΙ ΓΑΜΩΝ Ο Γάμος είναι ένα από τα Ιερά Μυστήρια της Εκκλησίας μας, του οποίου ο ύστατος σκοπός είναι η καθαγίαση των συζύγων εις την Βασιλείαν του Θεού. Δια να παραμείνει ένας Ορθόδοξος Χριστιανός εντάξει απέναντι στην εκκλησία, πρέπει ο γάμος να τελεσθεί στην Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία. Η επιλογή του συντρόφου είναι μία ενδιαφέρουσα και όμορφη πορεία. Εκτός όλων των άλλων προσωπικών μας ανησυχιών δια την ανεύρεση ενός αγαπητού και τρυφερού συντρόφου, θα πρέπει να λάβουμε υπ όψιν και άλλους παράγοντες. Υπάρχει κανένα εμπόδιον; Υπάρχει συγγένεια εξ αίματος ή εξ αγχιστείας με άλλους συγγενείς; Επειδή ο Γάμος είναι ένα Μυστήριο που λαμβάνει χώρα στο Όνομα του Χριστού, οι δύο σύζυγοι πρέπει να πιστεύουν εις Αυτόν. Ο ένας από τους δύο πρέπει να είναι Ορθόδοξος Χριστιανός, και ο άλλος επίσης Χριστιανός. Εαν κάποιος από τους δύο είχε ξαναπαντρευθεί στο παρελθόν, πρέπει να έχει νομικό διαζύγιο. Εαν έχουν παντρευθεί στην Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία, απαιτείται εκκλησιαστικό διαζύγιο. Θα πρέπει να διαλέγουμε τον κουμπάρο με μεγάλη φροντίδα και προσοχή. Σύμφωνα με το έθιμο, ο κουμπάρος αυτός βαπτίζει το πρώτο παιδί και γι αυτό θα πρέπει να είναι ένας ευσυνείδητος Ορθόδοξος Χριστιανός. Θα πρέπει να είναι ΕΝΑΣ κουμπάρος. (Ενα παντρεμένο ζευγάρι μπορούν να γίνουν και οι δύο κουμπάροι σε γάμο, αφού «οι δύο γίνονται ένα» δια του γάμου.) Τέλος, να έχετε υπ όψιν σας ότι υπάρχουν ημέρες που δεν επιτρέπονται οι τελέσεις γάμων. Επικοινωνείτε με το γραφείο της εκκλησίας! Ο Γάμος είναι το πιο θαυμάσιο δώρο που μας έχει δώσει ο Κύριος. Όταν δύο άνθρωποι γνωρίζονται και ενώνουν τις υπάρξεις τους χωρίς εγωϊσμό και ιδιοτέλεια, αποδεχόμενοι τις ευλογίες τους και τα σφάλματά τους, δεν υπάρχει καλύτερο δώρο! Ζητώντας από τον Θεό να ευλογήσει την τρυφερή σχέση τους δια του Μυστηρίου του Γάμου είναι η ιδανική καθαγίαση αυτής της τρυφερής αυτής σχέσης! 5

7 FAMILY NIGHT Our Saint Haralambos Family Nights are for all Orthodox Christians who are 4 years old through 5 th grade and their parents. We meet every other Monday Evening from 5:30-7:00. Dinner will be provided during these events and we will eat as a community. Following our meal the children will have activities, while the parents also have activities. There will also be many fun outings throughout the year. During October, we will have family night on Monday, Octo- A NEW GROUP- JR GOYA For 6th, 7th and 8th graders! 8 LET US WORTHILY GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD Before Orthodox Christians receive Holy Communion, we fast, we pray, we ask for forgiveness and we forgive one another, in order to be as worthy as we can. After receiving Holy Communion, we hear this phrase: Let us worthily give thanks unto the Lord. We try to be worthy in receiving, and we try to be worthy in giving! This is a great prototype for all our life. We receive countless blessings from God throughout our life, and we try to live in a way that is worthy. We might not have thought this before, but in the same way that we try to be worthy of receiving, we should also be worthy in giving. Did you know, for example, that it is possible to give someone a gift that is beneath our dignity as givers? They say that Alexander the Great once gave a gold coin to a beggar, and his officers questioned him. They said that the man was only a beggar, and gold was too good for him; a copper coin would have been enough. Alexander responded: I am Alexander! I cannot give mere copper. I give gold. We can hope that there is some Alexander in each of us! In a similar way, St. Paul writes: Each person must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:7) If we make up our mind to give something, we should not do so reluctantly, or because of force or embarrassment; we should give cheerfully. This brings us to the stewardship of our Church. Our Church is our lifeblood; our connection to God, to faith, to sanctification, to our identity, our ancestors, our heritage, our friends, our life! Certainly, giving to God s work should bring out the Alexander in all of us! We should not complain about proportionate giving, that is, giving in proportion to our income. God Himself established this in the Old Testament, where the faithful gladly gave one tenth (10%) of their resources to God! Did you know that our current Stewardship level at St. Haralambos is less than 1% of the median income of our members. Less than 1%! Isn t it perfectly reasonable to come up to the level of at least 1%? We should not depend on our Food Fest and other fund-raising gimmicks just to keep our church open. Our Stewardship should be sufficient (from 650 families!) for the operational needs of our church. For this reason, the Parish Council has decided that $50,000 from the 2011 Food Fest will be placed in an improvement and development fund, with the faith that we, the stewards of St. Haralambos, will increase our stewardship in 2011 to cover this amount. The first nine months of the year have ended, and Stewardship statements for the last quarter of 2010 are being mailed. Are you a cheerful giver? Is there some Alexander in you? If you have not yet become a Steward for 2010, ask: How important how valuable is your Church to you? If you did not have your Church, would it matter? When you consider your Stewardship/Tithing contribution for 2011, will you donate 10%, or 5%, or 2% or at least 1%? We need our Church and our Church needs us! Stewardship is the major source of support for our church, and it is FAIR, because we are all asked to give in proportion to our means. Let us give with a cheerful heart. Let us be worthy, as receivers and as givers.... For God loves a cheerful giver. 8 ΑΞΙΩΣ ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΗΣΩΜΕΝ ΤΩ ΚΥΡΙΩ Οι Ορθόδοξοι Χριστιανοί πριν να λάβουμε Θείαν κοινωνίαν, νηστεύουμε, προσευχόμεθα, ζητάμε άφεσιν αμαρτιών και συγχωρούμε αλλήλους, δια να καθιστούμε άξιοι κατα το ανθρωπίνως δυνατόν. Όταν έχουμε λάβει την Θείαν Κοινωνίαν, ακούμε την φράση: «Αξίως ευχαριστήσωμε τω Κυρίω.» Προσπαθούμε να είμεθα άξιοι όταν λαμβάνουμε, και προσπαθούμε να είμεθα άξιοι κι όταν δίνουμε! Αυτό αποτελεί το υπέρτατο πρώτυπο όλης της ζωής μας. Κατά την διάρκεια της ζωής μας λαμβάνουμε αμέτρητες ευλογίες από τον Θεό και προσπαθούμε να ζήσουμε κατά τον πιο άξιο τρόπο. Μπορεί να μην το είχαμε σκεφτεί αυτό πριν, αλλά κατά τον ίδιο τρόπο που προσπαθούμε να είμεθα άξιοι να λαμβάνουμε, θα πρέπει επίσης να είμεθα άξιοι να δίνουμε. Για παράδειγμα, γνωρίζετε ότι είναι δυνατό να δώσουμε ένα δώρο το οποίο υποτιμά την αξιοπρέπειά μας ως δωρητές; Λένε ότι ο Μέγας Αλέξανδρος κάποτε έδωσε ένα χρυσό νόμισμα σε ένα ζητιάνο και οι αξιωματούχοι του τον επέπληξαν. Του είπαν ότι ο άνθρωπος αυτός ήταν απλώς ένας ζητιάνος, και το χρυσό νόμισμα ήταν πάρα πολύ γι αυτόν, καθόσον ένα χάλκινο νόμισμα θα ήτανε αρκετό. Ο Αλέξανδρος απάντησε: «Είμαι ο Αλέξανδρος! Δεν μπορώ να δώσω απλώς χάλκινο. Δίνω χρυσό» Ελπίζουμε ότι όλοι μας «κουβαλάμε» λίγο Αλέξανδρο μέσα μας! Κατά παρόμοιον τρόπον, ο Απόστολος Παύλος γράφει: «Έκαστος καθώς προαιρείται τη καρδία, μη εκ λύπης ή εξ ανάγκης, ιλαρόν γαρ δότην αγαπά ο Θεός» (Προς Κορινθίους Β 9:7) Εαν αποφασίσουμε να δώσουμε κάτι, να μη δώσουμε από ανάγκης, ή ντροπή, ή χωρίς ενθουσιασμό και προθυμία, αλλά με χαρά. Και έτσι καταλήγουμε στο Stewardship της εκκλησίας μας. Η Εκκλησία μας είναι η Ζωή μας, ο σύνδεσμός μας με τον Θεό, την πίστη, την καθαγίαση, την ταυτότητά μας, τους προγόνους μας, την κληρονομιά μας, τους φίλους μας! Βέβαια, όταν δίνουμε δια το έργο του Κυρίου πρέπει να «φανερώνεται» ο Αλέξανδρος που έχουμε μέσα μας! Δεν πρέπει να παραπονιώμαστε ότι πρέπει να αναλογίσουμε την προσφορά μας ανάλογα με το εισόδημά μας. Ο ίδιος ο Κύριος καθιέρωσε αυτό στην Παλαιά Διαθήκη, όπου οι πιστοί με χαρά έδιναν στον Κύριο το ένα δέκατο (10%) της περιουσίας των! Γνωρίζετε ότι ο μέσος όρος προσφοράς του Stewardship του τρέχοντος έτους είναι λιγότερο από το 1% του εισοδήματος των μελών μας. Λιγότερο από 1%! Δεν είναι λογικό να ανεβάσουμε την προσφορά τουλάχιστον στο 1%; Δεν θα έπρεπε να βασιζόμεθα στο Food Festival και σε άλλες φιλανθρωπικές εκδηλώσεις δια να κρατάμε την εκκλησία μας ανοικτή. Το Stewardship μας θα πρέπει (από 650 οικογένειες!) να είναι αρκετό δια να καλύπτει τις ανάγκες της επιβίωσης της εκκλησίας μας. Δια τον λόγο αυτό, τα μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου,απεφάσισαν όπως καταθέσουν $50,000 από τα έσοδα του 2011 Food Festival σε ένα λογαριασμό βελτίωσης και ανάπτυξης, με την πίστη ότι εμείς, οι stewards του Αγίου Χαραλάμπους, θα αυξήσουμε το επίπεδο της προσφοράς μας δια το STEWARDSHIP του 2011 δια να καλύψουμε αυτό το ποσό. Βρισκόμεθα στον ένατο μήνα του έτους, και έχουμε ήδη ταχυδρομήσει τα Stewardship statements. Είσθε ιλαρός δότης; Υπάρχει λίγος... Αλέξανδρος μέσα σας; Όταν θα αναλογισθείτε το επίπεδο της προσφοράς σας δια το Stewardship του 2011, θα δωρίσετε 10%, ή 5%, ή 2%, ή τουλάχιστον 1%; Χρειαζόμεθα την Εκκλησία μας και η Εκκλησία χρειάζεται εμάς! Το Stewardship είναι η σπουδαιότερη πηγή υποστήριξης της εκκλησίας μας, και είναι ΔΙΚΑΙΟ, που μας προτείνει να δώσουμε ανάλογα με τα έσοδά μας. Ας δίνουμε με ευχαρίστηση. Ας γίνουμε άξιοι όχι μόνον να λαμβάνουμε αλλά άξιοι και να δίνουμε... «Ιλαρόν γαρ δότην αγαπά ο Θεός»
