It contains important information on start-up and handling. To improve readability, the MicroNail nail polisher will be referred to as the nail polisher in this instruction manual. Before using the nail polisher, read the instruction manual carefully. This particularly applies for the safety notes. Non-observance of this instruction manual may cause damage to the nail polisher. The instruction manual is based on the standards and rules in force in the European Union. When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws! Store the instruction manual for future use. Make sure to include this instruction manual when passing the nail polisher on to third parties. 5

6 Explanation of symbols The following symbols and signal words are used in this instruction manual, on the nail polisher or on the packaging. WARNING! This signal word designates a hazard with a moderate degree of risk which may lead to death or severe injury if not avoided. CAUTION! This signal word designates a hazard with low risk that, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. NOTICE! This signal word warns against possible damage to property or provides you with useful additional information. Declaration of conformity (see chapter Declaration of conformity ): Products marked with this symbol fulfil the requirements of the CE directive. 20 This symbol identifies recycling instructions for cardboard and paper (see chapter Disposal ). This symbol identifies general recycling instructions. 6

7 Safety Proper use The nail polisher is designed for finger and toe nail care. The nail polisher is exclusively intended for private use. It is not suitable for commercial application e.g. in finger nail studios or for medical foot care. To the extent possible, the adapters should not be used by multiple persons. This will avoid the transmission of diseases, e.g. fungal infection of the nail. Do not use the nail polisher outdoors. The nail polisher is not a children s toy. Only use the nail polisher as described in this instruction manual. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage to property. The manufacturer or vendor accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use. Safety notes Risks associated with using batteries! The nail polisher is battery-operated. Improper handling of the batteries may result in injury and damage to property. Store the batteries in an area that is not accessible for children. If you suspect that a child has swallowed a battery, immediately contact a physician. Never expose the batteries to excessive heat such as direct sunlight, open flames or similar. Do not charge the batteries or reactivate them with other means. 7

8 8 Do not short circuit the batteries. Do not open the batteries. To prevent the batteries from leaking, only insert batteries of the same type in the nail polisher. If necessary, clean the battery and device contacts before inserting the batteries. When inserting the batteries in the compartment, make sure that the polarity is correct. Promptly remove empty batteries from the nail polisher. If a battery leaks in the nail polisher, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth. Do not allow battery acid to come into contact with skin, eyes or mucus membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, immediately flush the applicable areas with plenty of clean water and consult a physician if necessary. If you do not use the nail polisher for a prolonged period, remove the batteries from the battery compartment. Danger for children and persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons, older persons with reduced physical and mental capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children). This nail polisher may be used by children ages eight and over as well as persons with impaired physical,

9 sensory or mental capacities or those lacking experience and know ledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in how to safely use the nail polisher and have understood the risks associated with operating it. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by unsupervised children. Keep the nail polisher and its accessories away from children under eight years of age. Small parts and packaging foil that can be swallowed are included in the product contents. Keep children away from them; they could choke and suffocate. Risk of injury due to improper handling! Improper handling of the nail polisher may result in injury and damage to property. Only use the nail polisher on your finger and toe nails; do not use it on other parts of the body. Do not use the nail polisher if you suffer from diabetes or poor circulation. Do not use the nail polisher near open wounds or inflammations. Do not use the nail polisher if the rollers are damaged or worn. Risk of injury due to quickly rotating parts of the device! The axle and rollers of the nail polisher rotate at a high speed. 9

10 10 If you hold the rotating rollers on one part of the nail for a prolonged period, this may produce heat and inflict small burns under the nail. Long, flexible objects, hair and textiles could be drawn into the rotating rollers. This poses a risk of injury and damage to property. Do not hold the nail polisher on one area of your nails for a prolonged period. Keep the nail polisher away from hair, wigs and other long flexible objects, e.g. shoelaces, threads, textile fibres. Risk of damage to property! Improper handling of the nail polisher may result in damage to the nail polisher. Do not submerge the nail polisher in water or other liquids. Protect the nail polisher from shocks, extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Avoid the build-up of heat by not operating the nail polisher under a blanket or pillow. Do not use the nail polisher continuously for more than 20 minutes. Then the nail polisher must cool off for at least 15 minutes. Immediately switch off the nail polisher and stop using it if you smell smoke or notice smoke being emitted from the nail polisher during operation.

11 Only use the nail polisher with the original accessories. Do not open the sealed parts of the nail polisher and do not modify the nail polisher in any way. Do not use the nail polisher if it is damaged. Ask your physician before you use the nail polisher if... you suffer from a rash on your fingers or toes, skin irritation or diseases of the skin such as eczema, flaky skin etc. you have problems with veins and vascular problems or disorders relating to wound healing. if you wear a pacemaker. if you are not sure whether the nail polisher is suitable for you. Checking the nail polisher and product contents Risk of damage! If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointy object, you may quickly damage the nail polisher. Be very careful when opening. 1. Take the nail polisher out of the packaging. 2. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see fig. A). 3. Check whether the nail polisher or the individual parts exhibit damage. If this is the case, do not use the nail polisher. Contact the manufacturer at the service address specified on the warranty card. 11

12 Operation Inserting batteries 1. Hold the nail polisher in an upright position. 2. Push the battery compartment locking mechanism 10 in the indicated direction (see fig. B). 3. Pull the battery compartment cover 9 off (see fig. B and C). 4. Insert the batteries 8 with the correct polarity in the battery compartment (see fig. D). 5. Put the battery compartment cover back in place. At the same time, make sure that the recess for the On/Off switch 5 is properly positioned (see fig. A and D). 6. Push the battery compartment cover until it audibly locks into place. You can now attach one of the microsmooth rollers. Selecting a roller The nail polisher is delivered with two microsmooth rollers. Use the table below to select the roller that suits the intended application. 13 Attaching and removing the roller Risk of damage to property! Risk of damage to property! The microsmooth rollers are made of a flexible material and have surfaces for smoothing or polishing. Compressing the rollers could damage the surface material. Do not compress the rollers. Risk of damage to property! If you pull the attached roller off of the nail polisher axle while the nail polisher is switched on, you could damage the nail polisher. Never pull the attached roller that is still rotating off of the nail polisher when it is on. Always switch the nail polisher off before you change a roller. Attaching a roller 7. Attach the desired roller ( 6 or 7 ) to the axle 2 of the nail polisher (see fig. A and F). 8. Carefully push the roller completely onto the axle. 9. Gently shake the nail polisher to determine whether the roller is secure. Removing the roller 1. Carefully grasp the bottom end of the roller ( 6 or 7 ). 2. Pull the roller up and off of the axle 5 of the nail polisher (see fig. A and F). 13

14 Using the nail polisher Risk of damage to property! The nail polisher is designed for short operation not exceeding 20 minutes. Using the nail polisher continuously for more than 20 minutes could damage it. Then let the nail polisher cool off for at least 15 minutes. 1. Clean your nails before using the nail polisher on them. 2. Attach the desired roller to the axle 2 of the nail polisher (see fig. A and F). 3. Push the release button 4 on the On/Off switch 5 down (see fig. A and G). 4. Push the On/Off switch up to switch the nail polisher on. 5. Without applying pressure, move the nail polisher across the nail you would like to treat (see fig. H). In the process, only move over your nails for one to two seconds and then check the result. 6. If you are done treating your nails or if you would like to take a longer break, switch the nail polisher off by pushing the On/Off switch down (see fig. I). Tip: If you have smoothed your nails first, you can now polish them. For this, change the roller as described in the chapter Changing the rollers. After you are done with your nail care, clean the nail polisher as described in the chapter Cleaning. Also observe our notes in the chapter Tips for proper use. 14

15 Tips for proper use Take your time, particularly if you are not experienced in handling the nail polisher. Always apply the rollers to your nails without pressure. Move your nail polisher over your nails in circular motions and without applying pressure. Always take short breaks and check the result. Always use the correct rollers with the nail polisher for your intended application (see the chapter Selecting a roller ). Do not use the nail polisher too often so that the stability of your nails remains intact. We recommend you treat your nails every two weeks. Cleaning and maintenance Risk of damage to property! Liquids that have penetrated the housing could damage the nail polisher. The rollers are not water-proof. Do not let liquids penetrate the nail polisher. Only clean the roller when they are dry. Risk of damage to property! Using the wrong cleaners and cleaning utensils could damage the nail polisher. Do not use any hard, scratching or scouring cleaners and cleaning utensils, e.g. steel wool. 15

16 Cleaning the nail polisher After every use, clean your nail polisher as follows: 1. Take the roller off of the nail polisher (see fig. F). 2. Use a paper towel to remove dust from the nail polisher, particularly from the axle 2 and the dust guard 3 (see fig. A). 3. Use a paper towel to wipe the dust off of the rollers after use. 4. Store the cleaned, dry nail polisher and rollers in a cool, dry location. If the nail polisher is very dusty, you should also clean it as follows: 1. Remove the batteries. 2. Wipe the nail polisher off with a damp cloth or paper towel. 3. Dry the nail polisher with a dry cloth or paper towel. 4. Let the nail polisher air dry completely overnight without the battery. 5. Store the cleaned, dry nail polisher and rollers in a cool, dry location. Replacing the rollers Replace the microsmooth rollers as described in the chapter Attaching and removing the roller. Always replace the microsmooth rollers: after three complete treatments of all fingernails and toe nails. if the rollers appear to be worn. if the rollers have cracks or are otherwise damaged. For best results, we recommend always replacing both rollers at the same time. You can obtain original spare parts from your specialist dealer or on our website: 16

17 Troubleshooting In the event of an error, see if the following steps resolve the problem. Fault The nail polisher isn t working. Possible causes and solution The batteries may not have been inserted properly. Remove the batteries and insert them again. The batteries may be empty. Replace the batteries with new ones. The nail polisher is very slow. One of the rollers is damaged. The batteries may not have been inserted properly. Remove the batteries and insert them again. The battery power may be insufficient. Replace the batteries with new ones. Replace the damaged rollers with original spare parts. If these steps are not successful or if your nail polisher has to be repaired, contact the Silk n customer service team. Do not attempt to open or repair your nail polisher yourself. This will void your warranty claims and the nail polisher could be damaged as a result. Only authorised Silk n service personnel is trained to perform repairs. 17

Disposal Disposing of the packaging Dispose of the packaging separated into single type 20 materials. Dispose of cardboard and carton as waste paper and foils via the recyclable material collection service. 18

19 Disposing of the rollers Dispose of the rollers in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations for your country. Disposing of old devices (Applicable in the European Union and other European states with systems for the separate collection of reusable waste materials) Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste! If the nail polisher can no longer be used, every user is required by law to dispose of old devices separately from their household waste, e.g. at a collection point in his community/borough. This ensures that old devices are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the environment. For this reason, electrical devices are marked with the adjacent symbol. Batteries and rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with household waste! As the end user you are required by law to bring all batteries and rechargeable batteries, regardless whether they contain harmful substances* or not, to a collection point run by the communal authority or borough or to a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Turn in the batteries and rechargeable batteries at your collection point in a discharged state only! * labelled with: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead 19

25 Sécurité Utilisation conforme à l usage prévu Le polissoir à ongles est conçu pour le soins des ongles des mains et des pieds. Le polissoir à ongles est exclusivement destiné à un usage privé. Il ne convient pas à un usage commercial, comme par exemple dans des studios à ongles ni pour les soins médicaux des pieds. Si possible, ne pas utiliser les embouts pour plusieurs personnes. Ainsi, vous évitez la transmission de maladies, p. ex. champignons de pieds. N utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles en plein air. Le polissoir à ongles n est pas un jouet. Utilisez le polissoir à ongles uniquement selon ce qui est décrit dans ce mode d emploi. Toute autre utilisation est considérée comme non conforme à l usage prévue et peut causer des dommages matériels. Le constructeur ou le commerçant décline toute responsabilité pour les dommages causés par une utilisation inappropriée ou incorrecte. Consignes de sécurité Dangers par l utilisation des piles! Le polissoir à ongles fonctionne sur piles. L utilisation abusive des piles peut causer des blessures et des dommages matériels. Conservez les piles dans un endroit inaccessible pour les enfants. Si vous supposez qu un enfant a avalé une pile, allez immédiatement consulter un médecin. N exposez jamais les piles à une chaleur excessive, p. ex. aux rayons directs du soleil, à la flamme ou autres. 25

26 Ne rechargez pas les piles et ne réactivez pas les piles par d autres moyens. Ne court-circuitez pas les piles. N ouvrez pas les piles. Pour empêcher que les piles ne coulent, n utilisez que le même type de piles dans le polissoir à ongles. Si nécessaire, nettoyez les contacts des piles et de l appareil avant de placer les piles. En plaçant les piles, veillez à la bonne polarité. Enlevez immédiatement du polissoir à ongles les piles usées. Lorsqu une pile a coulé dans le polissoir à ongles, mettez des gants de protection et nettoyez le boîtier à piles avec un chiffon sec. Évitez tout contact de l acide des piles avec la peau, les yeux et les muqueuses. Si vous entrez en contact avec l acide de la pile, rincez immédiatement l endroit avec beaucoup d eau propre et allez consulter un médecin. Si vous ne souhaitez pas utiliser le polissoir à ongles pendant une longue période, retirez les piles du boîtier à piles. 26 Risques pour les enfants et les personnes ayant des capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales réduites (par exemple, des personnes partiellement handicapées, les personnes âgées ayant des capacités physiques et mentales réduites), ou un manque d expérience et de connaissances (par exemple, les enfants plus âgés).

Le nettoyage et l entretien par l utilisateur ne doivent pas être effectués par des enfants sans surveillance. Gardez le polissoir à ongles et ses accessoires éloignés des enfants de moins de huit ans. L étendue de la livraison comprend des petites pièces pouvant être avalées ainsi qu un film d emballage. Gardez les enfants éloignés car, en cas d ingurgitation, il y a risque d étouffement. Risque de blessure par une manipulation incorrecte! L utilisation abusive du polissoir à ongles peut causer des blessures et des dommages matériels. Utilisez le polissoir à ongles uniquement pour les ongles des mains et des pieds et pour aucune partie du corps. N utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles lorsque vous souffrez de diabète ou de mauvaise circulation sanguine. N utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles à proximité de plaies ouvertes ou d irritations. 28 28 Risque de blessure par des pièces d appareil à rotation rapide! L axe et les rouleaux du polissoir à ongles tournent à grande vitesse. Lorsque vous maintenez les rouleaux tournant trop longtemps sur vos ongles, ceci peut développer de la chaleur et provoquer de petites brûlures sous les ongles. Les objets longs, flexibles, les cheveux et les textiles peuvent être happés par les rouleaux en rotation. Ainsi, il existe le risque de blessures et de dommages matériels. Ne maintenez pas le polissoir à ongles trop longtemps sur un endroit de vos ongles. Éloignez le polissoir à ongles de vos cheveux, des perruques et d autres objets longs et flexibles, p. ex. cordelettes, fils, fibres textiles. Risque de dommages matériels! Une mauvaise manipulation du polissoir à ongles peut causer des dommages sur l appareil. Ne plongez pas le polissoir à ongles dans l eau ou d autres liquides. Protégez le polissoir à ongles contre les chocs, les températures extrêmes et les rayons directs du soleil. Évitez toute accumulation de chaleur, ne faites pas fonctionner le polissoir à ongles sous une couverture ou sous un coussin.

29 Utilisez le polissoir à ongles au maximum 20 minutes sans pause. Ensuite, il faut laisser refroidir le polissoir à ongles pendant au moins 15 minutes. Éteignez immédiatement le polissoir à ongles et ne l utilisez plus si, pendant le fonctionnement, de la fumée ou des odeurs s échappent du polissoir à ongles. Utilisez le polissoir à ongles uniquement avec des accessoires d origine. N ouvrez pas les parties scellés du polissoir à ongles et n effectuez aucune modification du polissoir à ongles. N utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles lorsqu il est endommagé. Interrogez votre médecin avant toute utilisation du polissoir à ongles, si... vous souffrez boutons sur les doigts ou les orteils, d irritations ou de maladies de la peau comme la dermatite atopique, le psoriasis etc. si vous avez des problèmes avec les veines et les artères ou si vous avez des problèmes de cicatrisation. si vous portez un pacemaker. si vous n êtes pas certain que le polissoir à ongles vous convient. Vérifier le polissoir à ongles et l étendue de la livraison Risque d endommagement! Si vous ouvrez l emballage sans précaution avec un couteau aiguisé ou des objets poin- 29

30 tus, vous pouvez endommager le polissoir à ongles. Lors de l ouverture, procédez avec précaution. 1. Sortez le polissoir à ongles de l emballage. 2. Vérifiez si la livraison est complète (voir figure A). 3. Contrôlez si le polissoir à ongles ou chaque pièce présente des dommages. Si c est le cas, n utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles. Veuillez vous adresser au fabricant au moyen de l adresse du service après-vente indiquée sur la carte de garantie. Manipulation Placer les piles 1. Maintenez le polissoir à ongles debout. 2. Poussez le fermoir du logement à piles 10 dans la direction indiquée (voir Fig. B). 3. Retirez le couvercle du logement à piles 9 (voir figure B et C). 4. Placez les piles 8 avec la bonne polarité dans le logement à piles (voir Fig. D). 5. Replacez le couvercle du logement à piles. Veillez à la bonne position de l évidement pour l interrupteur marche/arrêt 5 (voir Fig. A et D). 6. Appuyez fermement sur le couvercle du logement à piles jusqu à entendre un clic. Vous pouvez maintenant placer un des rouleaux Microsmooth. Changer de rouleau Le polissoir à ongles est livré avec deux rouleaux Microsmooth. Si vous retirez un rouleau de l axe du polissoir à ongles pendant que celui-ci est en marche, ceci peut l endommager. Lorsque le polissoir à ongles est en marche, ne retirez jamais un rouleau fixé ou tournant encore. Éteignez toujours d abord le polissoir à ongles avant de remplacer un rouleau. Placer un rouleau 1. Placez le rouleau souhaité ( 6 ou 7 ) sur l axe 2 du polissoir à 31

32 ongles (voir Fig. A et F). 2. Enfoncez prudemment le rouleau sur l axe. 3. Secouez légèrement le polissoir à ongles pour vérifier si le rouleau est bien fixé. Retirer le rouleau 1. Saisissez prudemment le rouleau ( 6 ou 7 ) par l extrémité du bas. 2. Tirez le rouleau par le haut de l axe 5 du polissoir à ongles (voir figure A et F). 32 Utiliser le polissoir à ongles Risque de dommages matériels! Le polissoir à ongles est conçu pour un fonctionnement de courte durée de maximum 20 minutes. Si vous utilisez le polissoir à ongles plus de 20 minutes sans pause, ceci peut l endommager. Ensuite, laissez refroidir le polissoir à ongles pendant au moins 15 minutes. 1. Nettoyez vos ongles avant le traitement avec le polissoir à ongles. 2. Placez le rouleau souhaité sur l axe du polissoir à ongles (voir Fig. A et F). 3. Appuyez sur la touche de sécurité sur l interrupteur marche/arrêt en l abaissant (voir figure A et G). 4. Poussez l interrupteur marche/arrêt vers le haut pour mettre le polissoir à ongles en marche. 5. Passez le rouleau sans pression sur l ongle à traiter (voir Fig. H). Pour ce faire, passez le polissoir à ongles une à deux secondes sur l ongle ensuite, contrôlez l effet.

33 6. Lorsque vous avez terminé le traitement de vos ongles ou si vous souhaitez faire une longue pause, éteignez le polissoir à ongles en descendant l interrupteur marche/arrêt (voir Fig. I). Conseil : Si vous avez lissé en premier lieu vos ongles, vous pouvez maintenant les polir. Pour ce faire, remplacez le rouleau comme décrit dans le chapitre «Remplacer les rouleaux». Lorsque le soin de vos ongles est terminé, nettoyez le polissoir à ongles comme décrit dans le chapitre «Nettoyage». Veuillez tenir compte de nos remarques du chapitre «Conseils pour le bon usage». Conseils pour le bon usage Prenez votre temps, particulièrement si vous n avez pas beaucoup d expérience dans la manipulation du polissoir à ongles. Passez toujours les rouleaux sur les ongles sans appliquer de pression. Passez le polissoir à ongles en faisant des mouvements circulaires et sans pression. Faites de temps en temps de courtes pauses et vérifiez le résultat. Avec le polissoir à ongles, utilisez toujours les rouleaux qui conviennent au but de traitement (voir chapitre «Changer de rouleau»). N utilisez pas le polissoir à ongles trop souvent pour conserver la stabilité de vos ongles. Nous recommandons une utilisation toutes les deux semaines. Nettoyage et entretien Risque de dommages matériels! Les liquides qui pénètrent dans le boîtier peuvent détruire le polissoir à ongles. Les 33

34 34 rouleaux ne sont pas étanches. Ne laissez pénétrer aucun liquide dans le polissoir à ongles. Nettoyez les rouleaux uniquement à sec. Risque de dommages matériels! Si vous utilisez le mauvais produit ou le mauvais objet de nettoyage, vous pouvez endommager le polissoir à ongles. N utilisez aucun produit d entretien dur, provoquant des rayures ou abrasif ni aucun objet de nettoyage comme, p. ex., de la paille de fer. Nettoyer le polissoir à ongles Nettoyez votre polissoir à ongles après chaque usage de la manière suivante : 1. Retirez le rouleau du polissoir à ongles (voir figure F). 2. Avec un chiffon de papier, retirez la poussière du polissoir à ongles, particulièrement sur l axe 2 et la protection contre la poussière 3 (voir figure A). 3. Essuyez la poussière des rouleaux utilisés avec un chiffon de papier. 4. Rangez le polissoir à ongles nettoyé et sec ainsi que les rouleaux dans un endroit frais et sec. Si le polissoir à ongles est encrassé de poussière, nettoyez-le en plus de la manière suivante : 1. Retirez les piles. 2. Essuyez le polissoir à ongles avec un chiffon légèrement humide ou du chiffon de papier.

35 3. Séchez le polissoir à ongles avec un chiffon sec ou du chiffon de papier. 4. Laissez sécher le polissoir à ongles sans piles pendant toute une nuit à l air libre. 5. Rangez le polissoir à ongles nettoyé et sec ainsi que les rouleaux dans un endroit frais et sec. Remplacer les rouleaux Remplacez les rouleaux Microsmooth comme ceci est décrit dans le chapitre «Placer et retirer le rouleau». Remplacer les rouleaux Microsmooth toujours : après trois traitements complets de tous les ongles des mains et des pieds. lorsque les rouleaux paraissent usés. lorsque les rouleaux présentent des fissures ou d autres dommages. Pour de meilleurs résultats, nous recommandons toujours de remplacer les deux rouleaux en même temps. Erreur Le polissoir à ongles ne fonctionne pas. Causes possibles et remèdes Il est possible que les piles ne soient pas correctement placées. Retirez les piles et remettez-les correctement en place. 43 Veiligheid Reglementair gebruik De nagelpolijstmachine werd ontworpen voor de verzorging van vinger- en teennagels. De nagelpolijstmachine is uitsluitend bestemd voor particulier gebruik. Voor commerciële toepassingen, zoals in vingernagelstudio s of voor de medische voetverzorging is ze niet geschikt. De accessoires mogen indien mogelijk niet door meerdere personen worden gebruikt. Zo vermijdt u de overdracht van ziekten, zoals nagelschimmel. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet in openlucht. De nagelpolijstmachine is geen speelgoed. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine alleen op de manier die in deze gebruiksaanwijzing is beschreven. Elk ander gebruik geldt als niet regulier en kan leiden tot materiële schade. De fabrikant of handelaar is niet aansprakelijk voor schade die is ontstaan door niet regulier of verkeerd gebruik. Veiligheidsinstructies Veiligheidsinstructies Risico s door het gebruik van batterijen! De nagelpolijstmachine werkt op batterijen. De verkeerde omgang met batterijen kan leiden tot verwondingen en materiële schade. Bewaar batterijen op een voor kinderen onbereikbare plaats. Als u vermoedt dat een kind een batterij heeft ingeslikt, zoek dan meteen een arts op. Stel de batterijen nooit bloot aan bovenmatige 43

44 hitte, zoals directe zonnestralen, een open vuur of iets dergelijks. Laad batterijen niet op en reactiveer ze niet met andere middelen. Zorg ervoor dat batterijen niet worden kortgesloten. Maak batterijen niet open. Gebruik in de nagelpolijstmachine alleen batterijen van hetzelfde type, zodat wordt verhinderd dat batterijen gaan lekken. Indien nodig reinigt u de batterij- en machinecontacten vooraleer u er batterijen in plaatst. Let bij de plaatsing van de batterijen op de juiste polariteit. Verwijder lege batterijen direct uit de nagelpolijstmachine. Als een batterij in de nagelpolijstmachine is uitgelopen, trekt u beschermende handschoenen aan en reinigt het batterijenvak met een droge doek. Vermijd het contact van batterijzuur met de huid, ogen en slijmvliezen. Als u met batterijzuur in aanraking bent gekomen, dient u deze plaatsen meteen af te spoelen met heel wat helder water en direct een arts op te zoeken. Als u de nagelpolijstmachine gedurende een langere tijd niet wenst te gebruiken, dient u de batterijen uit het batterijenvak te nemen. 44 Gevaren voor kinderen en personen met verminderd fysieke, sensorische of mentale vaardigheden (bij voorbeeld gedeelte-

45 lijk gehandicapten, oudere personen met een beperking van hun fysieke en mentale vaardigheden) of een gebrek aan ervaring en kennis (bij voorbeeld oudere kinderen). De nagelpolijstmachine kan door kinderen vanaf acht jaar en ook door personen met beperkte fysieke, sensorische of mentale vaardigheden of een gebrek aan ervaring en kennis worden gebruikt als ze onder toezicht staan of over het veilige gebruik van de nagelpolijstmachine werden geïnformeerd en de daaruit voortvloeiende risico s begrijpen. Reiniging en onderhoud door de gebruiker mogen niet door kinderen zonder toezicht worden uitgevoerd. Houd de nagelpolijstmachine en de accessoires ervan uit de buurt van kinderen jonger dan acht jaar. Bij de levering behoren kleine onderdelen en ook verpakkingsfolie die kunnen worden ingeslikt. Houd kinderen uit de buurt, want bij het inslikken bestaat het risico op verstikking. Verwondingsgevaar door een verkeerde hantering! De verkeerde omgang met de nagelpolijstmachine kan leiden tot verwondingen en materiële schade. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine alleen op vinger- en teennagels en anders op geen enkel deel van het lichaam. 45

46 Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet als u lijdt aan diabetes of een slechte bloedsomloop. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet in de buurt van open wonden of ontstekingen. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet met beschadigde of versleten rollen. Verwondingsgevaar door snel roterende onderdelen van het apparaat! De spil en de rollen van de nagelpolijstmachine draaien aan een hoge snelheid. Als u de draaiende rollen te lang op een plaats van uw nagel houdt, kan er hitte worden gevormd en kunnen kleinere brandwonden onder de nagel ontstaan. Lange, flexibele voorwerpen, haar en textiel kunnen door de draaiende rollen worden meegetrokken. Daardoor bestaat het risico op verwondingen en materiële schade. Houd de nagelpolijstmachine steeds niet te lang op een plaats van uw nagels. Houd de nagelpolijstmachine weg van haar, pruiken en andere lange, flexibele voorwerpen, zoals veters, draden, textielvezels. Gevaar voor materiële schade! Een verkeerde omgang met de nagelpolijstmachine kan leiden tot schade aan de nagelpolijstmachine. 46

47 Dompel de nagelpolijstmachine niet onder in water of andere vloeistoffen. Bescherm de nagelpolijstmachine tegen schokken, extreme temperaturen en directe zonnestralen. Vermijd de ophoping van warmte en gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet onder een deken of een kussen. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine hooguit 20 minuten zonder onderbreking. Daarna moet de nagelpolijstmachine gedurende minstens 15 seconden afkoelen. Schakel de nagelpolijstmachine meteen uit en gebruik ze niet meer als u tijdens het gebruik rook ruikt of ziet opstijgen uit de nagelpolijstmachine. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine alleen met originele accessoires. Open de verzegelde onderdelen van de nagelpolijstmachine niet en wijzig er niets aan. Gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine niet als ze is beschadigd. Vraag uw arts om raad vooraleer u de nagelpolijstmachine gebruikt, als... u uitslag hebt aan vingers of tenen, lijdt aan huidirritaties of een huidziekte zoals neurodermitis, psoriasis enz. u problemen hebt met de aders en bloedvaten of lijdt aan een verstoorde wondheling. u een pacemaker draagt. u niet zeker bent of de nagelpolijstmachine voor u geschikt is. 47

48 Nagelpolijstmachine en leveringspakket controleren 48 Beschadigingsgevaar! Als u de verpakking onvoorzichtig opent met een scherp mes of andere scherpe voorwerpen, dan kan de nagelpolijstmachine snel worden beschadigd. Ga voorzichtig te werk bij het openen. 1. Neem de nagelpolijstmachine uit de verpakking. 2. Controleer of de levering volledig is (zie afb. A). 3. Controleer of de nagelpolijstmachine of de afzonderlijke delen schade vertonen. Is dit het geval, gebruik de nagelpolijstmachine dan niet. Richt u dan via het service-adres op de garantiekaart tot de producent. Bediening Batterijen plaatsen 1. Houd de nagelpolijstmachine recht. 2. Schuif de sluiting van het batterijenvak 10 in de getoonde richting (zie afb. B). 3. Trek het deksel van het batterijenvak 9 (zie afb. B en C). 4. Plaats de batterijen 8 met de juiste polariteit in het batterijenvak (zie afb. D). 5. Plaats het deksel van het batterijenvak terug. Let daarbij op de juiste positie van de gleuf voor de aan/uit schakelaar 5 (zie afb. A en D). 6. Duw het deksel van het batterijenvak stevig vast tot het hoorbaar vastklikt. U kunt nu een van de Microsmooth-rollen plaatsen.
