3 The birds of the heaven will lodge beside them, they will give voice from the midst of the rocks. He waters the mountains from His chambers; the earth shall be satisfied with the fruit of Your works. He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and green herb for the service of men. He brings forth bread out of the earth; and wine makes the heart of man glad. To make his face cheerful with oil; and bread strengthens man s heart. The trees of the plain shall be satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which You have planted. There the sparrows will make their nests; the house of the heron is chief among them. The high mountains are a refuge for the harts, and so is the rock for the hares. He has made the moon for seasons; the sun knows his going down. You appointed the darkness, and there was the night, wherein all the beasts of the forest will go abroad. Young lions roaring after their prey, and seeking their food from God. The sun arises, and they gather together, and they lay down in their dens. But man shall go forth to his work, and to his labor until the evening. How magnified are Your works, O Lord! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is filled with Your creation. So is this great and spacious sea, therein are innumerable creeping things, small living creatures with the great. There go the ships; there this dragon whom You have made to play therein. All things wait on You, to give them their food in due season; when You give it to them, they will gather it. Ἐπ αὐτὰ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατασκηνώσει ἐκ µέσου τῶν πετρῶν δώσουσι φωνήν. Ποτίζων ὄρη ἐκ τῶν ὑπερῴων αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ καρποῦ τῶν ἔργων σου χορτασθήσεται ἡ γῆ. Ὁ ἐξανατέλλων χόρτον τοῖς κτήνεσι, καὶ χλόην τῇ δουλείᾳ τῶν ἀνθρώπων. Τοῦ ἐξαγαγεῖν ἄρτον ἐκ τῆς γῆς καὶ οἶνος εὐφραίνει καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου. Τοῦ ἱλαρῦναι πρόσωπον ἐν ἐλαίῳ καὶ ἄρτος καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου στηρίζει. Χορτασθήσεται τὰ ξύλα τοῦ πεδίου, αἱ κέδροι τοῦ Λιβάνου, ἃς ἐφύτευσας. Ἐκεῖ στρουθία ἐννοσσεύσουσι, τοῦ ἐρωδιοῦ ἡ κατοικία ἡγεῖται αὐτῶν. Ὄρη τὰ ὑψηλὰ ταῖς ἐλάφοις, πέτρα καταφυγὴ τοῖς λαγῳοῖς. Ἐποίησε σελήνην εἰς καιρούς ὁ ἥλιος ἔγνω τὴν δύσιν αὐτοῦ. Ἔθου σκότος, καὶ ἐγένετο νύξ ἐν αὐτῇ διελεύσονται πάντα τὰ θηρία τοῦ δρυµοῦ. Σκύµνοι ὠρυόµενοι τοῦ ἁρπάσαι, καὶ ζητῆσαι παρὰ τῷ Θεῷ βρῶσιν αὐτοῖς. Ἀνέτειλεν ὁ ἥλιος, καὶ συνήχθησαν, καὶ εἰς τὰς µάνδρας αὐτῶν κοιτασθήσονται. Ἐξελεύσεται ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τὸ ἔργον αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐργασίαν αὐτοῦ ἕως ἑσπέρας. Ὡς ἐµεγαλύνθη τὰ ἔργα σου, Κύριε, πάντα ἐν σοφίᾳ ἐποίησας, ἐπληρώθη ἡ γῆ τῆς κτίσεώς σου. Αὕτη ἡ θάλασσα ἡ µεγάλη καὶ εὐρύχωρος, ἐκεῖ ἑρπετὰ ὧν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθµός, ζῷα µικρὰ µετὰ µεγάλων. Ἡ καρδία µου ἐταράχθη, ἐγκατέλιπέ µε ἡ ἰσχύς µου καὶ τὸ φῶς τῶν ὀφθαλµῶν µου καὶ αὐτὸ οὐκ ἔστι µετ ἐµοῦ. 29 The Lord does deeds of mercy, and executes judgment for all those who are wronged. He has made His ways known to Moses, the things that He has willed to the sons of Israel. The Lord is compassionate and merciful, long suffering and plenteous in mercy; He will not be angered to the end, neither will He be angry to eternity. He has not dealt with us according to our iniquities, neither has He rewarded us according to our sins. For according to the height of heaven from the earth, so has the Lord made His mercy to prevail over those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our iniquities from us. Like a father has compassion on his sons, so has the Lord had compassion on those who fear Him; for He knows of what we are made, He has remembered that we are dust. As for man, his days are as the grass; as a flower of the field, so shall he blossom forth. For when the wind passes over it, then it shall be gone, and its place will no longer remember it. But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity, even to eternity, on those who fear Him. And His righteousness is on sons of sons, on those who keep His testament and remember to do His commandments. The Lord in heaven has prepared His throne, and His kingdom rules over all. Bless the Lord, O all you His Angels, mighty in strength, that perform His word, to hear the voice of His words. Bless the Lord, O all you His hosts, His ministers that do His will.
