And whosoever is a grateful servant, let him joyously enter into the joy of his Lord. And if any be weary with fasting, let him now receive his reward. If any has toiled form the first hour let him receive his just debt. If any came after the third let him gratefully celebrate. If any arrived after the sixth, let him not doubt; for he too shall sustain no loss. If any have delayed to the ninth, let him come without hesitation. If any arrived only at the eleventh hour, let him not be afraid by reason of his delay; for the Master is gracious and receives the last, even as the first. He gives rest to him who arrives at the eleventh hour, as well as him, who has labored from the first. He is merciful to the one who delays and nourishes the first. He gives also to the one, and to the other He is gracious. He accepts the works, as He greets the endeavor, He honors the deed, and the intent He commends. Let all of you then enter into the joy of your Lord. The first and second enjoy your reward. You rich and poor, rejoice together. You temperate and you heedless, honor the day. You who fasted, and you who did not, rejoice today. The table is richly laden. All of you, fare sumptuously on it. The Calf is a fatted one; let no one go away hungry. All of you enjoy the banquet of faith. All of you enjoy the riches of His goodness. Let no one grieve poverty; for the universal Kingdom has been revealed. Let no one grieve over sins; for forgiveness has dawned from the tomb. Let no one fear death; for the Death of our Savior has set us free. He has destroyed it by enduring it. He despoiled Hades, when He descended thereto. He embittered it, having tasted of His flesh. Isaiah foretold this when he cried out: You, O Hades, have been embittered by encountering Him below. It was embittered, for it was abolished. It was embittered, for it was mocked. It was embittered, for it was slain. It was embittered, for it was annihilated. It was embittered, for it is now made captive. It took a body, and lo, it discovered God. It took earth and behold, it encountered Heaven. It took what it saw, and was overcome by what it could not see. O death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and You are annihilated. Christ is risen, and the demons have fallen. Christ is risen, and the Angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life is liberated. Christ is risen, and the tomb is emptied of the dead; for Christ, having risen from the dead, has become the first fruits of those that who fall asleep. Εἴ τις μετά τήν ἕκτην ἔφθασε, μηδέν ἀμφιβαλλέτω καί γάρ οὐδέν ζημιοῦται. Εἰ τις ὑστέρησεν εἰς τήν ἐνάτην, προσελθέτω μηδέν ἐνδοιάζων. Εἴ τις εἰς μόνην ἔφθασε τήν ἐνδεκάτην, μή φοβηθῆ τήν βραδύτητα φιλότιμος γάρ ὤν ὁ Δεσπότης, δέχεται τόν ἔσχατον, καθάπερ καί τόν πρῶτον. Ἀναπαύει τόν τῆς ἑνδεκάτης, ὡς τόν ἐργασάμενον ἀπό τῆς πρώτης. Καί τόν ὕστερον ἐλεεῖ καί τόν πρῶτον θεραπεύει. Κἀκείνω δίδωσι καί τούτω χαρίζεται. Καί τά ἔργα δέχεται καί τήν γνώμην ἀσπάζεται. Καί τήν πρᾶξιν τιμᾶ καί τήν πρόθεσιν ἐπαινεῖ. Οὐκοῦν εἰσέλθετε πάντες εἰς τήν χαράν τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν καί πρῶτοι καί δεύτεροι, τόν μισθόν ἀπολαύετε. Πλούσιοι κάι πένητες, μετ ἀλλήλων χορεύσατε. Ἐγκρατεῖς καί ράθυμοι, τήν ἡμέραν τιμήσατε. Νηστεύσαντες καί μή νηστεύσαντες, εὐφράνθητε σήμερον. Ἡ τράπεζα γέμει, τρυφήσατε πάντες. Ὁ μόσχος πολύς, μηδείς ἐξέλθη πεινῶν. Πάντες ἀπολαύετε τοῦ συμποσίου τῆς πίστεως. Πάντες ἀπολαύσατε τοῦ πλούτου τῆς χρηστότητος. Μηδείς θρηνείτω πενίαν ἐφάνη γάρ ἡ κοινή βασιλεία. Μηδείς ὀδυρέσθω πταίσματα συγγνώμη γάρ ἐκ τοῦ τάφου ἀνέτειλε. Μηδείς φοβείσθω θάνατον ἠλευθέρωσε γάρ ἡμᾶς ὁ τοῦ Σωτῆρος θάνατος. Ἔσβεσεν αὐτόν ὑπ αὐτοῦ κατεχόμενος. Ἐσκύλευσε τόν Ἅδην ὁ κατελθών εἰς τόν Ἅδην. Ἐπίκρανεν αὐτόν γευσάμενον τῆς σαρκός αὐτοῦ καί τοῦτο προλαβών Ἡσαΐας ἐβόησεν Ὁ Ἅδης, φησίν, ἐπικράνθη, συναντήσας σοι κάτω. Ἐπικράνθη, καί γάρ κατηργήθη. Ἐπικράνθη, καί γάρ ἐνεπαίχθη. Ἐπικράνθη, καί γάρ ἐνεκρώθη. Ἐπικράνθη, καί γάρ καθηρέθη. Ἐπικράνθη, καί γάρ ἐδεσμεύθη. Ἔλαβε σῶμα καί Θεῶ περιέτυχεν ἔλαβεν γῆν καί συνήντησεν οὐρανῶ. Ἐλαβεν ὅπερ ἔβλεπε καί πέπτωκεν, ὁθεν οὐκ ἔβλεπε. Ποῦ σου, θάνατε, τό κέντρον; Πού σου, Ἅδη, τό νίκος; Ἀνέστη Χριστός, καί σύ καταβέβλησαι. Ἀνέστη Χριστός, καί πεπτώκασι δαίμονες. Ἀνέστη Χριστός, καί χαίρουσιν Ἄγγελοι. Ἀνέστη Χριστός, καί ζωήν πολιτεύεται. Ἀνέστη Χριστός, καί νεκρός οὐδείς ἐπί μνήματος. Χριστός γάρ ἐγερθείς ἐκ νεκρῶν ἀπαρχή τῶν κεκοιμημένων ἐγένετο.

Saints and Feasts On the holy and great Sunday of Pascha, we celebrate the life-bearing Resurrection of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ἀπολυτίκιον Τῆς Ἑορτῆς Χριστὸς ἀνέστη ἐκ νεκρῶν, θανάτῳ θάνατον πατήσας, καὶ τοῖς ἐν τοῖς µνήµασι, ζωὴν χαρισάµενος. Εἰσοδικόν Ἐν ἐκκλησίαις εὐλογεῖτε τὸν Θεόν, Κύριον ἐκ πηγῶν Ἰσραήλ. Σῶσον ἡµᾶς Υἱὲ Θεοῦ, ὁ ἀναστὰς ἐκ νεκρῶν, ψάλλοντάς σοι, Ἀλληλούϊα. Hymn of the Feast (Pl. 1 st Mode) Christ is risen from the dead, by death trampling down upon death, and to those in the tombs He has granted life. Entrance Hymn (2 nd Mode) Bless God in the churches, the Lord from the fountains of Israel. Save us, O Son of God, risen from the dead, we sing to You, Alleluia. Hypakoe (4 th Mode) When the women with Mary had come before dawn, and they found that the stone had been rolled away from the sepulcher, they heard from the Angel, "Why do you seek among the dead, as a mortal man, the One who exists in everlasting light? See the grave clothes in the sepulcher. Run and proclaim to the world that the Lord has risen and put death to death; for He is the Son of God who saves the human race." Kontakion of the Feast (Pl. 4 th Mode) Though You went down into the tomb, O Immortal One, yet You brought down the dominion of Hades; and You rose as the victor, O Christ our God; and You called out "Rejoice" to the Myrrh-bearing women, and gave peace to Your Apostles, O Lord who to the fallen grant resurrection. Instead of Holy God All those who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ, Alleluia. Hymn to the Theotokos (1 st Mode) Be illumined, illumined, O New Jerusalem; * for the glory of the Lord has arisen over you. * Dance now for joy, O Zion, and exult. * And you be merry, O pure Theotokos, * at the arising of the One you bore. Prokeimenon (for Agapi Vespers) Who is so great a God as our God? You alone are the God who does wonders. Verse: You made known Your power among the peoples. Verse: I said, " Now I see; this change is by the right hand of the Most High." Verse: I remembered the Lord's works, for I will remember Your wonders of old.

3 Today s Scripture Readings Acts of the Apostles 1:1-8 In the first book, O Theophilos, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. To them he presented himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days, and speaking of the kingdom of God. And while staying with them he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me, for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom of lsrael?" He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." John 1:1-17 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light. The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not. He came to his own home, and his own people received him not. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God; who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. (John bore witness to him, and cried, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me ranks before me, for he was before me.' ") And from his fullness have we all received, grace upon grace. Ἦν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ὃ φωτίζει πάντα ἄνθρωπον, ἐρχόµενον εἰς τὸν κόσµον. ἐν τῷ κόσµῳ ἦν, καὶ ὁ κόσµος δι' αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο, καὶ ὁ κόσµος αὐτὸν οὐκ ἔγνω. εἰς τὰ ἴδια ἦλθεν, καὶ οἱ ἴδιοι αὐτὸν οὐ παρέλαβον. ὅσοι δὲ ἔλαβον αὐτόν, ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἐξουσίαν τέκνα Θεοῦ γενέσθαι, τοῖς πιστεύουσιν εἰς τὸ ὄνοµα αὐτοῦ, οἳ οὐκ ἐξ αἱµάτων, οὐδὲ ἐκ θελήµατος σαρκὸς, οὐδὲ ἐκ θελήµατος ἀνδρὸς, ἀλλ' ἐκ Θεοῦ ἐγεννήθησαν. Καὶ ὁ Λόγος σὰρξ ἐγένετο καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν ἡµῖν, καὶ ἐθεασάµεθα τὴν δόξαν αὐτοῦ, δόξαν ὡς µονογενοῦς παρὰ πατρός, πλήρης χάριτος καὶ ἀληθείας. Ἰωάννης µαρτυρεῖ περὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ κέκραγεν λέγων Οὗτος ἦν ὃν εἶπον, Ὁ ὀπίσω µου ἐρχόµενος ἔµπροσθέν µου γέγονεν, ὅτι πρῶτός µου ἦν. Καὶ ἐκ τοῦ πληρώµατος αὐτοῦ ἡµεῖς πάντες ἐλάβοµεν, καὶ χάριν ἀντὶ χάριτος ὅτι ὁ νόµος διὰ Μωϋσέως ἐδόθη, ἡ χάρις καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐγένετο.

Last weekend, The Saturday of Lazarus Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and was hosted by the Supporters of the Challenge Divine Liturgy. It was a beautifully moving beginning to Holy Week and a wonderful way for the community to support the guests of the Challenge Divine Liturgy as well as to be blessed by His Eminence. Many volunteers and generous supporters helped make this day a success.
