2 INRDUCIN CAUIN his service manual describes the latest technical information for the ID-0H and ID-E0 VHF/UHF DIGIAL RANSCEIVER at the time of publication. NEVER connect the transceiver to an AC outlet or to a DC power supply that uses more than specified. his will ruin the transceiver. 10 FM DEMDULAR CIRCUIS AF FILER CIRCUIS In the FM mode, the filtered nd IF signal input from pin is amplified by the internal limiter amplifier, and FMdemodulated at the internal quadrature detector. he demodulated AF signals are then output from pin and applied to the AF circuits via the AF switch (IC). he demodulated AF signals are applied to the AF filter (Q) via the digital/analog signal selector (IC), to obtain suitable audio response the for receive mode (FM, AM or DV). he frequency response of the filter is controlled by AFFIL_ SEL signal from the CPU (IC). AM DEMDULAR CIRCUIS he filtered AF signals are applied to the variable pass-band frequency audio filter circuit (IC9a; pins, ). he circuit reduces audible noises included in the demodulated AF signals. In the AM mode, the filtered nd IF signal input from pin is amplified by the internal limiter amplifier, and AMdemodulated at the internal AM detector. he demodulated AF signals are output from pin and applied to the AF filter circuits via the AF switch (IC). he filtered AF signals are applied to the electric volume IC (IC) which adjusts the loudness by AF_VL_DAA and AF_VL_CK signals from the CPU (IC). DIGIAL (DV) DEMDULAR CIRCUIS In the DV mode, the filtered nd IF signal input from pin is amplified by the internal limiter amplifier, and FM-demodulated at the internal quadrature detector. he demodulated AF signals are applied to the digital demodulator circuits via the AF switch (IC). he level-adjusted AF signals are applied to the AF power AMP (IC) via the AF mute (Q0). AF PWER AMPLIFIER he FM-demodulated AF signals from the AF switch (IC) are applied to the modem (IC0) via the two buffers (IC9b; pins, and IC0), and converted into the digital signal. he converted digital signal is applied to the DSP CDEC (IC) via the level converter (IC000, 00, 00), to be decoded into the AME signal. he decoded AME signal is then applied to the liner CDEC IC (IC00) to be converted into the analog audio signal. he converted AF signals are applied to the RX AF circuits. he AF signals from the AF mute (Q0) are applied to the AF power AMP (IC), and amplified to obtain AF output power. he power-amplified AF signals are applied to the internal speaker (CHASSIS; SP) via J. 11 - RANSMIER CIRCUIS X AF CIRCUIS he MIC signals from the AF (IC) are passed through the pre-emphasis and IDC (for amplitude-limitting) circuits (ICb), MIC level adjustment circuit (ICa) and the splatter circuit (ICd) which cuts off the khz and higher audio signals. he filtered MIC signals are applied to the modulation circuits via the AF (IC; pins, ). MIC signals from the connected microphone are passed through the HPF (Q), and amplified by the MIC AMP (IC). he amplified MIC signals are passed through the MIC gain (Q) which selects the MIC sensitivity from High or Low, and the MIC mute (IC0), then passed through or bypassed the ALC AMP (IC) via the AF s (IC9 and IC). In the DV mode, the filtered MIC signals are applied to the digital converter circuits before being applied to the modulation circuits via the AF (IC; pins, ). 12 X AMPLIFIER CIRCUIS (VHF AND) X AMPLIFIERS (UHF AND) he output signal of VHF VC (Q, D ) is passed through the L (D), and A, then applied to the drive AMP (Q) via the limiter (D9), to obtain adequate input level for the power AMP (power MS-FE module; IC). he output signal of UHF VC (Q, D, 9, 9) is passed through the L (D0), HPF and A, then applied to the pre-drive AMP (Q). he amplified X signal is applied to the drive AMP (Q) via the limiter (D) and amplified to obtain adequate input level for the power AMP (power MSFE module; IC). he amplified X signal is power-amplified to 0 W (approx.; W for [PE] ver.) of output power (max.) by the power AMP (IC). he amplified X signal is power-amplified to 0 W (approx.; W for [PE] ver.) of output power by the power AMP (IC). he power-amplified X signal is passed through the which attenuates harmonic components to prescribed level, then applied to the antenna connector via the power detector (D9,, 00), X/RX (D9,,, ) and two s. he power-amplified X signal is passed through the which attenuates harmonic components to prescribed level, then applied to the antenna connector via the power detector (D,, 00), X/RX (D0,,,, ), HPF and. IC is an APC amplifier for both of V/UHF bands. he X power setting voltage PCN_ V from the D/A converter (IC) is applied to the pin as a reference. IC is rolled as a differential amplifier which outputs voltage in inverse proportion to rectified one. A portion of the X signal from IC is rectified at the power detector (D,, 00), and converted into the DC voltage which is in proportion to the RF power, and applied to the operational amplifier (IC, pin ). IC is an APC amplifier for both of V/UHF bands. he X power setting voltage PCN_ U from the D/A converter (IC) is applied to the pin as a reference. IC is rolled as a differential amplifier which outputs voltage in inverse proportion to rectified one. 13 - FREQUEY SYNHESIZER PLL VCs he PLL circuit provides stable oscillation of the transmit frequency and receive st L frequency. he PLL output frequency is controlled by control signals including divide ratio ( PLLCK, "PLLDAA and "PLLS") from the CPU (IC). VHF VC he VHF VC is composed by the oscillator circuit (Q, D,, ) and buffer AMP (Q), and generates both of st L signals and X signal for VHF band. he VC oscillating signals are buffer-amplified by Q, amplified by the L AMP (IC) to obtain adequate L level, then applied to the X amplifiers or st IF mixer via the L, A and filter. PLL (VHF VC) A portion of VHF VC output signals from the buffer (Q) are applied to the PLL IC (IC) via the VC switch (D). he applied signals are divided at the prescaler and programmable counter. While transmitting; he VC output signals from the L AMP (IC) are applied to the X amplifiers via the L (D) as the X signal. he divided signal is phase-compared with the. MHz reference frequency signal from the reference frequency oscillator (X), at the phase detector. While receiving; he VC output signals from the L AMP (IC) are passed through the L (D0), A and the, then applied to the st IF mixer (Q), as the st L signals for 0 MHz band. he phase difference is output from pin as a pulse type signal after being passed through the internal charge pump. he output signal is converted into the DC voltage (lock voltage) by passing through the loop filter (R9-9, C9). he lock voltage is applied to the variable capacitors (D, ), and locked to keep the VC frequency constant. he VC output signals from the L AMP (IC) are passed through the L (D0), A, RF and, then applied to the st IF mixer (Q), as the st L signals for 00 MHz band. UHF VC he UHF VC is composed by the oscillator circuit (Q, D, 9, 9) and buffer AMP (Q), and generates both of st L signals and X signal for UHF band. PLL (UHF VC) A portion of VHF VC output signals from the buffer (Q) are applied to the PLL IC (IC) via the VC switch (Q0). he applied signals are divided at the prescaler and programmable counter. he VC oscillating signals are buffer-amplified by Q, amplified by the L AMP (IC) to obtain adequate L level, then applied to the X amplifiers or st IF mixer via the L, A and filter. he divided signal is phase-compared with the. MHz reference frequency signal from the reference frequency oscillator (X), at the phase detector.
