You established the holy Fathers upon the earth as beacons, and through them You have guided us all to the true Faith, O greatly merciful One, glory be to You. Kontakion O Protection of Christians that never falls, intercession with the Creator that never fails, we sinners beg you, do not ignore the voices of our prayers. O good Lady, we implore you, quickly come unto our aid, when we cry out to you with faith. Hurry to intercession, and hasten to supplication, O Theotokos who protect now and ever those who honor you. Εἶναι ἀξιόπιστα τὰ λόγια αὐτά, καὶ αὐτὰ θέλω νὰ διαβεβαιώνῃς, ὥστε

3 Blessed are they whose transgressions have been forgiven. The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to Titus 3:8-15. Titus, my son, the saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned. When I send Artemas or Tychicos to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not to be unfruitful. All who are with me send greeting to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen. νὰ φροντίζουν ἐκεῖνοι ποὺ ἐπίστεψαν εἰς τὸν Θεὸν νὰ εἶναι πρωτοπόροι καλῶν ἔργων. Αὐτὰ εἶναι τὰ καλὰ καὶ ὠφέλιμα διὰ τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, ἀλλ ἀπόφευγε μωρὰς συζητήσεις, γενεαλογίας, ἔριδας καὶ φιλονεικίας διὰ τὸν νόμον, διότι εἶναι ἀνωφελεῖς καὶ μάταιαι. Αἱρετικὸν ἄνθρωπον μετὰ πρώτην καὶ δευτέραν νουθεσίαν, ἄφηνέ τον. Νὰ γνωρίζῃς ὅτι ἕνας τέτοιος ἔχει διαστραφῆ, ἁμαρτάνει καὶ ἔτσι καταδικάζει ὁ ἴδιος τὸν ἑαυτόν του. Ὅταν θὰ στείλω τὸν Ἀρτεμᾶν σ ἐσὲ ἢ τὸν Τυχικόν, φρόντισε νὰ ἔλθῃς σ ἐμὲ εἰς τὴν Νικόπολιν, διότι ἐκεῖ ἀπεφάσισα νὰ περάσω τὸν χειμῶνα. Τὸν Ζηνᾶν τὸν νομικόν, καὶ τὸν Ἀπολλὼ κατευόδωσέ τους μὲ ἐνδιαφέρον, διὰ νὰ μὴ τοὺς λείψῃ τίποτε. Ἂς μαθαίνουν καὶ οἱ δικοί μας νὰ εἶναι πρωτοπόροι καλῶν ἔργων εἰς ἐπειγούσας ἀνάγκας, διὰ νὰ μὴν εἶναι ἄκαρποι. Σὲ χαιρετοῦν ὅλοι ὅσοι εἶναι μαζί μου. Χαιρέτησε ἐκείνους ποὺ μᾶς ἀγαποῦν ἐν πίστει. 4 GOSPEL - MATTHEW 5:14-19 ΚΑΤᾺ ΜΑΤΘΑῦΟΝ 5:14-19 The Lord said to his disciples, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Σεῖς εἶσθε τὸ φῶς τοῦ κόσμου δὲν εἶναι δυνατὸν νὰ κρυφθῇ πόλις, ποὺ βρίσκεται ἐπάνω σ ἕνα βουνό. Οὔτε ἀνάβουν λυχνάρι καὶ τὸ τοποθετοῦν κάτω ἀπὸ τὸ μόδι, ἀλλ ἐπάνω εἰς τὸν λυχνοστάτην καὶ ἔτσι λάμπει εἰς ὅλους, ποὺ βρίσκονται εἰς τὸ σπίτι. Ἔτσι πρέπει νὰ λάμψῃ τὸ φῶς σας ἐμπρὸς στοὺς ἀνθρώπους, διὰ νὰ ἰδοῦν τὰ καλά σας ἔργα καὶ νὰ δοξάσουν τὸν Πατέρα σας ποὺ εἶναι εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν». «Μὴ νομίσετε ὅτι ἦλθα διὰ νὰ καταργήσω τὸν νόμον ἢ τοὺς π ρ ο φ ή τ α ς. Δ ὲ ν ἦ λ θ α ν ὰ καταργήσω, ἀλλὰ νὰ ἐκπληρώσω. Ἀλήθεια σᾶς λέγω, ἕως ὅτου παρέλθῃ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, οὔτε ἕνα γιῶτα ἢ μικρὴ στιγμὴ δὲν θὰ καταργηθῇ ἀπὸ τὸν νόμον, μέχρις ὅτου γίνουν ὅλα. Ἐκεῖνος λοιπὸν ποὺ θὰ παραβῇ μίαν ἀπὸ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτὰς τὰς ἐλαχίστας καὶ διδάξῃ τοὺς ἄλλους νὰ κάνουν τὸ ἴδιο, αὐτὸς θὰ ὀνομασθῇ ἐλάχιστος εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν, ἐνῷ ἐκεῖνος ποὺ τὰς ἐφαρμόζει καὶ τὰς διδάσκει, αὐτὸς θὰ ὀνομασθῇ μεγάλος εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν. 4...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven

Askush nuk e ndez kandilin për ta vënë nën magje, por e vë në mbajtësen e vet, që të ndriçojë të gjithë ata që janë në shtëpi. Kështu duhet të shndrisë drita juaj para njerëzve, që të shohin veprat tuaja të mira dhe të përlëvdojnë Atin tuaj që është në qiej». «Mos mendoni se kam ardhur për të shfuqizuar ligjin e Moisiut apo profetët. Unë nuk kam ardhur për t'i shfuqizuar, po për t'i përmbushur. Me të vërtetë po ju them: derisa të jetë qielli e toka, asnjë i dhe asnjë pikë mbi i nuk do t'i hiqet ligjit të Moisiut para se të ndodhë gjithçka. Prandaj, kushdo që e shpërfill njërin nga këto urdhërime, qoftë edhe më të voglin, dhe do t'i mësojë edhe të tjerët të bëjnë po ashtu, ai do të jetë më i vogli në mbretërinë e qiejve.
