CEMETERY VISITS: Due to the number of sacraments, 40 day blessings and memorials on Sundays it is difficult to make cemetery visits on Sundays after liturgy. If you would like a Trisagion at the graveside during the week you are kindly asked to make an appointment by calling the church office. WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS! Everyone is welcome in the Orthodox Church and may receive the blessed bread (antidoron) at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy. Sadly, the divisions in the church prompt us all to work towards reunited Christianity. The culmination of this reunion will be the ability of all Christians to receive the Eucharist together. Until that blessed day arrives, Orthodox Christians who are in good sacramental order are only permitted to receive Holy Communion in the Orthodox Church. If you have any questions or concerns please speak with Father Chris. HOSPITAL VISITS Salem Hospital is making a change in order to be in compliance with new privacy laws. This change will mean that we will no longer receive the list of Orthodox patients in the hospital. So, if you or a loved one will be in the hospital please call the church office so that we can pay you a pastoral visit. This change will also affect Beverly Hospital as well. TOWN HALL INFORMATION MEETING SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2013 10:30 AM DURING COFFEE HOUR IN THE GYM The Parish Council invites all Stewards to a Town Hall Style Meeting to review and discuss the St Vasilios PTA Scholarship Endowment Investment Policy. The Investment Committee has prepared and submitted to the Parish Council for approval an Investment Policy to govern the oversight of the Scholarship Endowment Fund. This Policy requires a vote from the Parish Council and endorsement from the Metropolis. It must then be presented to the General Assembly for final approval. We will take some time on October 6 th to answer any questions pertaining to the policy as a way to limit the time spent in discussion at the General Assembly meeting to be held in November. The Policy will be available as a hard copy in the office by October 1 st and can also be sent electronically if requested. You may also submit questions in writing in advance of the Town Hall or General Assembly at the office or via email to Pam@stvasilios.org.
