HYMNS OF THE DAY Resurrectional Apolytikion in the First Mode: O Faithful, let us sing a hymn of praise and worship to the Logos, coeternal with the Father and the Spirit, who was born of the Virgin for our salva on. Of His own will He went upon the Cross in the flesh and suffered death, to raise the dead through His glorious Resurrec on. Apolytikion for Forefeast of the Entry of the Theotokos in the Fourth Mode: By blossoming forth the only Ever-virgin as fruit, today holy Anna doth betroth us all unto joy, instead of our former grief; on this day she doth fulfil her vows to the Most High, leading her with joy into the Lord's holy temple, who truly is the temple and pure Mother of God the Word. Seasonal Kontakion in the Fourth Mode: The whole world is filled today with joy and gladness on the Theotokos's auspicious and resplendent feast, whereon with great voice it crieth out: The heavenly tabernacle is she in truth. Receiving Holy Communion - We welcome to this celebration of the Divine Liturgy those Christians who are from other Christian Denominations and who are not fully united with us. Sadly, it is a consequence of the divisions in Christianity that we cannot extend to you an invitation to receive Holy Communion. Orthodox Christians believe that the Eucharist is the work or action of the celebrating community signifying a oneness of faith, life, and worship of the believing community. Reception of Holy Communion by Christians not fully united with us would imply a oneness which does not yet exist, and for which we must pray. However, all present are welcome to partake of the Antidoro (blessed bread) which is distributed at the end of the Liturgy Service.

EPISTLE READING Prokeimenon. Plagal First Mode. Psalm 11.7,1. You, O Lord, shall keep us and preserve us. Verse: Save me, O Lord, for the godly man has failed The reading is from St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 6:11-18. BRETHREN, see with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh that would compel you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God. Henceforth let no man trouble me; for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen. Plagal First Mode.

9th Sunday of Luke The Reading is from Luke 12:16-21 Κατὰ Λουκᾶν 12:16 21 GOSPEL READING The Lord said this parable: "The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to himself, 'What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.' But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. " As he said these things, he cried out: "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." Installa on of the Icon of Panagia Gorgoipikoos (Παναγία η Γοργοϋπήκοος) the quickly helping miraculous icon of the Holy Monastery of Thocheiariou of Mt. Athos. Our church is blessed to receive the gi of this icon, which is a replica of the original 16th century Icon, from the Holy Monastery. We will commemorate the installa on the Panagia Gorgoipikoos on December 15 with a Vespers Service at 6.30 PM, His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios officia ng. The icon is named Gorgoipikoos, which means quickly helping, because of the many miraculous works that have been bestowed quickly on those who request the help of the Theotokos with reverence and faith.
