It amassed treasures of munificence in the world. It demonstrated the greatness of humility, teaching us by your own words; therefore, O Father John Chrysostom, intercede to Christ the Logos for the salvation of our souls. Seasonal Kontakion in the Fourth Mode: Today, the most pure temple of the Savior, the precious bridal chamber and Virgin, the sacred treasure of God, enters the house of the Lord, bringing the grace of the Divine Spirit. Receiving Holy Communion - We welcome to this celebration of the Divine Liturgy those Christians who are from other Christian Denominations and who are not fully united with us. Sadly, it is a consequence of the divisions in Christianity that we cannot extend to you an invitation to receive Holy Communion. Orthodox Christians believe that the Eucharist is the work or action of the celebrating community signifying a oneness of faith, life, and worship of the believing community. Reception of Holy Communion by Christians not fully united with us would imply a oneness which does not yet exist, and for which we must pray. However, all present are welcome to partake of the Antidoro (blessed bread) which is distributed at the end of the Liturgy Service.

3 EPISTLE READING The reading is from St. Paul's Le er to the Hebrews 7:26 28; 8:1 2. Prokeimenon. First Mode. Psalm 48.3,1. My mouth shall speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart shall bring forth understanding. Verse: Hear this all you nations. Brethren, it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever. Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord. τὸ Ἀνάγνωσμα Πρὸς Ἑβραίους 7:26-28, 8:1-2. And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself." And he said to him, "You have answered right; do this, and you will live." But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Jesus replied, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was; and when he saw him, he had compassion, and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; then he set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.' Booras Chapter #406 Instead of the Metaxas Scholarship s fundraiser we are asking our members and members of the Taxiarchae community to support the AHEPA Metaxas Scholarships by sending donations towards this cause. Your Stewardship provides the founda on for our Parish Ministries and our efforts in mee ng the challenge of spreading Christ s Word and our Orthodox Faith. Stewardship is an opportunity to examine our priori es and values, to express our thankfulness, to give of ourselves and to grow in grace. It allows us to par cipate in the work of God. 12 Thanksgiving Food Drive Our parish is again collecting nonperishable food items to donate to families in need, and to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Food Pantry in Brighton. We are asking all parishioners to please bring one or more food items to the Church. The Sunday School students will also be collecting monetary donations each week after Liturgy to purchase additional food items for donation. Our food drive will continue until Sunday, November 20th.
