Song practices will immediately follow the Youth Hymnology session each Sunday from now through Sunday, December 15. After the pageant practice the Sunday School students will proceed upstairs to their classrooms. Please make sure that your child(ren) attends at least three (3) Sunday School classes between now and December 15 in order to participate in this year s pageant. Selections for reading and main play parts will be made on Sunday, December 8. A full rehearsal and costume distribution will immediately follow the PTA sponsored Communion Breakfast on Saturday, December 21. As director of the pageant, I look forward to having everyone together for another beautiful Sunday School Christmas Pageant and encourage all of the Holy Trinity Cathedral children to participate. Warm Regards, Christina Kogos HOPE & JOY ACTIVITY Today, Sunday, November 17, the HOPE & JOY members will gather in the gymnasium after Youth Greek School to create Christmas ornaments, which they will take home and place on their own Christmas trees. A Lenten meal will be provided for the young artists. The combination craft workshop and luncheon will begin at 1:00 pm and should last until 2:00 pm. YOUTH HYMNOLOGY PROGRAM During November the Sunday School students will learn "Agios o Theos The Trisagion," or Thrice Holy Hymn, a short prayer praising the holiness of God. It is chanted early in the Divine Liturgy and follows the Small Entrance after the priest has returned to the altar. Immediately following Holy Communion all students will proceed to the gymnasium for this instruction. Parents and grandparents are welcome to sit in during the session. ANGEL TREE Once again, the Philoptochos Society is accepting donations for the Angel Tree, a most popular project that benefits several special families within our Cathedral Community. Holy Trinity PTA, Hope & Joy, and GOYA also participate by decorating the tree and making the ornaments. Please stop by, select an ornament, and fill a parishioner's Christmas wish. Ornaments may be picked up on Sundays, December 1 and 8. All gifts are due back on December 15. Diana Moustoukas Peterson and Viki Moustoukas will be available in the Coffee Room after services on the above dates to answer any questions. PHILOPTOCHOS ARTOCLASIA AND RECEPTION Many thanks to reception chairperson Angie Kringas and everyone, who provided pastries and other delicious fare to the Philoptochos reception commemorating the Feast Day of Saints Cosmas and Damian. Philoptochos also extends thanks to Evangelia Bilalis, who made the artoclasia. Through your generous support of the Special Tray passed last Sunday, Philoptochos was enabled to send $350 to the National Ladies Philoptochos Ecumenical Patriarchate fund, a ministry which brings both material and spiritual comfort to the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ, who know Constantinople as their home. THANKSGIVING DONATION Thank you to everyone, who made a monetary donation or donated a gift card for the Thanksgiving basket that will be prepared for the needy members of our community.
