Therefore, I intend always to remind you of these things, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to arouse you by way of reminder, since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. And I will see to it that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things. For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For when he received honor and glory from God the Father and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," we heard this voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. And we have the prophetic word made more sure. You will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. AHEPA BBQ A Community BBQ sponsored by the SLC AHEPA Family is scheduled for Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Prophet Elias Pavilion. EVERYONE IS WELCOME. Menu will include Lamb on a spit, Chicken, as well as Pilafi, corn on the cob, Salata and watermelon and deserts. Music, Food and Fun. Cost is $20 for Adults, $10 for children (12 and under). AHEPA SCHOLARSHIP The Salt Lake Chapter of AHEPA is once again offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors entering college this fall and to undergraduates currently attending a college full time. Because of a successful AHEPA Convention Golf Tournament, we are increasing the number to five $1000 scholarships to qualified applicants. Membership in AHEPA by the applicant or a family member is not required. The applicant or family must be a member of one of the Salt Lake Greek Orthodox churches. Deadline is August 15, 2017. Please remember to check with your County Treasurer s Office to see if you qualify for any benefits or tax relief under the Circuit Breaker tax provisions or any other such laws or regulations. The County Treasurer s Office and its tax administration have all the necessary forms to fill out requesting the relief you may qualify for regarding your property taxes.
