FP7 People: ΠΡΟΫΠΟΛΟΓΙΣΜΟΣ: ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ: Marie Curie Actions Initial Training Network 4,6 εκατομμύρια ευρώ 4 χρόνια ΕΝΑΡΞΗ: 1 η Δεκεμβρίου 2010 Υποτροφίες: 3 Experienced Researchers(3 χρόνια) 16 Early Stage Researchers(2 χρόνια)

MARIE CURIE Initial Training Network http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/mariecurieactions/itn_en.html
MARIE CURIE Initial Training Network This action aims to improve career perspectives of early-stage researchers in both public and private sectors, thereby making research careers more attractive to young people. This is achieved through a trans-national networking mechanism, aimed at structuring the existing high-quality initial research training capacity throughout Member States and Associated countries. Direct or indirect involvement of organizations from different sectors, including (lead-) participation by private enterprises in appropriate fields, is considered essential in the action.
Initial Training Networks are limited to researchers in the first five (5) years of their career at the time of recruitment. Experience is calculated at the date of appointment.
Early-stage researchers Early-stage researchers are those who are, at the time of selection by the host institution, in the first four years (full-time equivalent) of their research careers. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which formally entitles them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided, irrespective of whether or not a doctorate was envisaged.
Experienced Researchers Eligible applicants for this Experienced Research Fellowship (equivalent to a post-doctoral position) must either be in possession of a doctoral degree, irrespective of the time taken to acquire it, or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience. Their total research experience must not exceed 5 years after obtaining their Masters' degree.
Mobility Requirement Mobility of researchers remains the key objective of the People programme. Thus although researchers can be nationals of any country, including non-european countries, at the time of selection by the host organisation, they must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment.
Favorable employment and working conditions are essential for attractive research careers. Marie Curie actions are leading by example through fostering the importance of working and employment conditions and competitive salaries, in particular through a system of adequate family and career development allowances, and annual adjustments of salaries.
