In December we had our General Assembly. As trends go, we had low attendance. However,we brought items on to the agenda that must be addressed for the safety of our building. First, I would like to thank the Ladies Philoptochos and other donors for their support of the library renovations. The library had roof damage, that caused mold damage to the bookcase and floor. This week, we discovered termites too. The Philoptochos will cover the $2,500 costs (not including furniture) to repair. We hope to have it finished before Father Mathew Baker s one year memorial service on February 28. Secondly, the other item of immediate concern is the dome of the church. The copper panels need a complete over haul along with the circle blue windows. The estimate is over $15,000. Therefore, In the coming months we will be asking our community for financial support for the necessary repairs. I am certain that united as one spiritual family we can fulfill the needs of our church building. Lastly, in December, we met with Metropolitan Methodios. He advised us to complete the rectory house as soon as possible. This is in line with being assigned a new priest to our parish. I believe that God is guiding all of us to be more active in our parish community. In addition, we have ministries that need Volunteers. Please consider what your contribution will be in May God Bless all of us always, Maria Αγαπητοί ενορίτες, Θα ήθελα να πιστεύω ότι το 2016 θα ειναι το ιδανικό έτος για την υπέροχη μας εκκλησία, την Αγία Τριάδα. Τον Δεκέμβριο, είχαμε την γενική συνέλευση και δυστυχώς οι παρουσίες ήταν λιγοστές, αλλά συζητήσαμε θέματα της ατζέντας που πρέπει να προσελκύσουμε σε σχέση με την ασφάλεια του κτιρίου. Πρώτον, θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω τις κύριες του συλλόγου Φιλόπτωχος και άλλους δωρητές για την υποστήριξη τους στο θέμα ανακαίνισης της βιβλιοθήκης μας. Είχε υποστεί ζημιές στο πάνω μέρος της οροφής το οποίο προκάλεσε μούχλα στα ξύλινα ράφια της βιβλιοθήκης και στο πάτωμα. Αυτήν την βδομάδα ανακαλύψαμε ότι εισχωρήσανε και τερμίτες. Η Φιλόπτωχος υποσχέθηκε να δώσει $2,500 (άνευ κάλυψης εξόδων αγοράς επίπλων). Ελπίζουμε η ανακαίνιση να πάρει τέλος πριν απο το μνημόσυνο ενός έτους του Πάτερ Mathew Baker το οποίο θα γίνει 28 Φέβρουαριου, Δεύτερον, το άλλο μας άμεσο πρόβλημα που επείγει, ειναι ο θόλος της εκκλησίας. Το χάλκινο επίστρωμα θέλει επιδιόρθωση όπως και τα στρογγυλά μπλε παραθυράκια. Το κόστος εκτιμήθηκε στα άνω των $15,000. Όπως καταλαβενετε, στους επόμενους μήνες θα ζητήσουμε απο την κοινότητα μας, για την οικονομική υποστήριξη ώστε να λάβουν μέρος όλες αυτές οι κατάλληλες επισκευές. Είμαι σίγουρη ότι ενωμενοι ως μια πνευματική οικογένεια, θα καταφέρουμε να ικανοποιήσουμε τις ανάγκες του κτιρίου της εκκλησίας. Τελευταία, θα ήθελα να σας ενημερώσω ότι τον Δεκέμβριο συναντηθήκαμε με τον Μητροπολίτη Μεθόδιο. Μας συνιστά να ολοκληρώσουμε το χτίσιμο του πρεσβυτέριου όσο πιο γρήγορα γίνεται. Αυτό θα μας φέρει στον δρόμο που θα οδηγήσει στο να μας ανατεθεί ο καινούργιος παπάς. Πιστεύω ότι ο Θεός μας κατευθύνει όλους στο να είμαστε πιο ενεργοί στην ενορία μας. Επιπλέον, υπάρχουν τμήματα μας που χρειάζονται εθελοντές. Σας παρακαλώ σκεφτείτε το πως θα θέλατε να συμβάλετε στην ενορία μας φέτος. Ο Θεός να μας ευλογεί όλους, Μαρία Βαλκανος. The religious, moral and social duties of a parishioner are to apply the tenets of the Orthodox Faith to his/ her life and to: adhere to and live according to the tenets of the Orthodox faith; faithfully attend the and other worship services; participate regularly in the holy sacraments; respect all ecclesiastical authority and all governing bodies of the Church; be obedient in matters of the Faith, practice and ecclesiastical order; contribute towards the progress of the Church's sacred mission; and be an effective witness and example of the Orthodox Faith and Traditions to all people. Being a "parishioner in good standing" sacramentaly with the church also requires a responsibility to financially sustain our parish: A parishioner in good standing practices all the religious and moral duties as described above. At a minimum, a parishioner in good standing must: be 18 years of age or over; be current in his or her stewardship and other financial obligations to the Parish, abide by all the regulations herein stated and the Parish Bylaws; and cooperate in every way towards the welfare and well being of the Parish.
