2 INTRDUCTIN CAUTIN This service manual describes the latest technical information for the IC-00 HF/VHF/UHF ALL MDE TRANSCEIVER, at the time of publication. NEVER connect the transceiver to an AC outlet or to a DC power supply that uses more than the specifi ed voltage. This will ruin the transceiver. MDEL IC-00 VERSIN VERSIN NUMBER USA #0 EUR #0 EUR-0 #0 ITR #0 ESP #0 TPE #0 KR #0 CHN #09 FRA # EXP # D NT expose the transceiver to rain, snow or liquids. D NT reverse the polarities of the power supply when connecting the transceiver. D NT apply an RF signal of more than 0 dbm (00 mw) to the antenna connector. This could damage the transceiver s front-end. To upgrade quality, any electrical or mechanical parts and internal circuits are subject to change without notice or obligation. RDERING PARTS REPAIR NTES Be sure to include the following four points when ordering replacement parts:. 0-digit Icom part number. Component name. Equipment model name and unit name. Make sure that the problem is internal before dis-assembling the transceiver.. D NT open the transceiver until the transceiver is disconnected from its power source.. D NT force any of the variable components. Turn them slowly and smoothly.. D NT short any circuits or electronic parts. An insulated tuning tool MUST be used for all adjustments.. D NT keep power N for a long time when the transceiver is defective.. D NT transmit power into a Standard Signal Generator or a Sweep Generator.. ALWAYS connect a 0 db to 0 db attenuator between the transceiver and a Deviation Meter or Spectrum Analyzer, when using such test equipment.. READ the instructions of the test equipment thoroughly before connecting it to the transceiver.
