Receiving Holy Communion - We welcome to this celebration of the Divine Liturgy those Christians who are from other Christian Denominations and who are not fully united with us. Sadly, it is a consequence of the divisions in Christianity that we cannot extend to you an invitation to receive Holy Communion. Orthodox Christians believe that the Eucharist is the work or action of the celebrating community signifying a oneness of faith, life, and worship of the believing community. Reception of Holy Communion by Christians not fully united with us would imply a oneness which does not yet exist, and for which we must pray. However, all present are welcome to partake of the Antidoro (blessed bread) which is distributed at the end of the Liturgy Service.

My mouth shall speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart shall bring forth understanding. Verse: Hear this all you nations. Brethren, it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever. Thanksgiving Food Drive Our parish is again collecting nonperishable food items to donate to families in need, and to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Food Pantry in Brighton. We are asking all parishioners to please bring one or more food items to the Church. The Sunday School students will also be collecting monetary donations each week after Liturgy to purchase additional food items for donation. Our food drive will continue until Sunday, November 20th.
