Σημαντικό επίτευγμα της χρονιάς που πέρασε ήταν η σύναψη Εργασιακής Σύμβασης μεταξύ της Fronditha Care και του Τμήματος Μετανάστευσης και Προστασίας Συνόρων. Η ανάγκη για ελληνόφωνο προσωπικό είναι υψίστης σημασίας και απαραίτητη για την παροχή ποιοτικής και πολιτισμικά κατάλληλης φροντίδας για τους ηλικιωμένους μας, οι οποίοι δεν μπορούν να επικοινωνούν στην Αγγλική γλώσσα. Η Εργασιακή αυτή σύμβαση θα επιτρέψει στη Fronditha Care να προσλάμβάνει 20 ελληνόφωνους εργαζόμενους που θα έχουν πιστοποιηθεί από τοπικό φορέα και θα ομιλούν την Αγγλική σε αρκετά ικανοποιητικό επίπεδο. Το άρτιο εκπαιδευμένο προσωπικό θα παρέχει υπηρεσίες φροντίδας στους τροφίμους μας, σε όλους τους οίκους ευγηρίας αλλά και σε κοινωνικό επίπεδο, με την παροχή υπηρεσιών στα σπίτια των ηλικιωμένων. Εκ μέρους του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου και των Μελών, θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω την Υφυπουργό Μετανάστευσης και Προστασίας Συνόρων, Michaelia Cash MP τη σημαντικότερη αυτή αναγνώριση που θα μας επιτρέπει να παρέχουμε τη φροντίδα που επιθυμούμε στους ηλικιωμένους μας. Το ενδιαφέρον και η αποφασιστική δράση που λάβαμε απο την Υπουργό Michaelia Cash καθώς και η υποστήριξη που έδειξε ο Υφυπουργός Mitch Fifield MP, ήταν κατά την άποψη μας υποδειγματική. Θα ήθελα επίσης να ευχαριστήσω όλους όσου παρευρέθηκαν στο φετινό Επίσημο Χορό της Fronditha Care που διοργανωθήκε για φιλανθρωπικούς σκοπούς. Η επιτυχία της Fronditha Care είναι απόροια της συνεχής οικονομικής υποστήριξης που λαμβάνουμε συνεχώς απο την Ελληνική παροικία, με υποδειγματικές προσπάθειες πολλών ανθρώπων που εθελοντικά εργάζονται για τον οργανισμό μας, ένα ηγετικό παροχέα φροντίδας σε όλη την Αυστραλία. Ο επίσημος Χορός διεξείχθει με μεγάλη επιτυχία και τα κονδύλια που συγκεντρώθηκαν θα χρησιμοποιηθούν προτίστως για την ανάπλαση του ιδρύματός μας στο Clayton. Το δείπνο φιλανθρωπικού χαρακτήρα της Fronditha Care αποτέλεσε πολύ σημαντικό γεγονός για την συγκέντρωση χρημάτων και κάθε προσπάθεια καταβλήθηκε για να μας εξασφαλίσει ενα υπέροχο βράδυ. Θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω ιδιαίτερα τους πολλούς χορηγούς μας, τους ευεργέτες και τους υποστηρικτές μας, οι οποίοι συνέβαλαν στο να στεφθεί η φετεινή εκδήλωση με επιτυχία. Χωρίς αμφιβολία, η εργασία της Fronditha Care αναγνωρίζεται απο την ευρύτερη κοινωνία. Πρέπει όμως να κάνουμε περισσότερα καθώς παρατηρούμε μεγάλη ζήτηση για υπηρεσίες φροντίδας στα χρόνια που θα ακολουθήσουν. Σε συνεργασία με την παροικία, το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο και το προσωπικό της Fronditha Care έχουν ξεκινήσει προς την αντιμετώπιση αυτής της πρόκλησης, επενδύοντας $ 15 εκατομμύρια στην ανοικοδόμηση, ανακαίνιση και παροχή νέων υπηρεσίων φροντίδας στο κοινωνικό σύνολο. Με την έναρξη των εργασιών στις εγκαταστάσεις του Clayton αυτός ο στόχος είναι πλέον επιτεύξιμος αφού θα είμαστε σε θέση να παρέχουμε 150 κλίνες στην συγκεκριμένη περιοχή όπου υπάρχουνπολλοί Έλληνες. Το μεγαλύτερο προσόν της Fronditha Care είναι οι άνθρωποί της, το προσωπικό και οι εθελοντές που εργάζονται με αυτοθυσία και πέρα απο το καθήκον τους για να εξασφαλίσουν άριστες υπηρεσίες στους ηλικιωμένους μας και ένα περιβάλλον που σέβεται την αξιοπρέπειά τους και την κουλτούρα τους. Θα ήθελα να εκφράσω την ευγνωμοσύνη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου προς τις τρεις βοηθητικές επιτροπές συγκέντρωσης χρημάτων για τη συνεχή υποστήριξή τους. Αυτές οι επιτροπές, που βρίσκονται στο Templestowe, στο Thornbury και στο St Albans, μαζί με την Ένωση Ιπποκράτης στο Newcastle για άλλη μία φορά διοργάνωσαν αρκετές εκδηλώσεις φιλανθρωπικού χαρακτήρα καταφέρνοντας να συγκεντρωσουν χρήματα για την υποστηρίξη και υλοποιήση του οράματός μας. Είμαι ευγνώμων για την εξαιρετική δράση του Γενικού Διευθυντή Γεώργιου Λεκάκη και το αφοσιωμένο προσωπικό που με τη συμβολή του έχει διασφαλίσει την πληρότητα των εξωτερικών προτύπων διαπίστευσης. Η αφοσίωση, ο επαγγελματισμός και η προθυμία τους να υιοθετήσουν τις επερχόμενες αλλαγές, οδήγησαν σε μία εξαιρετική χρονιά ορόσημο, επιτυγχάνοντας όλους μας τους στόχους. Θα ήθελα επίσης να αναγνωρίσω τη σκληρή δουλειά και τη γενναιοδωρία των απερχόντων μελών του Συμβουλίου, κο Δημήτριο Κότσιρα και κα Λυδία Γουίλσον (Φιλίππου). Εκ μέρους της Fronditha Care θα ήθελα επίσης να ευχαριστήσω όλα τα μέλη του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου που έχουν επιδείξει ιδιαίτερη δέσμευση και αφοσίωση στο ρόλο τους στις πολυάριθμες πτυχές του οργανισμού. Καλοσωρίζω το νέο Στέλεχος της Fronditha Care, την Δρ Όλγα Κανιτσάκη ΑΜ. Είναι πολύ σημαντικό να κοιτάξουμε και να αναλογιστούμε την επιτυχία αυτής της χρονιάς που μας πέρασε. Παρά τις προκλήσεις και τις συνεχιζόμενες χρηματοοικονομικές δεσμεύσεις, παραμένω αισιόδοξος ότι με την υποστήριξη της παροικίας, τη γενναιοδωρία των χορηγών μας καθώς και με την αφοσίωση του προσωπικού και των εθελοντών μας, θα είμαστε σε θέση να εκπληρώσουμε την αποστολή μας ανταποκρινόμενοι στις διάφορες ανάγκες των ηλικιωμένων μας, τόσο στο παρόν όσο και στο μέλλον. Κατά την διάρκεια των τελευταίων δώδεκα μηνών, το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο και η Διοίκηση της Fronditha Care εργάστηκαν πολύ σκληρά για να διασφαλίσουν την συνεχή επίτευξη των στόχων του οργανισμού και την καλυτέρευση των υπηρεσιών μας. Δεν υπάρχει καλύτερο παράδειγμα αναγνώρισης που η Fronditha Care λαμβάνει απο την Ελληνο Αυστραλιανή παροικία απο αυτό της πρωτοφανής γενναιοδωρίας που είδαμε φέτος με τη δωρεά ρεκόρ ύψους $1,5 εκατομμυρίων για τη δημιουργία ειδικής μονάδας για τους πάσχοντες απο σκλήρυνση κατά πλάκας. Η μονάδα αυτή θα συμπεριληφθεί εντός του υπο ανακατασκευής ιδρύματός στο Clayton, χρηματοδοτούμενη απο τους ευεργέτες μας, τους κο Νίκο και κα Άννα Βουρναζου. Τους ευχαριστούμε θερμά για τη γεναιοδωρία, την υποστήριξη και το όραμά τους. Γιορτάσαμε τα 30 χρόνια λειτουργίας του Ιδρύματος μας στο Clayton. Ο νεοδιορισθής Υφυπουργός Κοινωνικών Υπηρεσιών, Mitch Fifield, παρεβρέθηκε στον εορτασμό αυτόν που απόλαυσαν όλοι οι τρόφιμοι και υποστηρικτές μας. CEO s Report 6 T he year that I am reporting on was by all accounts challenging and full of achievements. My gratitude for Fronditha Care s successful year is extended to all of my staff at all levels. Their contribution to our success was immense and I personally thank each and everyone of them. We embarked on this year having to fulfil our strategic goals and continue to provide care and support to our elderly. Our major goals included that we required completing and commissioning the Anesi Thornbury aged care residential facility from the current 30 bed to 120 bed licenses. The total cost of the project was estimated at $15,945,590. We also needed to complete the planning and commence the rebuilding of the Steyi unit and refurbish Pronia and Galini units at our Clayton facility. This major project will increase the current 103 bed capacity of the Clayton facility to 150 bed licenses. Both of these major goals were achieved in the reporting period. In terms of our strategic priorities, I can report that we continued to excel in the provision of resident and client focused culturally appropriate quality care services. Accreditation was achieved across all sites & community programs. We continued to lead in ethno-specific and multi-cultural care. We experienced full occupancy across all our residential facilities and managed extensive waiting lists. In the period under review we also embarked on a robust continuous quality improvement process and actions and reviewed and refined a vast array of policies and procedures. In the period under review we also continued to lead as an employer of first choice and supported staff to lead in the provision of quality professional care. In the period we conducted two staff surveys in 2012 and 2013; we noted increases in staff job satisfaction and alignment with the Fronditha Care values & mission and experienced a low 8% turnover. We continued with Human Resources engagement & significant development across all staffing sectors. In the year we employed 538 full-time/part-time staff. We also negotiated a successful EBA and in the process of establishing ECA with relevant unions. We conducted an extensive training program (82 training courses) for all staff and implemented a leadership training course to identify future leaders at Fronditha Care. We also encouraged and procured partnerships with the community that promoted support and quality care for our elderly. As a consequence we enjoyed extensive relationships and collaborations within the aged and multi-cultural services sector and continued to partner with brokerage agencies. We received support from many service clubs and community groups and set record setting fundraising events including this year s annual Gala fundraising dinner. Our management team also continued to build a sustainable future for Fronditha Care, for its clients, for its services, its finances and physical resources and the rejuvenated our IT systems with total cost to date of $200K in the last 3 years and our net asset value is set out $54M. We also prepared our systems and procedures to align with the implementation of the Living Longer Living Better reforms and I can report we were ready on 1 July 2014 to implement the long list of reforms. In February 2014 we also announced our new Website, http://www.frondithacare.org and I encourage all to visit this new exciting and informative medium. By all accounts it was a great year. In conclusion I want to thank all of our volunteers who support our programs across Fronditha Care, they are indeed wonderful and I sincerely thank them also for their contributions. We continued to lead in ethno-speciic and multi-cultural care. following was undertaken. We have robust transparent financial systems and policies in place and our financial modelling was established projecting Seven Years of growth into the future. We also achieved a 6 and 12 monthly scheduled auditing of financial accounts and managed our loan repayments and investments. I can happily report that we met all budget targets and our income has exceeded set targets. We continued with our prudential bond management and liquidity policies and carried out major capitol and small infrastructure significant refurbishments which have been projected to $26M over the next 7 years. We have I wish to conclude by thanking my industrious and committed executive team and all our fantastic staff in our residential and community care programs. Finally I wish to thank the Board of Directors and Members of Fronditha Care for their dedication and services to the organisation. I look forward to working with everybody in the year ahead. Κατά την περίοδο αναφοράς συνεχίσαμε επίσης να ηγούμαστε ως εργοδότης πρώτης επιλογής και να υποστηρίζουμε το προσωπικό μας για την παροχή επαγγελματικής και ποιοτικής φροντίδας. Διεξαγάγαμε έρευνες για την ικανοποίηση του προσωπικού, το 2012 και 2013, όπου διαφάνηκε βελτίωση στο δείκτη ικανοποίησης ως προς την φύση της εργασίας καθώς και εναρμόνιση με τις αξίες και την αποστολή της Fronditha Care με 8% δείκτη κίνησης του προσωπικού. Συνεχίσαμε με δεσμεύσεις και σημαντικές εξελίξεις απο το τμήμα Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού σε όλους τους τομείς στελέχωσης. Αυτο το έτος απασχολήσαμε 538 άτομα πλήρους και μερικής απασχόλησης. Επιπροσθέτως, διαπραγματευτήκαμε με επιτυχία μία νέα Συλλογική Σύμβαση EBA και έιμαστε στη διαδικασία εφαρμογής νέας ECA με τις σχετικές συνδικαλιστικές οργανώσεις. Διεξαγάγαμε ένα εκτεταμένο πρόγραμμα εκπαίδευσης για όλο το προσωπικό και πραγματοποιήσαμε εκπαιδευτικό σεμινάριο ηγεσίας για να προσδιορίσουμε τους μελλοντικούς ηγέτες της Fronditha Care. Επίσης ενθαρύναμε και κατοχυρώσαμε συνεργασίες με την κοινότητα που προώθησε υποστήριξη και ποιοτική φροντίδα στους ηλικιωμένους μας. Κατά συνέπεια εδραιώσαμε εκτεταμένες σχέσεις και συνεργασίες τόσο στο τομέα της πολυπολιτισμική παροχής υπηρεσιών όσο και στην φροντίδα ηλικιωμένων καθώς επίσης συνάψαμε συμφωνίες με διάφορες χρηματιστηριακές υπηρεσίες. Λάβαμε υποστήριξη απο διάφορα σωματεία και κοινωνικές ομάδες και θέσαμε στόχους για διάφορες φιλανθρωπικές οργανώσεις συμπεριλαμβανομένου τον ετήσιο χορό για την ανάληψη χρημάτων. Η διοικητική ομάδα συνέχισε σταθερά το χτίσιμο ενός σταθερού μέλλοντος για τη Fronditha Care, για τους πελάτες της, της υπηρεσίες της, τα χρηματοοικονομικά της και τους φυσικούς της πόρους και διεξήχθηκαν τα ακόλουθα. Έχουμε εγκαταστήσει ισχυρά και με διαφάνεια χρηματοοικονομικά συστήματα και το οικονομικό μοντέλο που καθιερώσαμε προβάλει Εφτά Χρόνια ανάπτυξης στο μέλλον. Επιτύχαμε δύο ελέγχους, έναν στους έξι και ακόμη έναν στους δώδεκα μήνες, των χρηματοοικονομικών μας καταστάσεων και διαχειριστήκαμε επιτυχώς τις αποπληρωμές των δανείων μας και τις διάφορες επενδύσεις μας. Είμαι στην ευχάριστη θέση να αναφέρω ότι πετύχαμε όλους τους στόχους για το προϋπολογισμό και ότι το εισόδημά μας υπερέβει τους καθορισμένους στόχους. Συνεχίσαμε με την προληπτική εποπτεία και διαχείριση των εγγυήσεων και των πολιτικών ρευστότητας. Επίσης πραγματοποιήσαμε τόσο μικρές όσο και μεγάλες υποδομές και σημαντικές ανακαινίσεις που προβλέπεται ότι θα φτάσουν τα 26 εκατομμύρια δολάρια στα επόμενα 7 χρόνια. Ανανεώσαμε τα πληροφοριακά μας συστήματα με συνολικό κόστος μέχρι σήμερα τα 200 χιλιάδες δολάρια τα τελευταία τρία χρόνια και η καθαρή αξία του ενεργητικού μας ανέρχεται στα 54 εκατομμύρια δολάρια. Προετοιμάσαμε τα συστήματά μας και τις διάφορες διαδικασίες μας ούτως ώστε να συμπίπτουν με τις μεταρρυθμίσεις που ακολούθησαν από το Living Longer Living Better και απο την 1η Ιουλίου ήμασταν έτοιμοι να αντιμετωπίσουμε και να εφαρμόσουμε αυτές τις αλλαγές. Το Φεβρουάριο του 2014 ανακοινώσαμε τη νέα μας ιστοσελίδα http://www. frondithacare.org και προσκαλώ όλους να επισκεφθούν το νέο ενημερωτικό μας μέσο. Αδιαμφισβήτητα, ήταν μία εξαιρετική χρονά. Εν κατακλείδι, θα ήθελα να ευχαριστήσω όλους τους εθελοντές μας που υποστηρίζουν τα προγράμματά της Fronditha Care κατά το σύνολό τους. Ξεκινήσαμε αυτό το χρόνο με σκοπό την επίτευξη των στρατηγικών μας στόχων και την συνεχή παροχή φροντίδας και υποστήριξης στους ηλικιωμένους μας. Στους κύριους στόχους μας περιλαμβάνονταν η ολοκλήρωση και η έναρξη του ιδρύματος για την φροντίδα ηλικιωμένων, «Άνεση» στο Thornbury φτάνοντας απο τις 30 στις 120 άδειες κλινών. Το συνολικό κόστος του έργου υπολογίζονταν στα $15,945,590. Έπρεπε επίσης να ολοκληρώσουμε το σχεδιασμό και την έναρξη των εργασιών για την ανοικοδόμηση του κτιρίου «Στέγη» και την ανακαίνιση των κτιρίων «Πρόνοια» και «Γαλήνη» του ιδρύματός μας στο Clayton. Με την ολοκήρωση αυτού του σημαντικού έργου θα αυξηθεί η δυναμικότητα του ιδρύματος αυτού, από τις 103 κλίνες στις 150 άδειες κλινών. Και οι δύο αυτοί μεγάλοι στόχοι πραγματοποιήθηκαν στην αναφερόμενη περίοδο. Όσον αφορά τις στρατηγικές μας προτεραιότητες, αναφέρω ότι συνεχίζουμε να υπερέχουμε στην παροχή ποιοτικών υπηρεσίων φροντίδας, προσαρμοσμένες στις ανάγκες και στην κουλτούρα των τροφίμων μας. Highlights 9 O residential facility. This cluster will be developed in a dedicated section of the new building. In order to care for persons with MS, the donation made by. and s. Vournazos will allow Fronditha Care to build excellent residential amenities and purchase barometric chairs, specialised shower chairs, lifting machines, ergonomic beds that separate and increase nursing care options for persons with MS, as well as special air-mattresses. Fronditha Care will also develop age appropriate lifestyle activities which will assist in our care of the Greek persons with MS for this cluster of residents in the future. Residents with MS who will be offered services by Fronditha Care will be persons who are assessed and have an aged care client record (ACCR). Greek persons with MS and who have this assessment will not be restricted by age and can be cared for by Fronditha Care. Nick and s. Anna Vournazos towards the building of the new residential wing at 94 Springs Road, Clayton South. This generous contribution is a record amount in the 37 year history of Fronditha Care. Highlights 10 Fronditha Care Opens New Memory Support Unit at the Anesi hornbury Aged Care Residential Facility T he Fronditha Care 30 bed Memory Support Unit (MSU) at the Anesi Aged Care Centre was officially opened on Saturday 14 June 2014 by Senator the Hon Mitch Fifield, Assistant Minister for Social Services. Other guests included the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, Haris Dafaranos and the Hon David Davis, the Victorian Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Jenny Mikakos, the Victorian Shadow Minister for Seniors and Ageing. The new 30 bed MSU has complemented the recently commissioned 90 bed Anesi residential facility into a 120 bed aged care centre inclusive of a new Memory Support Unit which will care for thirty persons with severe dementia. At the opening the President, Mike Zafiropoulos, AM JP referred to Fronditha Care s Board of Directors decision to invest $1.5 million to create a new MSU by refurbishing our original facility in Thornbury which will serve the community into the future. He expressed his thanks to the community for its ongoing support of this development. George Lekakis, CEO of Fronditha Care, stated at the opening that Fronditha Care has responded to the needs of Greek persons with dementia in the Northern Metropolitan Region. He stated that Fronditha Care has made a large investment to redevelop and refurbish our existing nursing home facility into a new unit to care for persons with severe demntia in the community. The new residential MSU is modern and comfortable with individual well appointed rooms and ensuites with every amenity. The new facility will cater for high care frail elderly with dementia with person centred culturally appropriate care programs.

Highlights Fronditha Care Auxiliary Groups Templestowe, hornbury and St Albans raise much needed funds for the organisation T he Fronditha Care Templestowe, Thornbury and the newly established St Albans Auxiliaries generated significant fundraising activity in the period under review. The total combined amount raised by our Auxiliaries was $90,500. We appreciate their fundraising efforts and support of Fronditha Care. Christmas luncheon at the St Haralambos Hall in Templestowe 21 November 2013. On 1 June 2014 the auxiliary also organised a Fun Day Lunch at the Farm in Bulla. Highlights 13 St Albans Auxiliary T he new St Albans auxiliary commenced in October 2013 and immediately engaged to organise several fundraising events throughout the year. Led by s Mary Calombaris several successful events were organised enabling the purchase of much needed items at the St Albans Thalpori aged care facility. The first event was the Carnivale event hosted at the Hellenic Republic restaurant in Kew and the second event was the Pappou and Yiayia event at Stars International on 22 June 2014. Highlights 16 Assistant Minister Michaelia Cash announced irst labour agreement with Fronditha Care T he Fronditha Care Labour Agreement proposal sought to secure 20 qualified Certificate III in Aged Care Greek speaking personnel annually. Following a previous visit to Fronditha Care by Minister Michaelia Cash on 4 June 2014 the Labour Agreement was discussed and negotiated. The labour agreement was approved by the Minister and signed by Fronditha Care and an announcement to the media and the community was made by Minister Michaelia Cash at the Anesi facility in Thornbury on Friday 1 August 2014 at 10.30a.m. The President of Fronditha Care, Mike Zafiropoulos, AM JP at the media conference thanked the Minister Michaelia Cash for her personal interest and direct intervention which enabled Fronditha Care to establish a Labour Agreement with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. He stated that the labour agreement will allow Fronditha Care to recruit locally qualified, Greek speaking personal care workers with proficiency in the English language to provide nursing care to Fronditha Care s residents across all of our five residential facilities and across our community services which support older people in their homes. The need to recruit Greek speaking staff is essential in our provision of quality, culturally appropriate care for our elders who can only communicate in the Greek language. M. Zafiropoulos stated that by enabling Fronditha Care to hire Greek speaking staff who have an understanding of the Greek culture and language will assist us to provide quality care for our elders and generate an appropriate lifestyle for them into the future.

Fronditha Care establishes Labour Agreement 17

Highlights Major Building Works & Refurbishment Program 18 Major building works have commenced for the New Clayton Aged Care residential facility F ollowing an exhaustive tender process, Fronditha Care announced that the successful builders D&A Pulitano Constructions would be engaged to undertake the rebuilding of the Clayton Aged Care residential facility. The demolition works and the rebuilding of the Steyi wing of the Clayton residential aged care facility commenced in earnest in January 2014. The building works for the first stage are anticipated to be completed by December 2015. The second stage which includes the refurbishment of Pronia and Galini wings will commence after the first stage is completed. It is anticipated that the entire building project will be completed in December 2016.

Highlights 19 O n 4 May 2014 the Hippocrates Australian Greek Aged Persons Association in Newcastle hosted a Paniyiri in the adjoining Mayfield West Primary School grounds. The festival atmosphere attracted a large local crowd and eight busloads of supporters from Sydney who also attended and enjoyed the festivities. Many local dignitaries attended the Paniyiri festival and on the occasion of the six year commemoration of the laying of the foundation stone for the building of the nursing home, another foundation stone was blessed by father Nicholas Zervas to commemorate the building of the ikonostasi.
