College of Environment and Plant ProtectionHainan UniversityDanzhou China Abstract The morphology of sensilla on the antennae of Tetrastichus brontispae Ferrière adult were observed under a scanning electron microscope. Eight distinct types of sensory receptors were foundincluding sensilla trichodeasensilla multiporous platesensilla chaeticasensilla basiconicasensilla auricillicasensilla mammilliformiasensilla coeloconica and b hm bristlesof which sensillum trichodeum and sensillum placodeum were both the most numerous and widely distributed. Sexual dimorphism in antenna size and the shapesizenumber and distribution of sensillawas apparent.
