3 Epistle - St. Paul's Letter to Titus 3:8-15 TITUS, my son, the saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned. When I send Artemas or Tychicos to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. Do your best to speed Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way; see that they lack nothing. And let our people learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not to be unfruitful. All who are with me send greeting to you. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." The Orthodox Church is not in sacramental communion with any other church outside the Orthodox Christian Faith. 7 SAVE THE DATE!!! St. Nicholas Vacation Church Camp August 3-7 Registration is now open! Camp St. Nicholas is for all children from 2 years old to those entering 5th grade in the Fall, and children from all over the Austin area are welcome to attend! Camp runs from Monday, August 3 - Friday, August 7, from 9am - 12pm at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 414 St. Stephens School Road, every day. On Saturday, August 8, we hope you'll join us for a Family Field Trip to Holy Archangel's Monastery in Kendalia, Texas HOPE/JOY Pool Party Saturday, August 1, 10am 12pm Hope/Joy invites all Pre-schoolers thru 5th grade (entering 5th grade) to a pool party at the Parkside at Mayfield Ranch Amenity Center at: 325 Parkside Pkwy., Georgetown Feel free to bring a snack to share and your own drinks. Arabian Nights at St. Elias to benefit IOCC has been rescheduled for sometime in September Arabian Nights is coming back to St. Elias but it had to be rescheduled for September. The exact date will be announced later. Once again we will have the opportunity to help IOCC help the less fortunate around the globe. Live music, DJ, mezzes, and chilling under the stars, Arabian style! The cost will be $40, which includes mezzes and drink. Highschoolers Outing August 9, 2015 Highschool Boys: Breakfast with Michael Highschool Girls: Coffee with Mary Right after Liturgy, the boys can enjoy some boy time under the guidance of Michael Mankarious and the girls some girl time again with Mary Long. Everyone will be back by the end of coffee hour. The Retreat at Balcones Springs September 18 - September 20 A Parish wide retreat! Our first Parish wide camp for all members, where we can all relax and put behind us our everyday troubles and worries while we grow our faith and understanding of Orthodoxy.
