2 ANNOUNCEMENTS The Philoptochos of St. Haralambos invites you to join us at our Coffee Fellowship Hour after church services. PROSPHORA We thank, Mrs. Pitsa Lamprinakos and Ms. Eugenia Bliamblias (Sunday, July 3), who have offered today s prosphora. Next week, the prosphora will be offered by Mrs. Lily Kretsos and Mrs. Dina Margaritis (Sunday, July 10). MEMORIAL SERVICES 1 year James Farmakis Memorial services are offered for the eternal rest of persons who have fallen asleep in the Lord. There are some days when Memorials are not permitted please call the church office before planning. Memorials take place at 40 days, at 6 months, at 1 year and at 3 years. After three years have passed, the departed are more properly remembered on the Saturdays of the Souls. Please also remember that we have discontinued the custom of placing candles in the kolyva. WHO CAN RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION? Because receiving Holy Communion or any other Sacrament is an expression of our acceptance of the dogmatic and moral teachings of the Orthodox Faith, only Orthodox Christians (by baptism or chrismation) in good standing may participate. For this reason, persons who do not agree with these teachings, or not in good standing (for example, married outside the church, or unmarried but sexually active, or civilly divorced but not ecclesiastically divorced), must return to good standing in order to participate in Orthodox Sacraments such as Holy Communion and Unction. This is also the reason that Orthodox Christians do not receive sacraments in non-orthodox churches. HAVE YOU LOOKED OVER OUR DONATION BOARD IN THE COMMUNI- TY CENTER? Wear Greek costume, school uniforms or other comfortable clothing. There will be activities and games for children at Grennan Heights Park (8255 Oketo in Niles) after the parade until 2 pm. DONATIONS Have you seen our Donation Board? One of the greatest ways to make our Fest successful is through donations! We still need lamb donations, and any monetary donations are always welcomed. VOLUNTEER TO HELP: We need help to set up on Thursday, July 14. We need help to work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We need help for the Great Day-After Clean-up on Monday! SWEET AND KIND: Please understand that chewing gum in church is considered to be very discourteous and even vulgar. Your attention to this is greatly appreciated. Be considerate! Please remove lipstick when reverencing the holy icons or receiving Holy Communion. Please teach your children that it is not proper to play video games, eat snacks, chew gum or cross their legs in church. Please be careful when you receive Holy Communion that you do not bump the Holy Chalice and cause it to spill!

5 Epistle and Gospel Readings for Today EPISTLE READING Romans 2:10-16 Brethren, glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. For God shows no partiality. All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus. GOSPEL READING Matthew 4:18-23 At that time, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 7 Ανακοινώσεις ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΦΕΣΤΙΒΑΛ ΤΟΥ Το Φεστιβάλ της Κοινότητάς μας για το 2016 θα λάβει χώραν εις τις Ιουλίου, και οι ετοιμασίες άρχισαν. Xρειαζόμεθα την βοήθειά σας! 1. ΔΩΡΕΕΣ δια αvαψυκτικά, πoτά, και χρηματικές! 2. ΕΘΕΛOΝΤΕΣ δια vα βoηθήσoυv τις ημέρες τoυ Φεστιβάλ, Παρασκευή, Σάββατo και Κυριακή. 3. ΕΘΕΛΟΝΤΕΣ δια την ημέρα μετά το Φεστιβαλ.
