1 LIST OF EONIAN 1. In this particular word study, we are concerned with the English word EONIAN, Strong s number 166. EONIAN is the adjective of the English noun EON. 2. MS refers to the oldest manuscripts we have today from about 300 AD in the original languages, Koine Greek font. 3. There are three entries here for each of the 72 verses. a. First is the popular King James Version, 1611 AD. b. Second is a concordant literal derived from the MS. c. Third is the Greek text, in modern Greek font, from the Textus Receptus; 1516 AD. Jerome s Latin Vulgate, from which it came, was created no earlier than 382 AD. 4. There are several verses where the adjective EONIAN is missing in both the King James Version as well as the Textus Receptus. 5. To be consistent, in the King James Version, verses Rom 16:25, 2 Tim 1:9, and Titu 1:2, where the word WORLD is, it should be translated ETERNAL instead of WORLD which would be absurd; absurd but at least consistent as the Bible is always consistent and does not have any contradictions in the Autographs. (see listings 39, 51, and 53 below) 6. Where the adjectives everlasting or eternal appear in this list, as well as the adverbial phrase for ever, Strong s number is 166 for those occurrences. 1. Matt 18:8 (KJS) Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast [them] from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

Luke 18:30 who may not by all means be getting back manyfold in this era, and in the coming eon, life eonian." 30 ος ου µη απολαβη πολλαπλασιονα εν τω καιρω τουτω και εν τω αιωνι τω ερχοµενω ζωην αιωνιον NOTE: In this verse we have both the noun EON, 165, and the adjective EONIAN, John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15 that everyone believing on Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian. 15 ινα πας ο πιστευων εις αυτον µη αποληται αλλ εχη ζωην αιωνι ον For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 16 For thus God loves the world, so that He gives His only-begotten Son, that everyone who is believing in Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian.

John 6:53 Jesus, then, said to them, "Verily, verily, I am saying to you, If you should not be eating the flesh of the Son of Mankind and drinking His blood, you have no eonian life in yourselves. 53 ειπεν ουν αυτοις ο ιησους αµην αµην λεγω υµιν εαν µη φαγητε τη ν σαρκα του υιου του ανθρωπου και πιητε αυτου το αιµα ουκ εχετε ζ ωην εν εαυτοις 24. John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. John 12:25 He who is fond of his soul is destroying it, and he who is hating his soul in this world, shall be guarding it for life eonian. 25 ο φιλων την ψυχην αυτου απολεσει αυτην και ο µισων την ψυχην αυτου εν τω κοσµω τουτω εις ζωην αιωνιον φυλαξει αυτην 29. NOTE: Isn t this speaking of the SPECIAL salvation of the elect cited in 1 Tim 4:9-11; the immortal EONIAN life, the life of the ages? (specially not exclusively)

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. 14 NOTE: For better English understanding, read the eonian God as the God of the ages. This verse has nothing to do with the duration of God s existence. 24 One more thing while we are here: Listed above are all the occurrences of the adjective EONIAN (in the New Testament) which come from its noun EON or AGE. When we look in the concordance we find that many times the King James Version translates the noun EON or AGE into the noun WORLD. One such place is 2 Corinthians 4:4: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. Who is the god of this world anyway? Well, the god of this world is, of course, Satan. The word WORLD here is actually the word EON or AGE, Strong s number 165. If Strong s number 165 meant eternity then then Satan would be the god of eternity. We know that Satan s activities come to an end when he is thrown into the lake of fire which means Satan could not be the god of eternity but of a finite period of time only. It follows, then, that EON or AGE or Strong s number 165 must be a time duration entity that has a beginning and an ending, a finite period of time. The adjective EONIAN or Strong s number 166 must, then, also pertain to a finite period of time so can not be eternal or everlasting. In this verse we also learn that God does blind the minds of men by the use of Satan and we learn that Christ is the IMAGE of His God and His Father. 5/2/2011 9:05 PM The Meaning of Eon
