ΚΥΡΙΑΚΗ ΤΟΥ ΖΑΚΧΑΙΟΥ Η συνάντηση του Ιησού Χριστού µε τον αρχιτελώνη Ζακχαίο είναι µια θαυµάσια περικοπή, που χαρίζει στις καρδιές µας αισιοδοξία, θάρρος και βεβαιότητα για την ψυχική µας σωτηρία. Μας δείχνει το δρόµο, που µπορεί ο άνθρωπος να ακολουθήσει γα να συναντηθεί µε τον Κύριο και να επικοινωνήσω µαζί του. Είναι ο αληθινός δρόµος της µετάνοιας, που πρέπει να είναι έµπρακτη, όπως εκείνη του αρχιτελώνη Ζακχαίου. Ο Ζακχαίος ήταν αρχιτελώνης και πολύ πλούσιος. Και τα δυο αυτά τον είχαν αποµακρύνει από το Θεό και τον είχαν κάνε άδικο και αµαρτωλό. Οι τελώνες αγόραζαν µε ένα ορισµένο ποσό τους φόρους. Τα χρήµατα που ξεπερνούσαν αυτό το ποσό, το κρατούσαν για τον εαυτό τους. Οι τελώνες ήταν πιεστικοί στο µάζεµα των φόρων και γιʹ αυτό ήταν αντιπαθητικοί και µισητοί από τον κόσµο. Είχε καταντήσει η λέξη «τελώνης» να σηµαίνει «µεγάλος αµαρτωλός». Ο Ζακχαίος ζητούσε επίµονα να δει τον Κύριο. Ανέβηκε στη συκοµουριά επειδή ήταν κοντός για να δει το Χριστό, που θα περνούσε από εκεί µπροστά. Δε φοβήθηκε να µη γελάσουν οι άλλοι µαζί του, ούτε λογάριαζε το µεγάλο αξίωµα που είχε στην κοινωνία. Αυτός ήθελε να γνωρίσει το Χριστό. Ξεπερνούσε όλα τα εµπόδια και τις δυσκολίες. Μακάρι και ο σηµερινός χριστιανός να ακολουθούσε το παράδειγµα του Ζακχαίου. Ο άνθρωπος σήµερα δεν ντρέπεται, όταν διαπράττει την αµαρτία, αλλά δείχνει δειλία, όταν πρόκειται να µετανοήσει. Πολλοί ακόµα ντρέπονται και αυτό το σταυρό τους να κάνουν. Για να µετανοήσει ο άνθρωπος ειλικρινά, όπως ο Ζακχαίος, πρέπει πρώτα - πρώτα να νικήσει τις δυσκολίες και τις ειρωνείες του κόσµου. Πόσα παιδιά δε λιγοψυχούν από τις κρίσεις και τα πειράγµατα των συµµαθητών τους; Εδώ πρέπει το παιδί να οπλιστεί µε το θάρρος και τη δύναµη του Ζακχαίου και να ζητήσει τη βοήθεια του Χριστού. Τότε και ο Κύριος θα ζητήσει και από µας να τον φιλοξενήσουµε στον «οίκο της ψυχής µας». Αυτό γίνεται, όταν µας καλεί να κοινωνήσουµε στο µυστήριο της Θείας Ευχαριστίας. Είναι η πιο µεγάλη στιγµή στη ζωή του ανθρώπου. Παίρνουµε µέσα µας τη ζωή του Κυρίου και έτσι κερδίζουµε τη σωτηρία µας, δηλαδή τον Παράδεισο. Όταν αρχίσουµε και φιλοξενούµε το Θεό µέσα µας, τότε συµφιλιωνόµαστε και µε τους άλλους ανθρώπους. Το ίδιο έκανε και ο Ζακχαίος. Προχώρησε στο δεύτερο βήµα για τη σωτηρία του. Πούλησε τη µισή περιουσία του και τη µοίρασε στους φτωχούς. Επίσης όσους αδίκησε ή έκλεψε θα τους επιστρέψει τέσσερις φορές περισσότερα χρήµατα. Την αγάπη που του χάρισε ο Χριστός, την προσφέρει τώρα στους άλλους ανθρώπους. Αυτή η αγάπη χάρισε στο Ζακχαίο τη σωτηρία του. Τώρα ο Ζακχαίος µε πίστη, την αγάπη και τη µετάνοια µεταµορφώθηκε από αµαρτωλός και έγινε το υπόδειγµα του σωσµένου ανθρώπου για υπόλοιπο κόσµο.
