Andrew the First- Called Apostle Andrew the First- Called Apostle November 30 This Saint was from Bethsaida of Galilee; he was the son of Jonas and the brother of Peter, the chief of the Apostles. He had first been a disciple of John the Baptist; afterwards, on hearing the Baptist's witness concerning Jesus, when he pointed Him out with his finger and said, "Behold the Lamb of God, Which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1.29,36), he straightway followed Christ, and became His first disciple; wherefore he is called the Firstcalled of the Apostles. After the Ascension of the Saviour, he preached in various lands; and having suffered many things for His Name's sake, he died in Patras of Achaia, where he was crucified on a cross in the shape of an "X," the first letter of "Christ" in Greek; this cross is also the symbol of Saint Andrew. Apolytikion As first of the Apostles to be called, O Andrew, brother of him (Peter) who was foremost, beseech the Master of all to grant the world peace and our souls great mercy. Philoptochos - Pajama Drive Please help the Greek Ladies Philoptochos for the third year provide new cozy pajamas to children in need in Ottawa and the Greater Ottawa Valley. These families face difficult challenges such as poverty, addiction, domestic violence and mental health issues. Through the Pajama Drive, you are contributing to a warmer, more loving bedtime. The pajamas are to be new and unused, a complete set for ages 3 months to 12 years old. I dreamed I had an INTERVIEW WITH GOD. An Interview With God "So, you would like to interview me?" GOD asked. "If you have time," I said. GOD smile. "My time is eternity... what questions do you have in mind for me?" "What surprises you the most about humankind?" GOD answered... "That they get bored with childhood, that they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again." "That they lose their health to make money... and then lose their money to restore their health." Ο ΘΕΟΣ χαμογέλασε. "Ο χρόνος μου είναι η αιωνιότητα... τι ερωτήσεις θα ήθελες να μου κάνεις;" "Τι σε εκπλήσσει περισσότερο στον άνθρωπο;" Ο ΘΕΟΣ απάντησε... "Το ότι οι άνθρωποι βαριούνται την παιδική τους ηλικία, βιάζονται να μεγαλώσουν και ύστερα θέλουν να ξαναγίνουν παιδιά". "Το ότι χάνουν την υγεία τους για να αποκτήσουν χρήματα... κι ύστερα, χάνουν τα χρήματά τους για να αποκατασταθεί η υγεία τους".
