John 20:21-22 Christ on the Mountain is a Catholic community of the faithful where the faith is lived and passed on; the sacraments are celebrated; the Gospel is preached; works of social justice are performed; and the faithful are educated. The parish is, pre-eminently, the means of assuring the faithful, through the sacraments, and especially the Eucharist, are spiritually nourished and saved. We ll meet from 6:30 9:00 p.m. to allow time to watch and discuss the movie. STEUBENVILLE OF THE ROCKIES 2018 High School Conference A parent and participant meeting will be held on Wed. June 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Joe Downs Memorial Hall. Youth Group meets on Wednesday nights in the Joe Downs Memorial Hall from 7:00 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Babysitters Attention High School Seniors On SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd, at 10:15 a.m. Christ on the Mountain will commemorate your graduation with a special Mass. This is our way of honoring you and the many ways you have touched our church community. Following Mass there will be a luncheon for you, your families and friends. Please RSVP to Mary Ann by May 23 to let us know if you will be attending and how many guests you will be bringing with you. On June 3rd we will have pews reserved so please sit there with your guests. Following the homily you will receive a blessing. This is truly a special time for you and your family and your church community is excited to be a part of it. Congratulations! The Nursery will be closed during the summer months. 5 My friend has never heard of Christ and I want to share the Gospel with her but I'm afraid to. How do I share my faith? VBS SAVE THE DATE! Splash Vacation Bible School will take place July 23rd July 27th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon each day. Registration will open on May 30th in the parish office. We will also have registration in the foyer after all Masses on June 2nd and 3rd. Growing With Jesus Are you worried about anything these days? Do you fear something might not turn out the way you d like it to? Are you anxious? If so, God has good news for you. He d like to take those worries off your mind and place them on his shoulders. You can do this with a simple prayer. Tell God what s on your mind. He has promised to listen and to care. You may want to talk to a Christian friend about things, too. Then both of you can pray about it together. Today: Worrying wears you down. God wants to lift you up. Tell God what s on your mind today. 1 Peter 5:7 There are a lot of ways to bring up the topic of religion, without being judgmental or pushy. Begin by asking what her thoughts are about religion, or what her experience was growing up. Finding common ground is often easier than you think, because the questions and problems we have about God, the presence of evil, our purpose in life, and our relationship with God are universal concerns. Why are you afraid? If you do not want to insult or offend someone, don't be pushy or judgmental. If you are uncertain about how to explain your own faith, do a little reading or practice with a friend. If you measure success only by this person converting, focus your attention more on beginning the conversation, not on bringing it to a perfect close! Faith is a journey of many acts of belief, many discussions about God, and many choices about how we practice what we preach. In some we will have great success; in others we will need forgiveness and perseverance. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the Holy Spirit is always at work and our most humble efforts can bear great fruit. Have faith in God because he has faith in you!
