At the central section (4) you can see the photo of the lot, its number and description and its starting price. Below, there is the countdown timer (5). Every lot will be live for 10 seconds and when there is a new bid it will be updated for another 5 seconds. The timer turns red when the time is ready to expire. Under the timer you can see the current highest bid (6) and if you are winning the lot (7). At the field (8) it will automatically appears the next minimum bid required or you can fill it in with your offer (No underbids allowed). In order to place your bid all you have to do is just to click on the Place Bid button (9). Finally, you can view the log of the auction for the current lot at the section below (10). A. 12 ΟΡΟΙ ΔΗΜΟΠΡΑΣΙΩΝ Όλοι οι λαχνοί περιγράφονται προσεκτικά και πωλούνται ως γνήσιοι και αυθεντικοί εκτός αν περιγράφονται άλλως. Ο αγοραστής μπορεί να απορρίψει το λαχνό και να τον επιστρέψει εντός 7 ημερών (ημερομηνία σφραγίδας ταχυδρομείου) απο την λήξη της δημοπρασίας, αν αποδείξει ότι δεν είναι γνήσιος ή ότι περιγράφηκε λανθασμένα. Οι λαχνοί πρέπει να επιστρέφονται όπως παραλήφθηκαν αρχικά, χωρίς καμμία διαφοροποίηση. Λαχνοί που εξετάσθηκαν προηγουμένως από τους υποψηφίους αγοραστές δεν επιστρέφονται. Επίσης δεν επιστρέφονται λαχνοί που αγοράσθηκαν στην Αίθουσα μετά την έξοδο των αγοραστών από αυτή. Οι αγοραστές δεν έχουν το δικαίωμα επιστροφής μικτών λαχνών, συλλογών, λαχνών που έχουν ελαττώματα σε μικροαξίες, καθώς και φωτογραφημένων στον κατάλογο λαχνών, για ελαττώματα ορατά στη φωτογραφία (κεντράρισμα, περιθώρια, οδόνττωση). Όταν η αξία του λαχνού είναι στη σφραγίδα και όχι στο γραμματόσημο, ο λαχνός δεν μπορεί να επιστραφεί για ελάττωμα του γραμματοσήμου. Κάθε λαχνός περιέρχεται στον πλειοδότη, που προσφέρει την υψηλότερη τιμή. Σε περίπτωση ίσων ταχυδρομικών προσφορών, πλειοδότης θεωρείται αυτός που η προσφορά του έφθασε πρώτη στα Γραφεία μας. Τηλεφωνικές εντολές αγοράς γίνονται δεκτές από γνωστούς πελάτες, πρέπει όμως να επικυρωθούν γραπτώς. Πριν από την έναρξη της πωλήσεως ή την ημέρα της δημοπρασίας (για γραπτές προσφορές), η Εταιρία έχει το δικαίωμα να αποσύρει λαχνούς, να διαχωρίσει λαχνούς σε δύο ή περισσότερα μέρη ή να συνενώσει δύο ή περισσότερους λαχνούς. Μεγάλοι λαχνοί μπορεί να μην μεταφερθούν για viewing στην Αθήνα ή να μεταφερθούν κατ επιλογή. Viewing λαχνών, που δεν μεταφέρονται στην Αθήνα, μπορεί να γίνει στα γραφεία στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Προσφορές γίνονται δεκτές έως 2 ώρες πριν από την έναρξη της δημοπρασίας. Η πληρωμή πρέπει να γίνεται αμέσως μετά το τέλος της δημοπρασίας στην Αίθουσα ή εντός 10 ημερών από την παραλαβή των λαχνών ή του τιμολογίου (για πελάτες Εξωτερικού). Σε αγοραστές εντός Ελλάδος οι λαχνοί αποστέλλονται επί αντικαταβολή και σε γνωστούς πελάτες χωρίς προπληρωμή, για πληρωμή αμέσως μετά την παραλαβή των λαχνών. Αν η πληρωμή καθυστερήσει πέραν των 10 ημερών, η Εταιρία διατηρεί το δικαίωμα να επιβαρύνει το λογαριασμό με το νόμιμο επιτόκιο. Η κυριότητα των λαχνών παραμένει στον πωλητή, μέχρις ότου αποπληρωθεί ο λογαριασμός. Συμμετοχή αγοραστού στη δημοπρασία μπορεί να αποκλεισθεί, αν κατά την κρίση του πωλητού, ο αγοραστής δεν εκπληρώνει τους όρους της καλής πίστεως. Η ταχυδρόμηση των λαχνών ή του τιμολογίου γίνεται στην διεύθυνση, που φαίνεται στο έντυπο προσφορών. Τα έξοδα αποστολής βαρύνουν τον αγοραστή. Η απόδειξη παραλαβής Συστημένου του Ταχυδρομείου αποτελεί για την Εταιρία και απόδειξη παραλαβής του υλικού από τον αγοραστή. Στην τιμή κατακυρώσεως προστίθεται ποσοστό 18% για προμήθειά μας και επί πλέον ο αναλογών ΦΠΑ επί της προμήθειάς μας. Όλες οι τιμές στόν κατάλογο είναι σε ΕΥΡΩ. Απούλητοι λαχνοί με τιμή εκκίνησης OFFER δεν διατίθενται προς πώληση μετά τη λήξη της δημοπρασίας. Η τιμή πώλησης των λαχνών με την ένδειξη OFFER ορίζεται από το ποσό της προσφοράς, με κατοχύρωση του λαχνού στην υψηλότερη. Ο πλειοδότης (είτε βρίσκεται στην Αίθουσα, είτε έχει καταθέσει την προσφορά του μέσω τηλεφώνου/ ) είναι υπεύθυνος για την εξόφληση του τιμολογίου, εκτός αν έχει συνεννοηθεί γραπτώς ειδάλλως με την Εταιρία. Οποιοσδήποτε λαμβάνει μέρος στη δημοπρασία είναι γνώστης των προαναφερομένων όρων και τους αποδέχεται πλήρως. Οποιαδήποτε διαφωνία μεταξύ των συμβαλλομένων μερών τίθεται στην κρίση και δικαιοδοσία του αρμοδίου Δικαστηρίου Θεσσαλονίκης.

13 CONDITIONS OF SALE All descriptions are reliable and accurate and the lots are sold as genuine and authentic, unless the contrary is indicated. The purchaser may reject the lot and return it within 7 days (post office date stamp) after the end of the auction, if he proves it is not genuine or incorrectly described. The lots must be returned intact and as originally despatched. Lots which have been examined by the buyers before the auction cannot be returned. Also, lots purchased in the room cannot be returned after leaving the place. Buyers have no right to reject mixed lots, collections containing undescribed items, or described as having defects. Any illustration is part of the description and items cannot be returned for defects visible in it. When the value of a lot lies in the cancellation and not in the stamp, any defects of the latter shall not be a reason for rejecting the lot. The highest bidder shall prevail. In case of equal mail bids, the earlier arrived will be considered as succesful. Telephone bids are acceptable, but should be confirmed in writing. Before start selling or the date of the auction the Auctioneer has the right to withdraw any of the lots, to divide it into two or more parts, or to join two or more lots into one. Large lots may not be available for viewing in Athens unless especially selected. Viewing of those unavailable lots is still possible in our offices in Thessaloniki. Bids should be received at least 2 hours before the start of the Sale. Payment must be made in full just after the end of the sale in the room, or within 10 days after receipt of our invoice. Foreign buyers can pay by credit card (we accept Visa and Mastercard) or by Bank Cheque, personal cheque and money order in foreign currency or in euro. Interest shall be payable by the purchaser on any overdue account. The Auctioneer has a descretion to waive payment of the interest. Title shall remain to A. KARAMITSOS until payment in full is received. Any buyer could be excluded if he is not a person of good faith, according to the Auctioneer s opinion. The invoices and the lots will be mailed to the address given on the bidding form. Postage and insurance is charged to the buyers. The receipt for Registered letter by the Post Office constitutes delivery receipt for the Auctioneer. A 18% buyer s commission will be added to the hammer price for each lot, plus the respective Value Additive Tax (VAT) on our commission. All prices expressed in the catalogue and all bids are in euro, unless otherwise is stated. Unsold lots with starting price OFFER are not available for sale after the end of the auction. The sale price of lots marked as OFFER is defined by the highest offer, highest bid wins the item at said price. The bidder (either via mail or in the room) is responsible for the invoice s payment, unless otherwise aggreed, in writing, with the company. Anyone who will take part in this Auction is familiar to the conditions of sale and accepts them. Any dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Court in Thessaloniki, Greece.

15 Με τη δημοπρασία Νο. 560 έχουμε τη χαρά να προσφέρουμε στους φίλους συλλέκτες την ειδικευμένη συλλογή Οι επισημάνσεις του 1900 του διακεκριμένου συλλέκτη και μελετητή Jan Mascini. Οι επισημάνσεις αυτές πραγματοποιήθηκαν επάνω σε γραμματόσημα Μεγάλων και Μικρών Κεφαλών Ερμού αλλά και των Ολυμπιακών του Η συλλογή αυτή, η οποία είναι η πληρέστερη που έχει παρουσιαστεί μέχρι σήμερα, χρειάστηκε πολλά χρόνια έρευνας για να συγκροτηθεί και από την πρώτη φορά που εμφανίστηκε, απέσπασε αμέσως χρυσά μετάλλια σε κάθε κατηγορία που συμμετείχε, είτε σε εθνικές, είτε σε διεθνείς φιλοτελικές εκθέσεις. Είναι τέτοιο το εύρος της συλλογής και το βάθος της έρευνας που έχει γίνει που η μελέτη της (που δεν έχει τελειώσει ακόμη) μας οδήγησε στην ανανέωση του αντίστοιχου κεφαλαίου του καταλόγου HELLAS 2016 με επικαιροποίηση των σφαλμάτων και ποικιλιών με τα νέα ευρήματα. Το κεφάλαιο αυτό, στη νέα του μορφή, προσφέρεται στις επόμενες σελίδες. Μεταξύ των αντικειμένων που δημοπρατούνται περιλαμβάνονται πολλά σπάνια γραμματόσημα, μεμονωμένα ή πολλαπλά αλλά και επιστολές, καθώς επίσης και λοιπά ταχυδρομικά έντυπα, όπως π.χ. δελτία αποστολής δεμάτων, με σπάνιους συνδυασμούς τελών και εκδόσεων. Από τις σπανιότητες που προσφέρονται ξεχωρίζουν το μοναδικό σωζόμενο διπλό φύλλο των (2x50) γραμματοσήμων της αξίας των 25 λεπτών Μικρών Κεφαλών Ερμή με επισήμανση 20 λεπτών και ίσως το ολόκληρο φύλλο (6 φυλλαράκια των 10) της αξίας της 1 δραχμής των Ολυμπιακών αγώνων με επισήμανση 5 λεπτών (ίσως το μοναδικό σωζόμενο). Τέλος, θα πρέπει να τονισθεί ιδιαίτερα ότι η συλλογή αυτή αποτέλεσε κατά ένα ποσοστό που ίσως ξεπερνά και το 90% την πηγή και τη βάση για την έκδοση του βιβλίου με τον ίδιο τίτλο, το 2008 από τις εκδόσεις Βλαστού. Μιχάλης Τσιπίδης With auction Νo. 560 we have the pleasure to offer to our friends collectors the specialized collection The overprints of 1900 formed by the distinguished collector and researcher Jan Mascini. These overprints were made on stamps of the issues of Large and Small Hermes Heads and the 1896 Olympics as well. This collection, which is the most comprehensive that has ever been presented, took many years of research to be set up and from the first time it appeared, was rewarded with gold medals right away in every category it was participating in, as well in national as in international philatelic exhibitions. It is such the range of the collection and the depth of the research that has been done, that its study (which is not finished yet) led us to update the relevant chapter in the HELLAS 2016 catalogue and include all the new errors and varieties found. This chapter, in its new form, will be found in the following pages. Among the plethora of items auctioned, included are many rare stamps, single or multiples plus letters, as well as other postal stationery, like parcel cards, with rare combinations of rates and issues. From the rarities offered, the highlights are the only survived double sheet of (2x50) stamps of the 25 lepta value of Small Hermes Heads overprinted with 20 lepta and complete sheet (6 sheetlets of 10) of the 1 drachma value of the Olympic Games overprinted with 5 lepta (probably the only survived intact). Finally, it should be particularly emphasized that this collection - by a percentage which might exceed 90% - was the source and basis for the study and book published under the same title in 2007 by Vlastos Editions. 17 ΕΠΙΣΗΜΑΝΣΕΙΣ SURCHARGES Την ελληνική κυβέρνηση απασχολούσε ήδη από το 1895 η ανάγκη έκδοσης νέων σειρών γραμματοσήμων, τόσο κοινών, όσο και εισπρακτέων. Μετά από αρκετές αμφιταλαντεύσεις και αφού, για την κάλυψη των αναγκών, προηγήθηκε η κυκλοφορία των γραμματοσήμων Μικρής Κεφαλής της 3ης Περιόδου (χαρτί "Ε"), η παραγγελία δόθηκε στο Λονδίνο το Η καθυστέρηση παράδοσης όμως της νέας έκδοσης σε συνδυασμό με την εξάντληση ορισμένων παλαιών κλάσεων, αλλά και την αναγκαιότητα χρησιμοποίησης κάποιων νέων, οδήγησε στην απόφαση των Ελληνικών Ταχυδρομείων να επισημάνουν γραμματόσημα από τα αποθέματα προηγούμενων εκδόσεων. Ταυτοχρόνως, η συνεχής υποτίμηση της δραχμής, που επέβαλλε την καταβολή τελών εξωτερικού σε αξία συναλλάγματος (χρυσή δραχμή), οδήγησε στην κυκλοφορία γραμματοσήμων με την επισήμανση "ΑΜ" (Αξία Μεταλλική). Οι επισημάνσεις με τις νέες αξίες πραγματοποιήθηκαν σε εκτέλεση Β. Διαταγμάτων που εκδόθηκαν μεταξύ και , τα δε επισημανθέντα γραμματόσημα κυκλοφόρησαν από τα μέσα Σεπτεμβρίου 1900 μέχρι τις 30 Ιουνίου Since 1895, the Greek Government was concerned with the necessity of issuing new regular and postage due stamps. After a period of long talk and, following the circulation of the Small Hermes Heads of the 3rd Period (paper "E") to cover immediate needs, the order for the new set was finally placed in London in However, the delayed delivery of the new issue, in combination with the low stock of some older values as well as the immediate need for new ones, led to the Hellenic Post s decision to surcharge a number of the reserves of previous issues. At the same time, the continuous devaluation of the drachma, which necessitated the payment of international postal rates in foreign exchange (gold drachma), resulted to the circulation of certain stamps surcharged with "AM" (Metal Value). The new surcharges were applied in accordance with the Royal Decrees issued between and , and the new stamps were placed on sale from mid-september 1900 until 30 June (Σεπτ. / Sept.) Διατάγματα της (ΦΕΚ 208/ ) για την επισήμανση σε λεπτά ("ΛΕΠΤΑ 20" / 25 λ.) και της (ΦΕΚ 223/ ) για τις αξίες σε δραχμές ("ΔΡΑΧΜΗ 1" / 40 λ. και "ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ 2" / 40 λ.). Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν σε επιστολές εσωτερικού και εξωτερικού, καθώς και σε επιταγές και δέματα εσωτερικού. Κατ εξαίρεση, στα τέλη του 1900, κάποιες μεγάλες επιχειρήσεις χρησιμοποίησαν το γραμματόσημο "ΑΜ ΛΕΠΤΑ 25" / 40 λ. και σε επιστολές εξωτερικού, αντί των νέων 25λέπτων. Αφορμή, το γεγονός ότι η χρηματιστηριακή τιμή των 25 "χρυσών" λεπτών ήταν κατά τι χαμηλότερη των 30 "ελληνικών" λεπτών, δηλ. της τιμής διάθεσης στη θυρίδα των βιολέ 25λέπτων. Η νέα αξία συναντάται και σε απόσταση από τις λέξεις "ΛΕΠΤΑ" ή "ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ" 1½ χιλ. (μικρό διάστημα) αντί της συνήθους 3 έως 3½ χιλ. Επίσης, στην επισήμανση "ΑΜ ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ 2", στις θέσεις 59 και 33, η απόσταση μεταξύ των λέξεων "AM" και "ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ" είναι 2½ χιλ. Exceptionally, during the final months of 1900, a number of large companies used the "AM ΛΕΠΤΑ 25" / 40 λ. values on international correspondence too, instead of the newly issued 25 lepta stamps. The reason was that the cost of 25 "gold" lepta was slightly lower than the 30 "Greek" lepta, i.e. the sale price of the 25 lepta violet at the post office counter. The new value is also found 1½ mm below the words "ΛΕΠΤΑ" ή "ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ" (narrow space) instead of the regular 3 to 3½ mm. In the case of "ΑΜ ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ 2", positions 59 and 33, the space between the words "ΑΜ" and "ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ" is 2½ mm.
